“Claim to Fame,” a new unscripted series presented by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, has been picked up by ABC.
Paul Kevin Jonas is an actor, singer, and songwriter from the United States. Along with his little brothers Joe and Nick, he rose to popularity as a member of the Jonas Brothers, a pop-rock band. Jonas and his brothers rose to prominence on the Disney Channel in the late 2000s, gaining a large following thanks to their roles in the critically acclaimed musical television films Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), as well as two other series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).
They make a great team! Kevin and Frankie Jonas have teamed together to anchor “Claim to Fame,” ABC’s newest reality competition series.
The reality show will follow 12 renowned relatives as they leave their famous family’s shadows and live into the same house, all while striving to keep their identities hidden. To escape elimination and win the $100,000 prize, the cast will create alliances and compete in challenges while simultaneously “playing DNA detective.”
“Claim to Fame” is produced in conjunction with Walt Disney TV by Kinetic Content, the firm behind Netflix’s smash hit “Love Is Blind” and Lifetime’s “Married at First Sight.” Executive producers are Chris Coelen, Eric Detwiler, and Scott Teti. The showrunner and executive producer is Paul Osborne, while the director and executive producer is Brian Smith.
The show follows E!’s “Relatively Famous,” which followed eight cast members from famous families living together and working as ranch hands in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for four weeks.
Returning shows “Holey Moley” and “The Chase” will air at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively, and a new series, “Who Do You Believe?” will take viewers through true-crime stories from two different views, pushing them to figure out the truth.
In July, ABC will air a new season of “The Bachelorette,” which will follow the experiences of two protagonists for the first time.
Twelve celebrity relatives will be challenged to emerge out of their famous relative’s shadow and live together under one roof, concealing their identity and genealogy in the pursuit of their own fame and money. In order to win a $100,000 prize and their own “Claim to Fame,” the players will compete in tasks, establish alliances, and play DNA detective.
Along with Chris Coelen, Eric Detwiler, and Scott Teti, Brian Smith will direct and executive produce. In addition to working as showrunner, Paul Osborne will also serve as executive producer.
Of course, Kevin and Frankie are no strangers to reality television. Kevin and his wife Danielle starred in the E! sitcom “Married to Jonas” for two seasons, in which Frankie made frequent appearances. This will, however, be the duo’s first competition series.
Nick and Joe, their brothers, have both acted as judges on singing competition shows such as “The Voice” and “American Idol.” Joe will also serve as a judge on MTV’s upcoming reality show “Becoming a Popstar.”
The debut date and cast for “Claim to Fame” will be announced at a later date.
