Where Can I Watch Accused: Guilty Or Innocent? Season 3 (2022)?

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, A&E’s true crime documentary series Accused: Guilty or Innocent? will return for its third season. A short trailer previewing some of the cases that will be followed in season three was released alongside the debut date announcement.

Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, new episodes of the docuseries will air.

Season two attracted 5.6 million viewers, making it one of the top ten true crime shows in 2021. Brinkworth Productions produces Accused: Guilty or Innocent?, which is executive produced by Malcolm Brinkworth, Xander Brinkworth, and A&E’s Elaine Frontain Bryant, Shelly Tatro, and Brad Holcman.

Welcome to A&E’s new documentary series Accused: Guilty Or Innocent?, which the makers claim is one of the first shows on American television to follow people accused of severe crimes from the moment they are charged through the conclusion of their case in a court of law. The series premiered on April 21 at 10 p.m. EST/PST and was created by Brinkworth Films, a British production studio that previously produced The Accused for ViacomCBS’ UK network Channel 5 in 2017.

A+E Networks contacted executive producer Malcolm Brinkworth, requesting the Channel 5 show tapes. Soon after, his company was working on an eight-part American television series. Brinkworth Films spent time and money developing a “remarkably large database” of U.S. defence attorneys, which it used to find and track down cases that would make good show tales.

Brinkworth shadowed 35 instances, many of which failed due to a number of factors, including the case disintegrating. Those who did succeed, on the other hand, make for an interesting collection of human interest stories. Later episodes feature a 23-year-old woman who is arrested for a decade-old intentional robbery after fresh fingerprint evidence surfaces, as well as a two-part special on a farmer accused of killing his mother.

Brinkworth adds that getting these folks to engage when they are going through one of the most horrific experiences of their lives takes a lot of effort. “Imagine you’re in this situation, and you’ve been accused of something you strongly believe you’re not guilty of. You’ve been featured in the local press, and some of it may have even gone national. Your neighbours don’t talk to you, and you’re probably unemployed because you were fired. Did you truly do this, your relatives and friends wonder? Then you receive a call from your lawyer, who says, ‘Hey, a television show has contacted us.’ “That is the framework in which you must frame the question,” he explains. A&E Networks published the below description of the season.

“Accused: Guilty or Not Guilty?” chronicles the dramatic inside stories of persons facing trial for terrible crimes they are accused of committing as they develop. Each one claims innocence or that their acts were justified. The acclaimed true crime series provides an unprecedented and captivating depiction of what happens when someone is charged with a crime and sentenced to prison – told entirely through the eyes of the accused, their legal team, and family members.

Each immersive episode follows the accused person from the start of their legal defence to their court appearances and, finally, the waiting for justice. These gripping and poignant stories provide an unprecedented peek at what occurs when your freedom is on the line as the evidence accumulates and the trial looms.

This season’s cases include: a veteran discovers a wanted fugitive on his property and shoots him in the rear. Was it self-defense or murder? A mother discovers her son dead in her bed; days later, her boyfriend is discovered hung, with his farewell note saying the mother was not to blame. Was she a bad mother or a good mother to her child? During neighbourhood beverages, a bloody brawl breaks out amongst pals. Do you think he stabbed his neighbour or did he defend himself? When a guy kills his long-time companion, the neighbourhood is stunned. Was he medically insane or did he murder his wife?”
