‘Diablo’ is a series of video games developed by Blizzard Entertainment originally in 1996 and followed by eight more games, including sequels and remakes of the same. The third part of the game has already had two remakes, and the second part has had one. Apart from this, two upcoming games in the series are ‘Diablo IV’ and ‘Diablo Immortal,’ and the former can be expected to be played on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Another remaster of ‘Diablo II’ might be in the works, and it is speculated that game development studio Vicarious Visions may be the one working on this new project. However, although it has not officially been announced.

During the financial results conference call for the fourth quarter of 2020, Blizzard’s Dennis M Durkin had mentioned a few things that may be pointing fingers towards the coming of ‘Diablo II.’ He has mentioned that the team still has a few things lined up that involve some revamped content. As reported earlier, team Blizzard that worked on ‘Warcraft III: Reforged’ was working on the remake of ‘Diablo II’ until last year, but Blizzard decided to put the team in charge of ‘Diablo IV’ instead, following the below-par performance of Reforged.

Vicarious Visions is no stranger to spectacular gameplay that fans have appreciated
Earlier this month, Activision, an independent video game software developer, was absorbed by Blizzard. The former has recently revealed that its wholly-owned subsidiary Vicarious Visions will now be a subsidiary to Blizzard. Following this announcement, avid fans went berserk and are now running theories about how this may be the first step towards them working on the remake of ‘Diablo II’ that fans have long looked forward to. Vicarious Visions has previously done some excellent work on games like ‘Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure’ (2002), ‘Skylanders: Giants’ (2012), ‘Tony Hawk’s Underground’ (2003), and ‘Spider-Man’ (2000). Blizzard, on the other hand, has also worked on games that have made their way into the lives of many teenagers and adults alike who have deeply appreciated works like ‘World of Warcraft’ (2004), ‘Hearthstone’ (2014), and ‘Blackthorne’ (1994)
