It is time for fans of the horror genre to gear up a new film hitting the big screen this year. Directed by Chris Sun, ‘The Possessed’ is an Australian horror-thriller starring quite a few former stars from ‘Bachelor,’ a reality show where people find their ideal match. So far, there has only been an announcement of the film’s release month, and a poster reveal. The trailer has not yet dropped, but we have already started racking our brains while trying to analyze the spooky poster.
Synopsis
The story revolves around Jacob, played by ‘Wolf Creek’ actor John Jarratt, who has an extraordinary gift that helps him interact with the supernatural. As he makes life easier by helping people who have been possessed, he is convinced that nobody else can do the work he does. That is, until he meets his nephew’s girlfriend Atalie, played by Lauren Grimson, and realises immediately that she has the same gift as him and can help him save the world from the wrath of death in a newly started epidemic of too many demonic possessions.

The takeaway from the poster
The film’s poster is ominously looking and promises a good scare. Director Sun has claimed that the film will be based on true events and the poster also features “when he asks whose body this is… you better pray you tell him it’s yours”, that might be a foreshadowing of just how powerful Jacob’s exorcisms are when brought in battle with the demons who terrorise the innocents.
