    SEVEN ANGELS, A 2018 Indonesian Horror Film, Is Now Available In The United States

    We were presented with an official press release from US distributor Film Regions International which announced that the new Indonesian horror film Tujuh Bidadari (known as Seven Angels in English) is now available on numerous VOD platforms.

    On July 12, 2021, since Film Regions International (FRI) announced that it has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the Indonesian horror film “Tujuh Bidadari” (English title: “Seven Angels”). Now this will be available on certain VOD platforms. After last year’s zombie apocalypse picture “Zeta,” this is the second horror film from Indonesia that FRI has licenced on VOD.

    FRI co-chairman and CEO John R. Blythe stated that there is an audience in America who like international horror films, particularly those from Asia, and that many of the ones we’ve seen, including this one, are of great production quality.In 2019, “Tujuh Bidadari” was released in a limited number of Asian markets, with FRI licencing video-on-demand rights in other English-speaking territories.

    Muhammad Yusuf directed and co-wrote the film about the Seven Angels, an all-girl Indonesian band that travel to Australia only to be mistakenly used as human sacrifices to bring back an old demon. The film was shot at the famed Aradale Lunatic Asylum in Victoria, Australia, which is said to be haunted.

    On July 16th, “Tujuh Bidadari” will be available on Vimeo on Demand, with other VOD platforms to follow in the future.
