Jason Voorhees’s Horrifying Backstory – Destruction Of Innocence By Society – – Friday The 13th Franchise – Explored

Friday the 13th is a massive slasher film franchise that has earned over$755.6 million, second only to Halloween. It was created by Victor Miller and Sean S. Cunningham. The films follow Jason Voorhees, a young child who was the subject of societal abuse and witnessed the decapitation of his own mother.

He was so traumatised by the incident that he became a serial killer. Since the first instalment in 1980, he has travelled to numerous locations such as Hell, dreams, and even space in order to live and breathe according to his innate instincts.

Marvelous Videos is paying tribute to this great cinematic monster today by delving into all of Jason’s appearances. So put your machetes, pitchforks, and other sharp implements away because Jason Voorhees is on his way.

    The Childhood of Horrors

    The Childhood of Horrors

The horror legend was born on June 13th, 1946, to Elias and Pamela Voorhees. Jason was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus as a youngster, which is a brain disorder in which the body creates too much cerebrospinal fluid.

This condition caused Jason to have a distorted face, an enlarged head, and delayed mental progress. Jason didn’t look, think, or act like other kids, which meant he would be bullied by his classmates.

As a result, Pamela kept him confined to the house and cut him off from the rest of the town. Jason would live with heron the outskirts of the scenic Crystal Lake. Despite his limited and decelerated mental growth, one thing that Jason learned was that if he didn’t follow his mother, life was going to be Hell.

This unquestioned and unconditional love for her would ultimately become the reason for Jason’s gruesome crimes, but we must realize that his mother’s decision to keep him away from society was an equal contributing factor.

In 1957, Mr. and Mrs. Christy owned a summer camp near Crystal Lake, and they recruited Pamela as the camp’s cook. Desperate for money, she took the role but was worried about her son.

He had never seen or met many people in his entire life, let alone become friends with kids his own age. With no money to afford a babysitter, Mrs. Voorhees took her 11-year-oldto the camp. Mrs. Voorhees’ fears were about to turn into reality.

Young Jason would spend most of his time with his mother rather than bonding with the other campers, leading the other campers to believe that Jason was a mamma’s boy who was easily bullied. Jason’s unique appearance drew unwanted attention, and his white mask didn’t help matters.

Jason was encircled by a swarm of kids, which caused him to fear and rush to the pier, but the kids were catching up to him. Jason rushed into the lake, likely drowning, in a frantic attempt to escape his small tormentors, but his body was never found.

Where were the camp counselors all this while? Well, they were busy making love instead of keeping a strict eye. After the incident, Pamela lost her mental peace and stability and sought to ensure that the camp never reopened and no other kids lost their lives.

When the camp opened the next year in 1958, she murdered the counselors Claudette Hayes  and Barry Jackson because she accused them of Jason’s death. The water was judged to be unfit for public consumption when it reopened in 1962.

Following that, there were sporadic fires in and around the adjacent homes during the 1960s and 1970s. The villagers dubbed it Camp Blood as a result of the bizarre incidents, and while suspicions were raised about Pamela, there was no solid evidence against her.

    The Murder of Jason’s Innocence

    The Murder of Jason’s Innocence

The police searched the water for Jason’s body, but they were unable to locate him, and the matter was closed. Even Pamela thought her kid was dead, but Jason had managed to survive the drowning. He most likely washed up on the other side of the lake and continued to survive.

It’s unlikely that he swam to shore because his mother stated categorically that he wasn’t a good swimmer; it’s also possible that he didn’t know how to swim at all. Jason resided in a shack deep in the woods, according to the second film. Now the question is, how did he get there in the first place? We’ll get to that in a moment.

So, Jason had no idea how to seek help or communicate with others and somehow ended up in the shack where he probably waited to be rescued by his mother. While young Jason grew up presumably by himself, his mother was busy slashing young men and women.

They never got the opportunity to see each other, at least until she died. It’s possible that Jason started to believe that his mother passed away or was never coming, and he was on his own. He started to thrive on whatever edible things he could salvage from nature, be it edible plants and fruits and sometimes meat from hunting small animals.

The only good thing that came out of the events was that Jason became self-sufficient and independent of his mother’s constant guidance. From a lonely child, Jason had transformed into a recluse adult with a crude lifestyle.

Now, coming back to our initial question, how did Jason end up in a shack, and how did an eleven-year-old with reduced mental capacities manage to survive the woods and live on his own? We believe that Jason was rescued by someone from the town of Crystal Lake. It could have been anyone, including Crazy Ralph, but we can’t say who.

However, it is also a possibility that Jason’s new guardian never intended for him to become a ruthless murderer. The rescuer only wished for Jason to learn hunting skills so that he could survive the woods on his own.

But once Jason saw that her mother was dead, in fact, murdered, he used these very hunting skills to wreak havoc on the trespassers and guests who came to the sleepy town of Crystal Lake.

    A Mother’s Revenge on Friday the 13th (1980)

    A Mother’s Revenge on Friday the 13th (1980)

As previously stated, the first murder at Camp Crystal Lake occurred in 1958, when an intruder murdered two counsellors called Claudette and Barry in cold blood while they were sneaking away to make love.

Mr. and Mrs. Christy, the camp’s owners, closed the camp after the tragedy. Their son Steve, on the other hand, put in roughly $25000 to rebuild the decaying site and re-monetize it. Alice, Brenda, Ned, Bill, Jack, and Marcie were among the counsellors he had hired.

Despite warnings from elderly Crazy Ralph, camp counsellor Annie Phillips(0.05 to 0.06) is transported halfway to the reopened Camp Crystal Lake by Enos, a truck driver, twenty-one years later. After getting there, she hitches another ride from an unseen person, who chases her into the woods and slashes her throat.

Apart from the counselors, Steve also employed a few teenagers to help with the construction because the deadline was just around the corner. Ned was the first victim of the film, whose body was dumped just above the bunk bed on which Marcie and Jack were having the time of their lives.

After Marcie goes to the washroom, the killer kills Jack with an arrow and then follows Marcie and slays her with an ax. Bloody disgusting! All this while Steve had been away to stock supplies because a thunderstorm was approaching; he returned only to be stabbed by the killer.

Alice and Bill are all that’s left, but Alice later finds Bill’s body pinned on a door with arrows. Alice tries to flee out into the open, only to be picked up by Mrs. Voorhees, who introduces herself to the Christy family as a friend. Mrs. Voorhees then tells Jason’s narrative, revealing the dark past that Crystal Lake was concealing beneath its surface.

She confesses to being the murderer and tries to kill Alice, but she is eventually overpowered and decapitated with a machete. When Christy is rowing away in a canoe at the end of the movie, Jason appears to attack her. Upon waking up at a hospital, she’s informed by a police sergeant that they didn’t find Jason or his body.

The film was heavily criticized by critics for its resemblance with other horror classics like John Carpenter’s Halloween. However, it is beyond doubt that four decades later, Friday the 13th and Jason Voorhees have become the turning points of the genre, specifically slasher and stalker films.

It grossed a stunning $60 million on a budget of just over half a million dollars, giving horror hits like The Shining and The Fog a run for their money. Strong actors like Adrienne King as Alice, Betsy Palmer as Mrs. Voorhees, and, of course, future star Kevin Bacon as Jack are responsible for the film’s commercial and popular success.

The female antagonist, however, was the component that overpowered the cast in making the film a hit. People expected a man with heavy boots and a pair of old leather gloves to be slashing the young victims throughout, but when Mrs. Vooorhees revealed herself as the killer, people were taken aback and left thrilled.

Like Mother Like Son– Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)

Like Mother Like Son-- Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)

Alice, the lone survivor of the Crystal Lake tragedy, is shown at her apartment recovering from the ordeal. It had been a few months, and Alice was relieved that Pamela was no longer alive. What she didn’t realise was that getting food for her cat from the refrigerator would be her final task.

Just before Jason Voorhees killed Pamela with an ice pick, she glimpsed Pamela’s dismembered head in there. Five years after Alice’s murder, a man named Paul Holt launches a camp counsellor training school, but out of a million lakes on the planet, he chose a town with a history of camp counsellor murders as the location.

At night, he tells the class about Jason’s legend and how he may or may not be alive. That same night, Crazy Ralph came to warn the group about Jason, but an unseen assailant overpowered him before he could do that.

As is normal with people in horror films, Jeff and Sandra decided to sneak into Camp Crystal Lake out of curiosity but were thankfully saved by police Officer Winslow, but later Winslow himself gets clawed with a hammer by a man in a gunny sack.

Jason slices Scott and Mark’s throats at this moment, and the real action begins. With the use of a spear, Jeff and Sandra are taken to the other world, while Victoria receives the good old knife. Finally, Jason dismembers Paul, bringing the total number of kills to ten. Ginny is the only one who lives because she utilised her psychiatric understanding to dress up as Pamela and distract Jason, allowing her to kill him.

This film isn’t any different from many of the early sequels of the franchise, but it is still one of the most important entries because it revealed that Jason had survived and wasn’t just a figment of people’s imaginations.

Jason Fills the Lake with Blood In Friday the 13th Part III (1982)

Jason Fills the Lake with Blood In Friday the 13th Part III (1982)

The film picks up immediately after the events of the previous part, with Jason going to a store to change out of his bloody clothes. Of course, he doesn’t have the funds to pay for them, so he decides to assassinate the proprietors.

Meanwhile, Chris and her friends return to Chris’s old home in Camp Crystal Lake, where she was assaulted by a masked guy a few years ago. She was so frightened by the incident that she was forced to flee town. She’s returned because she appears to want to confront her worries.

Two of the friends, Shelly and Vera, get into an argument with bikers named Fox, Loco, and Ali. They followed them to Chris’s barn, but Jason was already taking refuge there, and he impaled Fox and Loco with a pitchfork before beating Ali black and blue. Jason slices Shelly’s throat and takes his hockey mask to cover his hideous face.

The next few kills take place at a rapid-fire speed; he shoots Vera in her eye socket with a spear gun, slices a hand standing Andy with a machete, kills pregnant Debra with a knife, the practical joker Sheldon has his throat slit, poor Charles meets death due to electrocution, and lastly Jason stabs Chili using a fire iron.

At the end, only Chris, her lover Rick, and an almost-dead Ali are still alive. Jason, on the other hand, demonstrates his physical power by crushing Rick’s head with his bare hands. In those jungles, what has he been eating? We’d want a taste of it!

Ali makes one final futile attempt to assassinate Jason, but Jason ends Ali’s life with a machete. As a result of the confusion, Chris was able to assault Jason with an axe. Finally, Chris gets into a boat and floats into the centre of the lake, where he has a nightmare about Pamela Voorhees’ decomposing body.

Jason obtains his renowned hockey mask in this film, and he also bulks up into a huge muscular monster, a physical feature that would remain in subsequent episodes. The total number of kills in this one has risen to 13, with our favourite being Jason smashing Rick’s head into a pulp with his brute power.

The plot remained roughly the same as the previous editions, with the addition of a few additional pointed things for Jason to employ. This was also the first instalment in the franchise to be released in 3D in theatres.

Jason Dies Or, Does He? Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)

Jason Dies Or, Does He Friday the 13th The Final Chapter (1984)

The police come at Chris’s residence shortly after the events of Part 3 and transport Jason’s body to the morgue. However, because he wasn’t dead, he escaped and sliced the coroner Axel with a hacksaw and severed his neck; afterwards, the nurse Robbie was greeted with a scalpel. Another batch of kids arrives to Crystal Lake the next day to have their fates sealed by good old Jason.

The friends arrive at Crystal Lake and meet Trish and her little brother Tommy, who has a fascination for monsters and villains. At night, the visiting pals throw a party that Trish attends.

Not surprisingly, at the party, instead of booze, blood starts to flow. While Samantha goes down due to Jason’s machete, Paul takes a hit with a spear gun on his groin, Terri is hunted with a pitchfork, and Trish’s mom Tracy is killed off-camera.

Trish goes looking for her, where she meets Rob, who tells her that he’s the brother of one of Jason’s victims and tells her that Jason is still alive and he was there to exact his revenge. The next ones to go are lovers Jimmy and Tina.

Jason murders Rob with a garden claw after bringing his kill total to twelve. Jason breaks into Tommy and Trish’s house despite Tommy and Trish’s efforts to safeguard it. Little Tommy shaves his head and dresses himself as a younger Jason Voorhees, thanks to his knowledge of movies and Jason’s mythology.

Trish takes advantage of the situation by slamming Rob’s blade into Jason’s face, but only manages to remove his mask. Tommy, in the end, was the one who took up the machete and cut Jason to death, or did he? Tommy embraces Trish in the hospital near the end of the film, but the boy has a psychotic smile on his face.

The producers wanted to make this one the final installment of the Friday series, and hence, it was titled The Final Chapter. But we know how wrong they were. This one was important because it introduced a young Corey Feldman as Tommy Jarvis, whose character would go on to become Jason’s archenemy in future films. Also, this was the last flick to start immediately after its predecessor’s plot.

Jason and the Child in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)

Jason and the Child in Friday the 13th A New Beginning (1985)

Little Tommy’s evil grin wasn’t for naught; he savagely murdered a serial murderer, and the incident’s memories expressed themselves as nightmares and panic attacks. He was admitted to a number of psychiatric facilities before landing in the Pinehurst Halfway House, which was run by Dr. Matt Letter and his assistant Pam Roberts.

At the institution, Tommy meets a number of other children. On the same night, two guys are murdered after their automobile breaks down. More killings emerge as time goes on, and a waitress and her lover suffer the same awful fate. Meanwhile, Tommy himself becomes one of the suspects because of his troubled past and connection with Jason.

The next day, lovers Tina and Eddie go into the woods to have a bit of canoodling, despite being forbidden to venture out of the institution’s premises. Naturally, such disobedience is bound to bear brutal consequences.

The first one to go is Tina, and then Eddie meets with a similar fate. Meanwhile, Tommy, Pam, and another teen Reggie go to meet Reggie’s brother Demon. Somehow, Tommy gets into a fight with someone and runs into the woods after realizing that he’s committed a mistake.

As Pam and Reggie go to look for Tommy, more killings take place back at the outhouse. Soon, Reggie and Pam discover several corpses in Tommy’s room, and not far from long, they witness a resurrected Voorhees.

After a fierce battle, the teens manage to kill this resurrected Jason, only to realize that he was one of the paramedics who arrived when Joey was killed. The police reveal that this man was Roy Burns, Joey’s father, and he sought revenge for his son’s death after getting inspired by Jason’s story of avenging his mother.

The film ends with Tommy recovering at the hospital. He initially faces his fears and fights his hallucinations, but when Pam arrived to meet him, he hid behind the door wearing a hockey mask and holding a knife. Is he the new Jason?

The film is magnificent in that it not only pays homage to the previous four instalments by using pointy and sharp objects to perform the murders, but it also forges a thrilling road into uncharted territory of copycat crimes.

Interestingly, unlike Jason’s hockey mask, the copycat killer’s mask had blue stripes. As a result, for a die-hard Jason fan, the film would have been a letdown. With 22 kills, it outnumbers all of its predecessors in terms of violence and gore. Despite the 22 bodies, there isn’t much blood, but don’t worry, that’s compensated for by excessive amounts of flesh display and humour.

So, if you’re in the mood to appreciate the beauty of a bad movie with a little story but a lot of laughs, A New Beginning is the way to go.

Jason Meets His Adversary in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)

Jason Meets His Adversary in Friday the 13th Part VI Jason Lives (1986)

Tommy began to feel better after what transpired at Pinehurst Halfway House; the hallucinations had lessened but not vanished. He intended to go to the Crystal Lake cemetery where Jason was buried after his release with the goal of burning Jason’s remains and confronting his anxiety.

On a stormy night, Tommy tagged along with his friend Allen and they arrived at the town’s graveyard. Tommy has horrific hallucinations about Jason while they dig up the body. In a fit of wrath, he impales the serial killer’s body with metal rods, but lightning strikes the rods just as he finishes, and Jason reanimates as an undead revenant.

Jason kills Allen and Tommy manages to flee and inform the sheriff Mike Garris that Jason is back. However, Mike knows about Tommy’s past and assumes that he’s been hallucinating again. Tommy is arrested and put behind bars. Meanwhile, two camp counselors Darren and Lizabeth, are killed by Jason.

Mike’s daughter Megan arrives at the police station the following day to file a missing report for her friends Lizabeth and Darren. Tommy warns again, but no one pays heed to him. Later, Jason goes on to kill four more people and steals their machete. Jason also realizes that he now has superhuman strength, courtesy of his undead nature.

The town of Crystal Lake had been renamed Forest Green as the residents didn’t want to be reminded of the evil crimes that Jason had committed in the town. As children start arriving at Camp Forest Green, things begin to get serious and the killings more frequent.

Mike realizes that Megan likes Tommy, so he escorts Tommy out of the town and warns him never to return to Forest Green. That night, Jason murders the graveyard’s keeper as well as two witnesses. Mike, on the other hand, begins to suspect Tommy has gone wild and is executing Jason-style killings.

Tommy persuades Megan to assist him in assassinating Jason by enticing him to the lake. The two come to an agreement, but Mike arrests Tommy for the killings. Megan, on the other hand, manages to break him out of the station, and the two of them make their way to the camp, where Jason had murdered the counsellors but left the children alone.

Tommy pulls Jason into the water and drowns him when he tries to kill Megan. Jason makes one last attempt to fight back, but this time, Megan does the trick. Tommy and Megan believe that Jason has finally been sent to his resting place—the water, but Jason is shown to be alive and awaiting another opportunity to strike.

Jason Lives was the first film that transformed our titular serial killer into a supernatural monster. And from here on, he continued to remain a paranormal character. Despite being one of the least profitable films of the franchise, this sixth installment managed to earn positive critical reviews for its efficient depiction of violence and elevated grim humor.

Psycho vs. Psychic in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)

Psycho vs. Psychic in Friday the 13th Part VII The New Blood (1988)

Tina Shepard, a young girl, tries to flee her terrible home, which her alcoholic father has created. She boards a boat and travels to Crystal Lake, followed by her father. She mistakenly destroys the dock on which he was standing due to her telekinetic talents, and he drowns.

Tina begins to feel guilty about being the cause of her father’s death as the years pass. Tina’s mother, Amanda, returns her to Crystal Lake to be treated by Dr. Crews, who is secretly interested in harnessing her telekinetic abilities. So, rather than teaching her how to control them, he abuses her verbally while posing as an experiment.

Tina one day gets agitated and goes to the same spot where her father died many years ago and wished that he came back. However, this simple wish freed Jason from his chains and brought him back to the surface to resume his killing spree.

Next to Tina’s house, a group of kids celebrate the birthday of their friend Micheal. At the party, a boy named Nick gets attracted to her, and why not! Birthday parties are probably meant for love affairs in Crystal Lake. Later, tina has visions of Micheal being murdered at the hands of Jason, and the visions turn out to be true!

Later Tina and Nick leave to find her mother, and Jason merrily crashes the festivities. Russell and Sandra drown in the lake, Russell by an axe and Sandra by drowning. Jason kills Maddy with a sickle after she discovers Russell’s body.

Ben has his skull crushed, but Kate’s kill has to be the most imaginative, as he finishes her off by forcing a party horn through her eyes. Dr. Crews saves himself for a brief while by using Amanda as a shield, but Jason captures him as well.

When Tina finds Jason and electrocutes him with her powers, everything comes to a halt, but Jason is no longer human. He’s a resurrected monster who has survived years of drowning.

Tina then uses her abilities to burn him and trap him behind the rubble of a massive edifice, but it is in vain. In a strange turn of events, Tina unwittingly summons her father’s spirit, which rises from the depths of the lake and chains Jason once more. The film ends with Jason’s mask being found alongside painful whispers.

We think that the real reason why Jason kills teen victims is not really revenge; he’s probably just tired of how annoying, cliched and obnoxious these post-adolescents are. But trust us when we say this, The New Blood portrays its teens as the most irritating bunch of kids in the entire franchise; and by now, you know that that’s saying something.

Regardless, Kane Hodder played Jason Voorhees in the film. He went on to reprise the role in three more films. Did you know that Hodder played another supernatural serial killer in the Hatchet series as Victor Crowley? In another video, we delved into the Hatchet series in depth, and we’ll put the link in the description. Don’t forget to have a look at it.

From Lakes to Sewers in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

From Lakes to Sewers in Friday the 13th Part VIII Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

A teenage teenager named Jim shocks his girlfriend, Suzi, on a houseboat by telling her the Jason Voorhees myth. He goes a little too far and employs a hockey mask and a knife, but the boat’s anchor messes up Voorhees’ shackles, allowing him to escape. Jason is aboard the boat the next thing we know, slicing the young couple.

Meanwhile, the SS Lazarus, a cruise liner, sets sail with a senior class and teachers Dr. Charles McCulloch(Mc-Kulock) and Colleen Van Deusen (Van-Deu-zen). Jason manages to board the ship and falls back on his innate instincts. He bashes Jessica, a want tobe rockstar, in the head with her own guitar before stomping on a young boxer’s chest.

Next, he chances upon Tamara right after she came out of the shower and stabs her with broken shards. Meanwhile, McCulloch’s niece Rennie continues to see the visions of a young Jason on the ship. After Jason harpooned Captain Robertson thrice and slit his first man’s throat with a machete, their bodies are discovered.

Somehow, Sean(Shawn), Rennie, Colleen and Charles McCulloch find a life raft and reach the main land. However, upon arriving, Rennie gets abducted by two young stoners, and the rest split up to get help. Jason, on the other hand, becomes Rennie’s blessing in disguise when he kills the kidnappers and frees her.

They reunite soon after and go to the cops, but Jason kills the cop as well. Following this, more people are killed, and Rennie, Sean, and Jason engage in a chase. Jason pursues the teenagers into a sewer, which is expected to be clogged with poisonous garbage by midnight.

They manage to get away from him, and Jason drowns in the filth. Interestingly, when the water hit him, he reminisced about his childhood, and when it receded, Rennie and Sean saw what looked like a young Jason.

The purpose of giving Rennie the visions about Jason’s childhood is as unexplained as the fact that New York sewers get filled with toxic waste at night. Nevertheless, the film is supposed to be watched with the intent of witnessing another Jason Voorhees film and nothing more, and if you do that, you’re golden. Friday the 13th VIII was the beginning of the theatre of absurd that franchise later became.

To Hell and Back in The Final Friday (1993)

To Hell and Back in The Final Friday (1993)

Jason resurrects a few years after the events of Manhattan and returns to Crystal Lake to stalk a woman. We’re not sure how he manages to move from New York to Manhattan without being recognised. Jason, on the other hand, had no idea that the lady was an FBI agent waiting for him to assault.

He gets caught in a trap and annihilated by SWAT and FBI forces. Jason’s burnt and mutilated body is sent to the morgue for autopsy, but the coroner decides that Jason’s still-beating heart is safe to eat. Again, we have no idea why he would do such a thing.

Nevertheless, after the tasty serial killer heart meal, the coroner gets possessed and flees the morgue but not before killing two agents and another medical staff. The possessed coroner returns to Crystal Lake and murders three teens. What’s a Friday film without a few teens getting slaughtered!

He then killed one of the two officers sent to investigate the murders and possessed the other. Meanwhile, a bounty hunter named Duke finds out that only Jason’s blood relatives can kill and send him back to Hell, but if he possesses such a person, then Jason will become invincible forever.

The only such relatives are Jason’s half-sister Diana, her daughter Jessica and granddaughter Stephanie, who is Jessica and Steven’s infant child. Jason goes to Diana’s house but is attacked by Steven, but Jason manages to kill his half-sister. The police pin the blame for the murder on Steven and arrest him.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that Jessica’s present boyfriend and reporter Robert Campbell is using Jessica to sensationalize the return of Jason Voorhees from the dead. Steven cannot let anything happen to his family and breaks out to reach them before Jason can.

The possessed policeman reaches Robert and transfers Jason’s heart into him. The Robert-Jason then makes an attempt to possess Jessica but gets interrupted by Steven, who takes her into his car. Jessica, on the other hand, does not trust Steven’s account and flees to the police station.

When Jason arrives at the police station, he kills anybody who stands in his way of Jessica. But hold your horses! Steven is still present; he thwarts Jason’s scheme, which would have been impossible for an entire squad of cops to execute.

Jessica believes him this time and goes with him to pick up Stephanie, but they soon realise that Jason is the father. Hold on, mates, if you thought the strange things were over. The Robert-Jason once again transfers his heart into a police officer and attempts to birth himself through Stephanie, but Steven steals his thunder.

By now, Jason’s heart has turned into a demonic infant, which enters dead Diana’s vaginal cavity to retake birth. Should we call it Anti-Birth? Oh, wait! There’s also a special mystical dagger that can truly kill Jason.

Jessica manages to punch the dagger through Jason’s heart, and the hands of Jason’s victims tear the Earth to pull him into Hell. The film ends with Freddy Krueger’s hand pulling Jason’s mask into Hell.

We have no idea what director Adam Marcus and screenwriters Jay Huguely and Dean Lorey had in mind for the script. We’re not sure if they realised what they were doing! Did they even watch the movie after it was finished?

Jason Goes To Hell has magical daggers, possession, mythology, and, of course, Freddy Krueger. Strange things have happened on television before, but turning a heart become a baby that crawls into someone’s vagina to be birthed again is pushing the envelope.

Having said that, we are also of the opinion that the film is nonetheless a fun watch if you are viewing it with a group of friends on a Saturday night with a few chilled ones. So, good luck!

Psychopathic Freddy vs. Psychotic Jason (2003)

Psychopathic Freddy vs. Psychotic Jason (2003)

We’ll go over Freddy vs. Jason before moving on to Jason X, which is the eleventh picture and takes place in a futuristic environment. Let’s start with a quick summary of the Nightmare on Elm Street films, which feature Freddy Krueger as the main adversary.

So, Freddy is essentially a nightmare killer who kills people, but the effects are incredibly real and match the victim’s real life. Freddy, on the other hand, can only attack and kill if people are aware of him and dread him. If you’ve forgotten about him, he won’t be able to assault you.

The people of Springwood discovered how Freddy worked after the events of Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare in 1991. They destroyed all things that belonged to or related to the killer and those who remembered him were sent into quarantine.

Now, because no one feared him anymore, Freddy was unable to come back to the Dream World. So, he devised a plan to bring back from Hell the immortal and equally horrific serial killer, Jason Voorhees.

Freddy appeared to Jason in the form of Pamela Voorhees and brought him to Springwood. Jason began his killing spree. Because the townsfolk thought that Freddy was back, this generated fear in their hearts, and Freddy got his power back. Meanwhile, a young girl named Lori spends a night out with her friends Gibb and Kia.

Later, two more guys join in, but an uninvited Jason also comes over. Jason begins his killings, but in order to stop Freddy’s panic from spreading, the cops dub the incident as murder and suicide. When Jason murders one of Freddy’s chosen victims, however, things go wrong. Freddy’s scheme is discovered, and the youths formulate a counter-strategy to defeat him by pitting him against Jason.

They resolve to get Freddy out of the dream realm and transport Jason to Camp Crystal Lake, where he was rendered comatose by Freddy earlier. Camp Crystal Lake is transformed as a massive fighting ring by the two epic movie serial killers.

To subjugate one another, they use all of their abilities and skills. Freddy emerges from the sea after an explosion, but Jason pursues him, and Lori decapitates Freddy. The following day Jason emerges out of the water with Freddy’s head on one hand and his machete on the other. However, Freddy winks at the camera, and by extension, the audience, revealing that the nightmares for Elm Street and Springwood residents are not over just yet.

This epic crossover was due since the early 90s, but since New Line didn’t have the rights to both the supernatural serial killers, they couldn’t bring the project to life. Things started to come into place once New Line acquired the Friday franchise’s rights.

Ronny Yu, the film’s director, provided vitality and style to the production that none of the individual franchises had. Unlike films like Jason Takes Manhattan, which had a questionable title, the picture delivers on its promises, and we see a lot of Freddy and Jason on screen.

It received mostly positive reviews from critics and fans for a Friday and Nightmare picture. In another video, we go over the entire Freddy series in depth, and we’ll put the link in the description. Please take a look at it.

The One in Space in Jason X (2001)

Jason Voorhees was arrested by the US government and held at the Crystal Lake Research Center, most likely after the events of Freddy vs. Jason. They tried everything they could to kill him for good, but they were never successful.

Finally, scientist Rowan LaFontaine argues that the only way to preserve the community from Jason’s fury is to put him into cryogenic sleep. Sergeant Marcus and Dr. Wimmer, on the other hand, feel that Jason’s body has regeneration abilities, and that new cells replace the dying ones quickly.

They try to research him, but Jason kills both of them. Rowan is able to cryogenically slumber him in a pod. Fast forward 445 years later, in 2455, humans have started to live on a new planet called Earth 2, and a group of researchers come to Earth and bump into the Crystal Lake research facility.

There, they find Jason and Rowan in cryogenic sleep and bring them onboard. Due to Jason’s than atomorphic appearance, they believe that he’s dead and leave him in the morgue but revive Rowan.

Jason wakes up from sleep and resumes his regular machete business. One by one, the bodies begin to pile up. However, the crew upgrades a robot names KM 14, which has weapons and advanced combat skills. KM 14 seemingly kills Jason by severing his limbs, ribs, and a part of his head.

A distress call is sent to the base and explosive charges set. However, Jason gets rebuilt by the ship’s nanites and is transformed into a cyborg. After an intense battle and loss of many lives in the process, the ship crashes on Earth 2, with Jason in it.

It is a fact that when you make too many films on a particular franchise, you run out of directions to lead the story. Remember watching Leprechaun 4: In Space or Hellraiser: Bloodline?

Jason had already been to Hell and back in the previous movie, so his two options were to go underwater or into space. Making a film underwater is more difficult than doing so on land, so the producers went with the obvious option.

They didn’t regard Jason as a supernatural being with heavenly abilities in this one, though. Instead, they gave him a biological edge and a background to go along with it.

The zombie creature was given a science fiction makeover, which included transforming him into a cyborg. This was the concluding act in the Friday the 13th series’ immensely entertaining ridiculous theatre. In 2009, however, there was more Jason Voorhees thanks to a sequel.

The Remake Friday the 13th (2009)

The Remake Friday the 13th (2009)

The filmmakers thought there was no fresh venue for Jason to continue his homicidal spree after taking him to locations like dreams, Hell, and space. As a result, they decided to simply recreate the original film using modern technology and a new cinematic style.

Jason witnesses a camp counsellor beheading his mother in this 2009 version, which begins on a similar premise. Instead of killing anybody who crosses his path, Jason kidnaps one of the teenagers because she looks like his mother. The plot then centres around the kidnapping and the individuals that come to find the girl, only to be slain in the process.

What the film lacked is creativity, vision, and ambition. The script was slightly fresh, but the kills were horribly stale and copied. When one makes a reboot, it is essential to bring new elements into the fore while staying grounded in the original piece of work. However, the 2009 iteration lacks creativity and imagination, which led to a cold critical and public response.

Friday the 13th: The Series (1987)

Friday the 13th The Series (1987)

When Friday the 13th: The Series first aired in 1987, audiences were taken aback since the renowned nemesis Jason Voorhees was barely mentioned. Creating a Friday series without Jason is equivalent to creating Aliens without Xenomorphs. It’s unthinkable and perhaps criminal. So, what makes you assume that? Micki Foster was played by Louise Robey, and Ryan was played by John D. LeMay.

Ryan and Micki were cousins who inherited Curious Goods, their uncle’s antique shop. The items in the store, on the other hand, were either cursed or had previously been utilised in occult operations carried out by the uncle; envision something along the lines of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home.

With the help of an occultist named Jack, the brother-sister duo set out to reclaim the sold articles so that no more lives were lost to the demons and ghosts. That’s not even remotely the story of Friday the 13th.

The reason for this anomaly is that the series was supposed to be titled The 13th Hour but series producer Frank Mancuso Jr, also the producer of Friday films, saw an opportunity to bathe in the glory and money of his film franchise. Nevertheless, the series, by itself, is worth watching due to its good acting and stories.
