    Netflix Has A Gaming Service?!

After hiring Oculus’ Content VP last month, it was only a matter of time until Netflix took the next step into gaming, and Stranger Things is a big part of that. According to Variety, Netflix has launched two Stranger Things games for Android in Poland as a preliminary launch.

Netflix’s video game plan promises that none of its games would have commercials or in-app sales, and that the titles will be included with a Netflix streaming plan. Available game titles for the Netflix Android app will appear under a new menu called “Play Mobile Games,” which will take users to the Google Play store to download them.

The first game is a port of BonusXP’s Stranger Things 3: The Game, which is available on Steam and is a companion game to the third season. Stranger Things: 1984 is the second game, and it’s a stylised, retro action-adventure game reminiscent of 1980s arcade games. Puzzles must be solved while Eggo Waffles and gnomes are collected along the way.

The Dead by Daylight Stranger Things DLC, which will be departing Steam in November, is currently on sale at Behaviour Interactive. Stranger Things’ fourth season is set to premiere in 2022.

Netflix had earlier revealed how it will “publish” video games in the near future, one month after making a cryptic announcement about a new gaming-centric strategy: as downloaded smartphone apps available only to paid video-streaming customers.

To view this material, launch Netflix’s Android app and log in with a Polish IP address, then open the region’s new “N Gaming” row of icons. Choose one of those games from the list, and the app will take you to their Google Play download pages. The aforementioned applications will ask for your Netflix credentials before loading, and they will not work unless you have a valid Netflix membership.

This is Netflix’s first push beyond movies and TV shows.
