New-Age Masked Slasher On The Prowl

Written and directed by production designer Jacob Johnston, ‘Dreamcatcher’ is all set to hit the big screen in March this year. Johnston has previously worked on films like ‘Ticket Like a Man’ and ‘Kadence’ and written two books on the art of Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2’. ‘Dreamcatcher’ is a thriller mystery film that centres around two estranged sisters coming together for a music festival that goes very wrong very fast.

    Plotline

DJ Dreamcatcher is on the verge of becoming world-famous when two estranged sisters, along with their friends, reach to watch him perform at an underground music festival, Cataclysm. Doing justice to its name, the festival turns into a night of violent and drug-fuelled game of escaping the masked killer. The film trailer looks promising with modern-day ‘Friday the 13th’ vibes and taking old school fans back to the glory days when films would use masked murderers to wreak havoc on screen. Fans expect a slasher film that pays true homage to icons like Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, and many more.

    New faces on screen

Starring Zackary Gordon, Niki Koss, Travis Burns, Olivia Sui, Blaine Kern III, Elizabeth Posey, Emrhys Cooper, Adrienne Wilkinson, Nazanin Mandi, and Lou Ferrigno Jr., the film is expected to be full of dread, bloodshed, and a splash of drugs. The cast mainly comprises people who have not yet done too many big shot films, but the trailer proves that it will not prevent them from delivering spine chilling performances.
