New Project In The Works For ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’

1996 horror-action ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ directed by Robert Rodriguez from Quentin Tarantino’s screenplay celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The film stars Tarantino himself, Danny Trejo, George Clooney, and Salma Hayek. For those not familiar with these names, Tarantino and Rodriguez are American directors that have worked on some of the most iconic films like ‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994) and ‘Spy Kids’ (2001), respectively. The film tells the story of brothers Seth and Richard Gecko that wind up in a topless bar after a bank robbery of theirs that goes sideways. Little do they know, the bar they have arrived at also happens to be a home base for a gang of blood-sucking vampires and that they must somehow fight their way out.

    All the details we have

Recently, director Rodriguez revealed that his television network El Rey, to which he holds the rights to together with Tarantino, is now working on an animated series on ‘From Dusk till Dawn.’ In 2014, this network came out with a Netflix show titled ‘From Dusk till Dawn: The Series’, starring Eiza González as Santanico Pandemonium, Zane Holtz as Richard Gecko, and DJ Cotrona as Seth Gecko. The story remains the same as the film, with a few additions to make the show three seasons long, but Richard wishes to expand the tale for his new project.

    From the man himself

Rodriguez has told SFX Magazine that he would love to take the classic and broaden its horizon to focus on the “Aztec vampire lore” brand. The Netflix show enjoys a 6.8 rating on IMDb, whereas the film sits at 7.2, and even though the Critics Consensus has called it a B-movie, they believe it is still a fun watch.
