New Year, Fangoria Throws Same Old Classic Horror To Indulge In

Internationally issued Fangoria is an American horror cinema fan magazine that has been around since 1979. Published quarterly by Fangoria Publishing LLC, with Editor Phil Nobile Jr. currently heading it, the magazine has delivered to their audience some of the most fulfilling horror content to consume. In 2018, producer Dallas Sonnier purchased the brand. Now they are working towards “paving the way for global creators to share their varied heritages and perspectives in never-before-seen storylines that will leave genre fans hungry for more.”

    What’s new in store?

Under this new ownership, Fangoria says goodbye to its old ways and adopts modern methods to continue reaching out to and connecting with its fans. They have announced the launch of ‘Fangoria Studios,’ developing podcasts and producing films and television. For this newly launched banner, they will be teaming up with ‘Circle of Confusion’, a management and production company that has discovered incredible talent through ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘John Wick,’ and ‘The Matrix’ franchise. The genre-driven projects will feature horror and its many sub-genres, such as sci-fi, thrillers, etc, and expand their horizon while doing so.

One door closing and another opening

As the magazine is getting ready to start a new chapter, fans remember some of the most timeless horror films featured on its cover. Iconic covers of this include ‘Motel Hell’, ‘American Warewolf in London,’ ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘Friday the 13th’, ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’ and many more. Fangoria has never shied away from gory and classic slasher style horror being explicitly featured. As long as magazines were a relevant entertainment source, parents most certainly would have objected to the R-rated content being available to children for consumption. Still, loyal fans have nothing but appreciation for the same.
