Payday 3 – Everything We Know So Far – An Upcoming Co-Operative First-Person Shooter Action Game

Welcome to another thrilling video, my wonderful gaming friends.

Everything we know about Payday 3 will be discussed today!

The Payday franchise has been without a new game for a very long time, but that is about to change. After Payday creator StarBreeze eventually climbed out of a financial hole by agreeing to a co-publishing deal with Koch Media, Payday 3’s future was secured.

We learned that Payday 3 would not be released until 2023 rather than 2022. Why? It is mainly due to problems that Overkill and publisher Starbreeze have had. Overkill’s The Walking Dead received such unfavorable reviews that the license was withdrawn and the game was removed from stores.

With the help of Overkill’s recent Payday 10th Anniversary webcast, which celebrated the release of the first game, we now know more about what to look forward to from Payday 3. Here is an overview of what we have learned.

Before we start yapping about the third part of the franchise, I must talk a bit about the same for those unfamiliar with the game’s style and setting.

Payday: The Heist and Payday 2 are cooperative first-person shooter action games with RPG elements. The numerous heists—some of which occur across several days and locations—are the game’s key element. There are several dramatic occurrences in these heists. For instance, guards’ patrol routes, the placement of safes and vaults, and the quantity of cash, intel, and treasure may all alter. The cops will attack with waves of adversaries during the theft to get rid of the gamers. Before the escape, the players must overcome them and finish the tasks. So that’s the basic gist about how the game is.

The Payday 3 odyssey began with a less-than-fantastic incident when Starbreeze’s management nearly escaped bankruptcy in 2019. The business then said it would be searching for a publishing partner to help pay for the game’s development.

Players also received their first glimpse of Starbreeze’s future plans for Payday 2 at that time. Specifically, that was essentially the time the 2013 game was revived. Since then, a tonne of cool DLC packs have been published, helping to pay for Payday 3 itself.

Starbreeze reaffirmed their commitment to creating Payday 3 later in 2020. The game was still in the early stages of development at the time, but the most crucial piece of information we learned was that it would utilise the Unreal Engine. For those who might not be familiar with Payday 2, that’s big news in and of itself.

Payday 2 is powered explicitly by the subpar Diesel 2.0. The original Payday and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter were both powered by the same engine. It runs poorly and does not scale properly, just like in 2013. Not to mention how poor a mod tool Diesel was. Unreal should be a significant improvement.

By the beginning of 2021, Starbreeze overcame all (or most) odds and emerged from its financial slump. “We have executed two capital raises during the year and paid off a large proportion of our debts, strengthened our financial position and thus enabling the continued successful development of Payday 3 in 2021,” said Starbreeze’s Q4 2020 financial report.

Things for Starbreeze kept getting better as 2021 wore on. Now that they were no longer in danger of going bankrupt, Starbreeze officially finalised its publishing agreement with Koch Media for the upcoming Payday 3. An established AA and AAA publishing business focusing on unique and deliciously janky titles is Koch Media, also known as THQ Nordic. That’s good news for the fans.

However, the largest Payday 3 reveal to date was included in the celebrations for the series’ tenth anniversary. Starbreeze recently began making significant revelations about their forthcoming heist shooter on YouTube.

For instance, we already know that New York will be the setting for Payday 3. With a particular emphasis on how the team wants each heist to seem like it’s simply a little piece of the enormous overworld rather than an instanced entity, Starbreeze aims to make its representation of the city “enormous” and “alive.”

Each level is supposed to be far more reactive than previously, according to the developers’ goal. Although the scope of these potential mid-level adjustments is not yet clear, it is undoubtedly an exciting possibility. Last but not least, we also know that Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf—the original four heisters—would return in Payday 3.

    Marvelous Verdict

    Marvelous Verdict

There you have it, then! For better or worse, that’s pretty much all the Payday 3 news we currently have. Unfortunately, information is still relatively scanty at this point. Still, with less than a year until the game is scheduled to debut, Starbreeze will undoubtedly start providing more specific data about their flagship release in the near(ish) future.

Of course, if you’re in the heisting mood right now, Payday 2 is available on Steam. At this time, it’s an ancient and out-of-date title, yet Starbreeze has continued to provide fresh content for its most devoted fans. So we think it’s more than adequate for a few runs now and then!
