Return Of The Ice Cream Man

Horror slasher film ‘The Ice Cream Man’ first hit the screens in 1995, starring Clint Howard, Olivia Hussey and Anndi McAfee. The Paul Norman directed film almost had a sequel planned in 2014 by Clint Howard titled ‘Ice Cream Man 2: Sundae Bloody Sundae’, but never made it to the production stage. The plot revolved around an unstable man who gets released from a psychiatric facility and opens his ice cream parlour, which he uses to murder his victims and turn them into recipes. A new adaptation of the film is in the works to be streamed on the American streaming platform Quibi.

    All the details we have

The original film was based on the same name comics, with the ice cream man himself as narrator. The show will be created by W Maxwell Prince, who wrote the comics, and will debut on April 6th. NBC Universal Content Studios division Universal Content Production (UCP) will be developing the series with executive producers Jake Wagner, Chris Bender, and Jake Weiner. With dark tales weaved up for his evil-minded amusements, the ice cream man will be taking a “dive deep into the suburban American psyche with stories that are timeless yet current, relatable yet strange, equal parts terrifying and ironic, and always end with a macabre twist”.

The show will stick to its theme of classic horror, but with each tale being different from another, it will also explore subgenres of fantasy and sci-fi. The sinister narration from the killer himself will involve him recalling many instances of tragedies weaved into eerie stories.
