Shoot Goal To The Future is another manga, whose TV adaptation will be released soon. Written by Tsukasa Oshima, the manga was published years ago in 1990 in the Weekly Shonen Magazine managed by Kodansha. A TV adaptation of the manga is in talks. Before its release let’s have a brief look at the storyline.
Toshi or Toshihiko used to play with his two friends-Kenji Shiraishi and Kazuhiro Hiramatsu. They were known as the golden trio. However, their game and friendship suffered a tragic fate. One of them- Hiramatsu faces restrictions from home, especially from his father. After a lot of pursuals, his father agrees to let him play, posing one condition, that he will perform well in academics too. The whole story follows Shiraishi becoming subject to his temper. He had to quit soccer because he loses temper and gets disqualified. Though he never gives up on his dreams and joins Kakegawa Hugh, the school team.
Seems like this isn’t the end of the hurdles. The team loses their idol Yoshiharo Kubo who was their captain also. He died as he played for his team and led it to victory. Initially, it becomes hard for the players to overcome the death of their captain. They even could not make it to the Nationals as they lack concentration now in absence of their idol. Though, later they realize that they have to realize the dream of their captain too. Hence, the path restarts.
Is there an anime adaptation for the manga series?
It has been confirmed that an anime television series. Before the release of an anime adaptation of the series, a movie has also released. The movie is known as Aoki Densetsu Shoot. The anime will take after the manga- Shoot, of which around 33 episodes have been released.
When will the anime adaptation be set to premiere?
The anime will be aired in the July of 2022. The number of episodes is unknown. The scriptwriters Noriyuki Nakamura and Mitsutaka Hirota are looking after the direction. EMT Squared studio is looking after the production. The series will initially release on platforms like- Tokyo MX, BS Fuji, TV Shizuoka, and AT-X. Crunchyroll has licensed the series.
What will follow in the anime adaptation?
The plot revolves around the sport- football. A passionate football player named Toshihiko Tanaka gets enrolled in Kakegawa High School in order to follow his passion. The prime reason for choosing this school is that he wants to play with his idol Yoshiharo Kubo, in an organized football association. Though he has to push his friends to form a proper team to play in the All-Japan High School Championship.
