Since it was released in 2018, Arola Lovering’s novel Tell Me Lies has captivated thousands of readers. If the complex narrative hasn’t won you over yet, we have good news: this autumn, it will be a Hulu Original series, and we have a first look at the irresistible trailer.
The plot revolves around Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), who were in a collegiate romance in 2007, but their all-consuming love story starts to fall apart in surprising and occasionally horrifying ways. Meaghan Oppenheimer, the show’s executive producer and showrunner, graciously provided Cosmo with some background information on what viewers may anticipate.
Plot- An examination of toxic relationships and the ways in which we degrade ourselves when we fall for the wrong people is presented in Tell Me Lies. When Lucy meets Stephen, she recognizes all the warning signs, but she chooses to ignore them, which sends her on a path that would cause her to lose her way utterly.
Along with Matt Matruski, Laura Lewis, and Stephanie Noonan, who executive produce for Rebelle Media, and Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer of VICE Studios, who executive produce for Vice-owned Refinery29, Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss will executive produce Tell Me Lies under the Belletrist Productions label. Jonathan Levine is also the pilot’s director and executive producer. As a consultant producer, Carola Lovering will participate.
