I believe that the fact that their paths crossed by fate opened up a whole new world for Hal and caused him to reevaluate both his present and potential future selves.
Vickers explains one of the most intricate episodes in Rings of Power on the Sundering Seas, which takes place halfway between Aman and Middle-earth, in the comments above. This grants Celebrimbor additional abilities and magics. Unfortunately for the main antagonist from The Lord of the Rings, this plan only partially works. Under Sauron’s wicked power, the monarchs of men naturally collapse like paper, but the dwarves prove too resilient to corrupt, and the elves are smart enough to take their rings off just in time.
The pointy-eared people triumph in the war, which is mostly between Sauron and the elves and is waged between Middle-earth and Valinor, due to reinforcements from Nmenor, an island of blessed men. Sauron will undoubtedly appear in The Rings of Power given his prominent position throughout The Second Age of The Lord of the Rings. The SDCC 2022 video has now confirmed this by explicitly addressing the Dark Lord after previously skirting the subject. The question of how and when that appearance occurs is more crucial.
A pivotal exchange between Galadriel and Elrond can be seen in the Rings of Power trailer. Galadriel warns that an enemy is approaching, and Elrond reassures her that the combat is done. Their conversation may have indicated that The Rings of Power takes place in the Second Age around the year 1400, and that Amazon’s TV show will gradually build up to Annatar’s entrance, the making of the Rings (thus the title), and the ensuing war between Sauron and the elves. The Rings of Power, on the other hand, casts Isildur and Elendil as well (Maxim Baldry and Lloyd Owen, respectively), laying the groundwork for how Sauron corrupts Nmenor before its ultimate demise.
It would feel strange to start The Rings of Power in a time where Sauron has already been taken prisoner by Nmenor without first revealing how he got there.
