The Night House, directed by David Bruckner of The Ritual fame, stars Rebecca Hall in a terrifying horror movie from Searchlight Pictures.
The Night House, Searchlight Pictures’ latest horror film, has received a second trailer. The Night House, starring Rebecca Hallas a heartbroken widow striving to unearth her late husband’s unsettling secrets, promises to be a tense encounter. The minute-long trailer doesn’t tell us much about the film, but it does have a number of terrifying scenes. The Night House, which combines sadness with supernatural horror, looks to be a hard-hitting thriller that will stay with audiences long after the credits have rolled.
In the movie, Beth, played by Rebecca Hall is left alone in the lakeside mansion her husband constructed for her after his untimely death. She does her best to maintain her composure, but then the dreams begin. Visions of a presence in the house calling to her, enticing her with a ghostly appeal, disturbing her while she is already in an emotionally fragile state. Against her friends’ advice, she begins searching through her husband’s stuff in search of answers. What she discovers are weird and terrible truths, which she is eager and adamant to solve.

In a scary voiceover in the video, Beth explains, “All places where men have lived and died are haunted houses.” A bone-chilling scene of Beth being dragged across the home by an unknown force is also included. The Night House received acclaim from critics and spectators alike when it opened at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. “Audiences could be heard shouting from outside the cinema,” according to reports. While the trailer suggested a slow-burn horror, “screaming” audience members think the picture is more than meets the eye. Hall’s outstanding performance and Bruckner’s execution has received particularly high appreciation.
