Jake Gyllenhaal Helms Netflix’s The Guilty

The Guilty will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month before being released in theatres and on Netflix in the coming weeks. Given this timetable, I’m wondering if Netflix is hoping to generate Oscar excitement for this film.

Jake Gyllenhaal has teamed up with Antoine Fuqua and Nic Pizzolatto on a new project. They’ve unveiled The Guilty, a new Netflix thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This project is an American remake of a popular Danish thriller from 2018. We now have access to the Netflix trailer and poster, which you can see below.

In addition, star Jake Gyllenhaal released the first teaser for the frightening thriller on Instagram. The actor’s post invited fans to contact an unknown phone number to learn more about The Guilty. On the same day, the identical number was sighted in skywriting above Los Angeles.

He wrote that according to Netflix, viewers were urged to learn more about The Guilty’s fascinating mystery by dialling a phone number and listening to the first heart-stopping phone call between 911 operator Joey Baylor and a mysterious woman named Emily.

Fans can immerse themselves in the universe of The Guilty by looking at the sky in LA and OC or following clues on Instagram. She’s going all out to promote this one. Netflix appears to believe they have a smash on their hands with this one.

The movie takes place in a 911 dispatch contact centre over the course of a single morning. Joe Baylor, played by Gyllenhaal is a call centre operator who tries to save a caller who is in great danger—but he soon learns that nothing is as it seems, and that embracing the truth is the only way out.

With the amount of buzz this one’s getting, we can’t wait to see it and hope it lives up to the hype!
