This eight-episode cooking competition is based around baking and engineering – each episode of Baking Impossible presents the contestants with a challenge that combines baking with engineering. The show is presented by host Justin William, with judges Andrew Smyth, Joanne Chang, and Hakeem Oluseyi.
The contestants compete in pairs for a grand prize of $1000,000. In each pair, one contestant specializes in engineering, while the other in baking. None of the contestants know each other. The contestants are allotted 8 hours to build their creations, which are then stress tested and evaluated by the judges.
At the end of each episode, one team is eliminated; while the winning team of an episode gets an advantage over the others in the next episode – like being able to preview the stress test before the other teams or get to attempt the stress test more than once. It is not often that you see reality TV shows rewarding contestants’ careful engineering skills, and much less seeing those creations being picked apart by a fork.
