“The plane went down… Several of our pals perished… The rest of us then went hungry and scavenged.” So started the official teaser for Showtime’s “Yellowjackets,” a survival drama in which Karyn Kusama who is most notably known for Jennifer’s Body and The Invitation directed the pilot episode.

The entire official trailer is now available, which includes a lot more video footage. It is listed below.

Yellowjackets tells the story of a group of incredibly gifted high school girls soccer players who become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash in the middle of nowhere.

The series follows their transformation from a complex but thriving group to savage clans, as well as the lives they’ve sought to piece back together nearly 25 years later, illustrating that the past is never truly gone and that what began in the forest is far from ended.

The movie spans a wide timeline as the crash happens when the girls are just teenagers but this story is told and also showcases the main characters as older women 25 years after the horrific incident.

It gives me Lord of The Flies vibes just right off the bat however, this series could be hiding somethings up its sleeve that we do not know about yet.

Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, known for his work on Narcos devised the series, which is billed as equal parts a survival epic, a psychological horror narrative, and a coming-of-age drama.

Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Melanie Lynskey star in the series in key roles.

Jonathan Lisco, known for Animal Kingdom, Halt and Catch Fire will serve as executive producer and showrunner alongside Lyle and Nickerson. The first episode of the series will air on November 14th this year. We will catch this one, will you?
