Collaborators of the psychological horror anthology Castle Rock are all set to team up once again for a new project of the same genus. King is one of the best-selling authors of books of the supernatural, fantasy and horror and his works have been adapted to screen countless number of times. Some of his most famous novels are It (1986), The Shining (1977), Pet Cemetery (1983), Doctor Sleep (2013) and Salem’ Lot (1975). JJ Abrams, on the other hand, is an American filmmaker who mostly works with genres of action and science fiction. Together, the two have come up with the genius of a show called Castle Rock that is based on King’s novel of the same name and tells some of his most-loved dark tales.
What King had to say on collaborating with Abrams for the horror genre once again:
Although Castle Rock was cancelled by Hulu after two seasons, King and Abrams are not working on developing another anthology of “tiny horror”. In conversation with The Wrap, King revealed that he and Abrams have discussed the nitty-gritties of really terrifying tales and they might just incorporate it into a series of its own. Calling this possibility a “passion project” and talking about how much he loves to work with Abrams, King said that their relationship is built on their love for the supernatural which started all the way back when they came together to work on Lost, a TV show about stranded passengers of a plane crash.
