On March 26, 2021, Netflix viewers across the world will come across the world of Sherlock Holmes. However, things are different this time. Writer and executive producer Tom Bidwell (My Mad Fat Diary, Watership Down) has laced the plot with dark, mysterious, and supernatural elements. A gang of troubled street teens is manipulated to solve crimes by Holmes and Watson in this eight-part dark drama. When the crimes begin to mingle with these supernatural forces, the Irregulars must unite to defeat them. Starring, Theaddea Graham (Us, Letter For the King), Jojo Macari (Sex Education), Darci Shaw (The Bay, Judy), Harrison Osterfield (Catch 22), and McKell David (Snatch). Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Killing Eve) wears the shoes of Sherlock Holmes while Clarke Peters (The Wire), and Royce Pierreson (The Witcher) play John Watson and The Linen Man respectively.
Trailer Breakdown for the film:
The trailer opens with what looks like a map of the renowned Baker Street. We see a glowing blue light travel across the paper with a mysterious voiceover. Victorian London is set to witness horror which “moves through the streets like the shadow of a nightmare”. Various imageries show the light move through magnifying glasses and across tarot cards, while scenes from the series are depicted; one of which shows a girl lying on the ground with blood splattered over her eyes. With the series of demonic murders, an unusual group, known as The Irregulars, must stand against the horror. The trailer ends with the shot of a blue door with a doorplate that reads “221 B Baker Street”.

Sherlock Holmes has stood the test of time with its ever-increasing popularity. Viewers are eager to delve into the world they fell in love with one more time and the dark twist adds the icing on the cake. Greg Brenman (executive producer of Peaky Blinders) happens to be one of the executive producers of ‘The Irregulars’ as well, thus, ensuring a high-end experience for the viewers.
