Classic Monsters To Get Premium Action Figures By NECA

The National Entertainment Collectibles Association, is working on a line of action figures of Universal Monsters with Frankenstein’s monster and The Mummy previewed to us so far. The latest addition to the previews is The Wolf Man from the 1941 film with Lon Chaney Jr.

    What sets NECA apart

NECA, an American manufacturers of collectibles in the domains of music, films, sports, video games, and television. The company is based out of New Jersey, and was founded it 1996. The official licenses for over 60 titles to produce official merchandise are with NECA. While there are many toys of the Universal Monsters series, what sets the new NECA releases apart is the authentic actor likeness and also digital face printing in black and white grayscale. Typically, we have seen figures based on black and white movies painted in flat Gray shades, including NECA’s own Sin City line up, and the teasers for the new releases show us a much-awaited departure from that trend.

Why we’re excited and what we know so far

Some weeks ago, NECA had unveiled the black and white action figure of 1931’s Frankenstein’s Monster, celebrating 90 years of the classic. The classic figure captured Boris Karloff’s portrayal of the misunderstood monster. Standing 7 inches tall and to scale, the figure is to be released in premium anniversary packaging with plenty of accessories including 3 interchangeable heads, 6 interchangeable hands, shackles and daisies. The Frankenstein figure is expected to ship late June or early July of this year. While quite is known about the Frankenstein figure, not much is known about the specific details of the The Mummy and Wolf Man figures, the teasers do keep us biting nails eagerly waiting for more details.
