The drama follows Easton West, a globally known but temperamental celebrity chef, as he falls from grace in Australia’s gorgeous Adelaide Hills wine area, with a cast of various international people. He returns to his hometown, humiliated, with the help of his gifted, young pastry chef niece Diana, to try to repair his profession and reputation.
Easton recognizes Diana as everything he isn’t – young, feminine, and inexperienced – and takes her under his wing in an attempt to claw his way back to importance. The aftertaste is a darkly comedic film that shows the international relevance and attractiveness of ‘foodie culture.’
