If you are fans of monster films, we urge you to not get carried away by Godzilla vs Kong this month. While it is one of the most anticipated films of Q1 of 2021, another monster film is lurking just around the corner and it is called Dawn of the Beast. The film is hitting DVD and VOD on April 6th via Uncork’d Entertainment and the trailer has just dropped.
Dawn of the Beast is directed by Bruce Wemple (Lake Artifact, 2018) and written by Anna Shields (Monstrous, 2020). The film stars Chris Cimperman (The Retreat, 2020), Anna Shields, Grant Schumacher (Whelm, 2019), Francesca Anderson (Are We Still Playing, 2018), Ariella Mastroianni (A Message for Jones, 2019), Roger M Mayer (Antibirth, 2016), LeJon Woods (Old Fashioned, 2014), Adrián Burke (Younger, 2018) and Willard Morgan (Baby, 2007).
What we saw in the trailer:
The trailer opens with a young girl admiring a pendant she has put on, while simultaneously overloading the visuals with ominous sounds. Soon, we see the girl getting dragged away in a forest and fast forward to a group of students that have arrived at the very same forest to study mythical folklore animals. One of the girls from the group stumbles upon a rotten skeleton and it has the very same pendant around its neck. Their professor warns them about the dangers of the forest while names like Bigfoot and the Wendigo are thrown about. While locals warn the tourists of Bigfoot, they find out through an old book about the dangers of the Wendigo that possesses people and turns them into scary, almost hollow-looking zombies.

Analysis:
As the trailer almost comes to an end, the gore levels go on increasing and it is clear that the film will be a survival horror where hardly one or two people survive in the end. The final few seconds of the trailer show Bigfoot and the Wendigo lock horns and as the air is filled with roaring and screeching of the creatures, the trailer ends. It was a satisfactory clip, giving all the right details about the film, but we hope it has not given us all the details, leaving nothing for the film. Worst case scenario, the trailer will be enough if you want to watch the film and best case scenario, the film has even more content waiting for us.
