    James Wan’s New Deep-Sea Horror Sequel The Trench Has Been Canceled

    The horror of the Deep won’t be handled anytime soon. Warner Bros. and DC’s upcoming schedule is moving forward without James Wan’s Aquaman sequel, The Trench.

    Warner Bros. and DC said that some heritage growth titles, including The Trench, will not be moving forward as part of their DC slate. They thanked their partners, Peter Safran and James Wan, for their time and partnership during this procedure and looked forward to their continued collaboration with them on other DC stories. The plan would remain in their expert hands if they were to move forward in the future.

    The dreadfulness sequel followed the lethal amphibious living being from Wan’s Aquaman. Wan produced Aidan Fitzgerald and Noah Gardner’s script with Peter Safran.

    DC has left the door open to reconsider the film in the future. But sources say when DC’s upcoming schedule didn’t have a natural advert for The Trench, execs thought it was best not to leave Wan hanging in growth Hell. The dreadful sequel was well-thought-out for streaming, but it’s more of a separate story without a robust tie to the DC universe. Sources also say Wan’s upcoming film Aquaman 2 is enough.

    The Story

    Aquaman stars Patrick Wilson, Jason Momoa, and Willem Dafoe. Once the most progressive sophistication on Earth, Atlantis is now a sunken kingdom ruled by the power-crazy King Orm. With a massive army at his removal, Orm plans to defeat the enduring oceanic people and the external world. Up righting in his way are Aquaman, Orm’s half-Atlantean, half-human brother, and true successor to the power. Aquaman must recover the fabled Trident of Atlan With help from royal therapist Vulko, and carry on his fortune as guardian of the deep. The producer of Aquaman, Peter Safran, told back in March 2019 that the sequel would come out well in advance of Aquaman 2.
