Netflix anime fans may look forward to Spring 2022, owing to the revelation that Wit Studio’s most recent film Bubble will be available internationally in April. We have all you need to know about Bubble right here, including the plot, trailers, cast news, and Netflix release date.
Bubble is a Netflix Original anime film directed by Tetsurou Araki and written by Gen Urobochi that will be released later this year. Bubble is being produced by Wit Studio, the same animation studio that brought us Attack on Titan, and if the teaser is any indication, it will be a visual extravaganza.
Takeshi Obata, the Death Note character designer, and Bakuman are both working on the characters for Bubble. Bubble will be distributed internationally by Netflix, but in Japan by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Tetsuro Araki, the director and author of the film, is best known for his work on the popular Attack on Titan anime series. Gen Urobuchi, on the other hand, is the creator of a number of well-known anime series, including Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass, and Fate/Zero.
“The plot is set in Tokyo, after bubbles that defied gravity showered down onto the planet,” according to the premise. Tokyo now cut off from the rest of the world, has been transformed into an almost-playground for a group of some young people who have lost their families, as well as a battleground for parkour teams leaping from building to building.
Hibiki, a teenage ace known for his daring style of play, takes a chance and falls into the weightless water one day. He is saved by Uta, a suspiciously powerful female who appears out of nowhere. Hiroyuki Sawano composed the film’s score. “Bubble feat. Uta” is the opening theme song, performed by Eve, and “Jaa ne, Mata ne.” (, “See You, Catch You Later.”) is the ending theme song, performed by Riria, who voices Uta in the film.
