The novel series was written by Quantum and published by Kakuyomu. It was first published in January 2017 and is still ongoing.

Later, the same author adapted it into a light novel series, which was illustrated by Hana Amano. Fujimi Shobo publications published the light novel, which was released in December 2017. It has been released in three volumes thus far, and work on more is currently underway. Nori Kazato illustrated the manga adaptation, which was titled under the Seinen genre.

The manga’s plot revolves around a hero named Leo. Leo Demonhart does not achieve a hero’s status after saving humanity from the vile Demon King. Those he fought to protect, on the other hand, see him with suspicion and hostility. Exiled Leo, seen as a pariah with nowhere else to turn, seeks to find employment in the army of his former foe! But the army isn’t what it was before Leo’s defeat, so Leo will have to whip the forces back into fighting form if he wants to keep his new position.

The Army had a number of issues, including too much work, financial difficulties, and so on. Leo begins to use his abilities to improve things. Meanwhile,  Leo runs across Echidna again and inquires about her invasion of the human world.
