In fiction, even the most idyllic surroundings might hide some dark secrets. “Summer Time Rendering.” an upcoming anime series, is based on this premise. You won’t want to miss this when it releases if you appreciate a gripping mystery with plenty of jumps scares and gore, as well as a healthy dose of “Naruto”-style action.
“Summer Time Rendering” is an adaptation of Yasuki Tanaka’s manga series, which ran from October 2017 to February 2021 and was released in 13 volumes. The first news that the manga will be adapted into an anime was made in the manga’s 139th and last issue, so fans didn’t have to wait long to find out.
A lot more material regarding “Summertime Rendering” has been available since the last issue was published. The following is a rundown of all we know about the upcoming anime series.
What is the release date for Summer Time Rendering?
On Thursday, April 14th, 2022, the first episode of Summertime Rendering will air. After that, every Thursday, new episodes will be released.
In Japan, the first episode will air at midnight on Tokyo MX. The series has been licensed by Disney, but there has been no word on when it will be released to international audiences.
We’re hoping that Disney will follow the same release schedule as shows on Crunchyroll and recent Netflix releases, where episodes are released weekly. What is the plot of Summer Time Rendering?
Shinpei Ajiro lived with the Kofune sisters, Mio and Ushio after his parents died, but he now lives alone in Tokyo. However, after Ushio drowns while attempting to save Shiori Kobayakawa, he goes home to grieve her loss. However, bruising around Ushio’s neck raised doubts about her cause of death.
When Shinpei takes a step back, he realizes there must be another explanation. Dangerous creatures roam among the islanders, and a vision of Ushio, who has passed away, asks him to “save Mio” as her final wish. He’s convinced that something is going on and that Ushio’s death is just one piece of the puzzle.
Shinpei fights to keep himself, his friends, and his family alive with the support of Mio and others. However, the more he investigates it, the less feasible such a scenario appears to be. His home island is infiltrated by this darkness. How much more misery will he have to endure before he finds the correct path to save everything?
In terms of genre, “Summer Time Rendering” is a supernatural mystery-thriller with elements of both horror and action. While the story is chock full of suspense, there’s also plenty of action along the way, too.
Is there an Official Trailer for Summer Time Rendering?
Yes! So far, two trailers have been released. The first one was a brief and abrupt glimpse of the manga – starting from happy, slice-of-life anime scenes to taking a serious note and turning static, showing ominous dialogues and violence.
The official trailer 2 gives in more insight into the plot – getting to hear firsthand about a shadow disease by an old man who looks like a native of the town our protagonist, Shunpei, is from.
We also get a look at two new characters whose dialogues only confuse the watcher as the trailer shifts to random bloody scenes, clips of the sea at different angles, shots of Ushio before her death, and a number of other cuts from the first trailer as well. All of it is mysterious, difficult to understand, and all the more thrilling as we are compelled to know more and of course – pick up the series as well.
