The Duke of Death and His Maid is back with its new season. J.C.S- a Japanese animation studio looked after the production of Season one. The anime television series takes after the Japanese manga The Duke of Death and His Maid- a romantic comedy manga. Koharu Inoue wrote and illustrated the series.
The manga followed the publication in the Japanese youth magazine- Sunday Webry, managed by Shogakukan. The last and fourteenth volume of the manga was published on November 12, 2021.
As season second is soon to be released, let’s go through the episodes which happened in Season One. The plot revolves around the Duke- Bo Chan, who has been cursed since childhood by the witch. Everything which he will touch will be dead. His curse became the reason for his family to live in isolation.
Duke is close with his maid- Alice, and is constantly worried about her, as she keeps on flirting and tries to come closer. The series also introduced to us another character- Philip, who is Duke’s friend. As the story slowly proceeds, we see that all the other members of the mansion start returning to live with the Duke. First comes the Butler and then Viola.
Duke goes out in the city with Alice, as he loses to her in a game. He makes sure to wear multiple layers and is thrilled by the crowd, as he is only used to isolation. Alice and Bo-Chan continue their events, where she tries to kiss Bo-Chan and he immediately maintains his distance.
Though after all the incidents, Duke and Alice continue to work together. Together with Cuff and Zain, they go to infiltrate the witch’s meeting. As they meet the witch Sabato, they learn that the witch who has cast the curse has died already and there is no way to lift the curse.
Though one-day Voila finds journals of the servants and forwarded them to Alice. Dulles realizes this and threatens Alice using Zayn to dispose of the journal. Will Alice listen and let go of the only opportunity to cure the Duke?
When will the anime The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2 is set to sir?
The debut season aired from October July 2021 to September 2021. The news regarding the season second has been confirmed by the animation house on February 2, 2021. The next season will air in 2023.
The cast has been revealed which includes Yoshinobu Yamakawa as the director. Hideki Shirane who is working on the scripts, and Michiru Kuwabata designing the characters. The music is composed by Gen Okuda and Takeshi Watanabe. Season one aired on Tokyo MX, BS 11, and ytv- Japanese television platforms.

As season one came to an end, we saw that the Duke met his mother. He was seen as nervous before the meeting. He felt more troubled when it came to addressing Alice and his relationship with his mother. He conveys his actual feelings for Alice and says he plans to marry her. Though his mother Gerbera refuses to accept it saying he can’t marry a maid.
The series introduced to us many characters like- the Duke of Death, who is a young cursed boy by a witch. Alice Lendrott flirts with the Duke and is also his childhood friend. Rob is Duke’s butler. Viola is Duke’s youngest sister. Walter- Duke’s younger brother. Cuff- a young witch. Zain is a wizard, and always a topic for witches. Daleth- leader of the witches. Sharon Lendrott- Alice’s mother. Gerbera- Duke’s mother abandoned him after he got cursed, and at last Sade- the main antagonist.
In the latest season which is to be released, the fans will finally come to know about the fate of Alice of the Duke. Gerbera’s reaction to the marriage, if it happens, will also be revealed. Alongside this, the main question from the past season remains unsolved. The curse of the Duke will be lifted or not? And if yes, what obstacles the duo will have to face?
The season is worth a watch as the rom-com totally wins fan hearts.
