The sun is shining, the temperature is increasing, and only one thing can be certain: summer is on its way. And with summer comes July, or, more importantly, Christmas in July for festive enthusiasts!
It’s that time of year again, when Hallmark begins celebrating the winter holidays six months early with a special Christmas in July programming extravaganza. This year’s festival will take place throughout July, with several brand-new films premiering on the Hallmark Channel.
Campfire Christmas, My Grown-Up Christmas List, and Christmas in Toyland are among the films on the list. These flicks will be joined by a slew of classic favourites, all of which will be released throughout the month.
Christmas has arrived a little earlier this year, thanks to the Hallmark Channel!
Crown Media Family Networks announced on Wednesday that Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will host its annual “Christmas in July” programming event. The week-long event, which runs from June 24 to July 30, will feature holiday-themed films all day and night.
Three additional original films have been added to the roster for this year’s holiday extravaganza: My Grown-Up Christmas List, Campfire Christmas, and Christmas in Toyland.
Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart) and Kevin McGarry (The Wedding Veil) feature in My Grown-Up Christmas List, which premieres on July 9th. The film follows journalist Taylor (Wallace) and military veteran Luke (McGarry) as they “enjoy a special friendship that emerges between them over the span of five Christmases spent together and apart,” according to the network.
Tori Anderson (NCIS: Hawai’i), Corbin Bleu (Love, for Real), and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman feature in Campfire Christmas, which premieres on July 16th (Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.). According to a synopsis for the film, “romance rekindles for Peyton (Anderson) and her closest pals when her parents decide to organise a holiday-themed reunion before selling their family-owned summer camp,” which is the network’s first-ever holiday film with a Christmas in July theme.
Finally, on July 23, Christmas in Toyland will premiere. The film stars Vanessa Lengies (Turner & Hooch) and Jesse Hutch (Batwoman).
“A data analyst (Lengies) and toy store manager (Hutch) must work together to keep the in-store experience alive to save hundreds of jobs shortly before Christmas,” a description begins.
This year’s lineup includes the return of fan-favorite flicks throughout daily merry-thons, which will run from July 1 to July 31. For the first weekend, Hallmark fans may have a voice in which films air by voting in new weekly polls on the Hallmark Movie Checklist app, which will be available every Monday until June 19.
Crashing Through the Snow, starring Amy Acker and Warren Christie, was one of the previous “Christmas in July” films. The film had its debut at last year’s festival.
Vanessa Lengies is a Canadian actress, dancer, and singer who was born on July 21, 1985. She is well recognised for her role as Roxanne Bojarski in the drama American Dreams. She played Charge Nurse Kelly Epson on TNT’s medical drama HawthoRNe, and Sugar Motta in the third, fourth, and sixth seasons of Fox’s Glee. On Turner & Hooch, Lengies recently played Erica.
Jesse Hutch is a Canadian actress who has worked in both film and television. He divides his time between the United States and Canada. He played Jimmy Riley, the romantic interest of the main character Meg Pryor, on the television drama American Dreams (Brittany Snow). In 2007, he starred in the Sci-Fi Channel TV movie Termination Point as a significant character. He most recently appeared in the second season of Arrow and the second season of Batwoman, in which he played a recurring character.
Christmas in Toyland is directed by Bill Corcoran and will be released on July 23, 2022. This film will last for 1 hour and 24 minutes and will be available in English. The film’s star cast includes Vanessa Lengies, Jesse Hutch, Lara Amersey, Jane Moffat, and Benjamin Sutherland.
