Stranger Things Is Coming To A Close With Season 4 Says David Harbour

While promoting Black Widow, David Harbour discussed the forthcoming season of Stranger Things, implying that the much-loved show will come to a “certain” end.

David Harbour’s future in Stranger Things season four appeared gloomy after his character’s apparent death at the end of season three. A preview for the next season revealed that fan favourite Jim Hopper was alive and well in a Russian work camp. Harbour was thrilled to discuss the “bigger and better” new season as well as hint a “certain finish” coming to the series while on the promotional tour for his forthcoming cameo as Red Guardian in Black Widow.

David Harbour told Collider that the final season is “larger” than all of the others. In terms of extent, scale, and even the notion are no longer in Hawkins. Additionally, the season will be longer. They’re also introducing new material, as well as tightening and wrapping it up in a precise way, in order to give it a clear, distinct, and definite finale at some point, which he claimed he can’t really discuss.

In a previous interview, Harbour hinted that the upcoming season would delve deeper into some of Jim Hopper’s past that was briefly touched on in season 2.

When Jim Hopper appeared to sacrifice himself at the end of season 3, many fans were shocked, and for a brief moment, it appeared that Stranger Things had come to a close. Then there was the final scene, which took place in a bizarre facility where they talked about “the American.” Fans immediately suspected who “the American” was, and it was shown to be Hopper. Habour said the current season is his favourite since the character is “at his purest” now that he’s out of his comfort zone. He’s been imprisoned in Russia, so the writers get to reimagine him. He will be reborn from the ashes of what he had been, and the team had always prepared for this near-resurrection.

Stranger Things season four has yet to be given a release date by Netflix, but with filming already underway, we should expect to see the new episodes sometime next summer at the earliest.
