Where To Watch “Grantchester: Season 7 (2022)”?

Plot- The series picks up in the long hot summer of 1959 with wedding season in full swing in the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester.

As the Reverend Will Davenport unites happy couples in holy matrimony, Detective Inspector Geordie Keating is busy as ever investigating a range of local murder cases. With a new decade just around the corner, the question of what the future holds is on everyone’s minds, not least Will’s, but before the 50s roll over into the swinging sixties there are some crimes to solve and some life-changing decisions to be made that might change life in Grantchester forever.

“Grantchester: Season 7” is based on a book. The Grantchester Mysteries, a series of six volumes of short tales by James Runcie, are a good alternative if you can’t wait till season seven to get your taste of vicarly investigation. The primary character of Grantchester during the first four seasons (played by James Norton) until Will Davenport (Tom Brittney) was introduced, Sidney Chambers, is the subject of the books. Runcie’s father, Robert Runcie, a former archbishop of Canterbury, served as some of the novels’ inspiration.

It looks that the core ensemble of Grantchester, including Tom Brittney’s Reverend Will Davenport and Robson Green’s DI Geordie Keating, will be back for the upcoming season, which is fantastic news for the show’s viewers. There have also been announcements of the return of other favorites including Tessa Peake-Jones (Mrs. Chapman), Al Weaver (Leonard Finch), Kacey Ainsworth (Cathy Keating), Oliver Dimsdale (Daniel Marlowe), and Nick Brimble (Jack Chapman).

Fans of British television may know Charlotte Ritchie as Barbara from Call the Midwife as one famous guest performer who has been announced for season 7. Photos featured in the Daily Mail show a significantly different appearance from the adored nurse she portrayed on Call the Midwife, including a wavy blonde haircut, however the specifics of her character have not yet been made public.

And while Tom Brittney will continue to solve crimes as Grantchester’s beloved vicar, he is now adding director to his list of accomplishments this season. To give fans even more to look forward to, he will specifically be directing episode three of the upcoming season.
