An American animated streaming television programme called The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse is created by Disney Television Animation for Disney+. With the exception of the late Russi Taylor, who is replaced by Kaitlyn Robrock in the character of Minnie Mouse, the series is a continuation and revival of the Emmy Award-winning 2013 Mickey Mouse shorts, maintains the same aesthetic, and has much of the same cast and crew. To commemorate Mickey’s 92nd birthday, the series debuted on November 18, 2020. Mercury Filmworks is responsible for the animation.
Disney+ debuted two short films per week from November 18 to December 18. Ten more shorts debuted starting on July 28 and ran until August 25, 2021.
The Wonderful Winter of Mickey Mouse, the first of four anthology specials that make up the second season, which began airing on February 18, 2022, was announced as the series’ renewal in November 2021. On March 25, 2022, the second Mickey Mouse special, The Wonderful Spring of Mickey Mouse, was released. On July 8, 2022, the third episode of The Wonderful Summer of Mickey Mouse will air.

The most recent season of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse retains a lot of the show’s endearing humour and eccentricity. Additionally, it’s amusing to watch as each member of the Mickey Mouse club gets their chance to shine, demonstrating the idea that everything is better when shared with friends.

The series received a favourable review from Patrick Cavanaugh of ComicBook.com, who called it “nothing but joy and excitement […] loaded with laugh-out-loud comedy, contemporary locales, timeless stories, new music, and the unmistakably classic art style of the Mickey Mouse shorts.” Ethan Anderton of SlashFilm praised the animation for its resemblance to vintage animated shorts and praised the humour of the two shows, writing, “Not only is the animation outstanding, but it’s pretty funny too.” He also called the creation of Mickey Mouse and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse the “best thing Disney has done with the trademark character outside of the theme parks in a long time.”
Firstpost’s FP Staff gave the series a favourable review, noting that it has “nostalgic value as old characters resurface,” termed the animation “whimsical,” and thought the program was enjoyable. Common Sense Media’s Emily Ashby gave the program a score of three out of five, finding it acceptable for the characters to be friends and praising the humour and storytelling in the series “The emphasis of this programme is on telling enjoyable and humorous tales. […] Because of the characters’ roles and the location of the plot, some episodes contain subtle stereotypes, but they are always intended to be humorous.”
