Creepshow Season 3 Is Ready For Our Screens!

Shudder, the horror streaming service was introduced 2015. And now, its Stephen King and George A Romero anthology Creepshow, has already been renewed for a third season.

Creepshow began as a light-hearted violent horror film directed by Romero, in which King had his first taste of screenwriting, adapting some of his short stories and composing new ones to create a homage to 1950s EC horror comics such as Tales from the Crypt. The original film was a smash when it was released in 1982, grossing $21 million on a $8 million budget, making it the highest grossing Warner Bros. horror film of the year. Despite mixed reviews, a sequel was released in 1987. In 2016, a secondsequel was produced and it received a 0 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

While this would normally be enough to kill any brand recognition, Creepshow 3 was watched by so few people that it allowed Shudder to pick up the franchise as an anthology series. The first season of Creepshow premiered in 2019 and erased the barely discernible memory of the third film, earning a 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes approval and became one of the finest reasons to pick up a Shudder subscription.

Season 3 of Creepshow was ordered in February, and it was revealed at Comic-Con that the new episodes will launch on September 23. The next season will include twelve brand new stories spread across six episodes, one of which is titled “Mums” and is based on a short story by Joe Hill, song of Stephen King.

Nicotero also teased episodes known as “Meter Reader,” a nod to The Exorcist, “The Last Subaraya,” which sees an art dealer discover a rare painting that isn’t going to bring him any good luck, “Drug Traffic,” which depicts a monstrous night for a border patrol agent, and “Queen Bee,” which depicts what happens when some kids try to get shots of a pop idol’s new baby to a paparazzi.

On September 23, the new season of Creepshow premieres on Shudder.
