    Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Will Star Idris Elba As Knuckles

    In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Idris Elba will officially be voicing Knuckles the Echidna. Knuckles is in the next sequel to the video game adaption, but despite earlier reports, we haven’t gotten an official confirmation from the studio. On Instagram, Elba stated through a post that he is the voice of Knuckles, which also confirms that Knuckles will appear in the movie.

    Knuckles’ inclusion in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 isn’t a surprise, as most fans expected it by now. On the set, there was a statue of Knuckles that appeared to be a prop for the movie, near to statues of Sonic and Tails. Online, a storyline synopsis suggested that Knuckles played a major role in the sequel’s plot, even though Paramount Pictures refused to comment on the report.

    Idris Elba being the actor cast in this film to play knuckles did come as a surprise. It was previously reported that Jason Momoa, the Aquaman and Game of Thrones star, was being considered for a voiceover role.

    After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation, states the story summary for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. However, no sooner have they left, Dr. Robotnik reappears, this time with a new companion, Knuckles, in search of an emerald with the ability to both construct and destroy civilizations. Sonic partners up with his own sidekick, Tails, and sets off on a quest to recover the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

    Idris Elba is a newbie to the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ensemble, as Knuckles was not in the original film. He’ll be joining Ben Schwartz as Sonic’s voice, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski as returning cast members.

    Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Fowler and based on a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Takeshi Ito. On April 8, 2022, the sequel will be released.
