Carrying over his legacy, Ivan Reitman’s son Jason Reitman brings a new ‘Ghostbusters’ film to Hollywood this June. In an interview, Junior Reitman said that his father was very proud of him, as evident from the waterworks after he watching ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife.’ Starring Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard and Paul Rudd, this film will see son Reitman giving his father’s film a new spin with a younger generation of actors taking the lead and hinting that they may be taking over the family business that started with the 1984 film.
Once upon a slime…
As the release date nears, we see more and more being revealed about the film by the makers, and now, we have eyes on a new spectre named Muncher. Although it is supposed to be a ghost, it appears to be quite non-threatening. It is blue in colour and looks like a slimy blob that gives it a shiny, wet texture. It has six limbs and bears an uncanny resemblance to Slimer, the ghost from 1984’s ‘Ghostbusters’ starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Arkroyd. The cast members from the original film that are surviving will make an appearance in ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife,’ including Murray and Arkroyd.

All for scares!
Reitman has said in interviews that this new film will be truer to the horror genre than comedy and give fans a good scare. It will revolve around the story of a single mother and her two children living in Summerville, Oklahoma. Teaming up with their grandfather’s friends as Murray, Arkroyd and Hudson make a comeback, the group will investigate paranormal occurrences taking place in their neighbourhood. The original team was seen together in the 1989 Ivan Reitman film ‘Ghostbusters 2’, where the men go on a rogue ghost-catching mission.
