A new Blumhouse Production film is in the works titled ‘Adrift,’ and it will be met with the reunion of what made the film ‘A Requiem for a Dream’ so great- director Darren Aronofsky and Jared Leto. ‘A Requiem for a Dream’ was released in 2000 and starred, apart from Leto, Jennifer Connelly, and Ellen Burstyn. The film evokes the inner workings of the human mind through the psychological exploration of loss. It has a solid 8.3 rating on IMDb.
What we know about the project so far
Now, the genius of Aronofsky can be seen on the big screen paired once again with the talents of Jared Leto with the release of ‘Adrift’. The film will be based on a story written by Koji Suzuki and be set in the middle of the ocean on an abandoned yacht. Strange happenings lead to the realisation that there is a reason why people call it a “ghost ship.” Not a lot is known about the film yet, but we know that whatever the makers have planned for the audience will be mind-bending, just like Aronofsky’s other films (‘Mother!’, ‘Black Swan’).
