Three decades later, in 2016, after he started identifying himself as a trans-man – now Glenn Copeland – he received numerous messages from people across the world as they discovered his music for the first time.
Thanks to a rare records collector in Japan, “Keyboard Fantasies” was reissued and subsequently played by Four Tet, Caribou, and more. Eventually, the music found its deserved credit two generations down the line.
The Keyboard Fantasies movie sees the artist commit his life’s work to screen for the first time, as he tells his story of pain and suffering, of prejudice that he was able to spin into the rhythm of hope and joy. He is now signed as a major indie label. Glenn’s emergence from obscurity transpires as an intimate coming-of-age story.
