The Jurassic Park franchise is loved and appreciated by all. Since the first film released in 1993, the film has had two sequels, a reboot, and the reboot has had a sequel as well. A new sequel to ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ is coming in 2022, titled ‘Jurassic World: Dominion.’ Directed by Colin Trevorrow, this film is the final installment of the Jurassic World trilogy and will have Steven Spielberg (who directed the 1993 film) serving as executive producer. Actor Sam Neill, who we last saw as part of this franchise nineteen years ago, will be returning as paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in the upcoming film and has recently come out to say that ‘Jurassic Park III’ (2001) is a highly underrated film and deserved way more appreciation than it received.

Admitting that the last few minutes of ‘Jurassic Park III’ were somewhat hasty, Sam Neill tells Collider that it does not change how great the rest of the film was. He discloses that it was not until this third film that he fully understood his character’s depth well enough to do it justice. Fans of the film would probably disagree as we believe he nailed the role from the very start. In another recent interview, Neill says that just like Spielberg, director Trevorrow also has the creative abilities needed to make a film great. Considering ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ started shooting when the pandemic was at its peak, it was quite difficult for the cast to cope with the stress, and given the extra work they did, Neill believes they have enough to make the film six hours long.

‘Jurassic Park III’ follows Dr. Grant in his expedition to the second failed site for a Jurassic experiment, Isla Sorna. Hesitant to take the tour in the first place, Grant and his group soon find out the real reason behind the compelling invitation from a wealthy businessman and must then find a way to escape alive. The film stars, alongside Neill, Laura Dern (‘Wild at Heart,’ 1990), Téa Leoni (‘The Family Man,’ 2000), William H Macy (‘Fargo,’ 1996) and Alessandro Nivola (‘Disobedience,’ 2017).
