Directed by William Eubank, Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is a found footage supernatural film. It is the seventh installment in the Paranormal Activity series. It stars Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, Henry Ayers-Brown, and Tom Nowicki.
This film can also be considered a reboot of the film franchise since the precious movie, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension was promoted as the last film of the original franchise. However, in June 2019, Paramount Pictures announced that there would be the seventh installment. It isn’t a direct sequel but a spin-off set in the same world.
The trailer of the movie has left the audience feeling excited. The film follows a young woman who is trying to figure out what happened to her mother, who disappeared years ago. She then finds a terrifying truth about her mother. In the trailer, we get a glimpse of Margot (played by Emily Bader) as she is going to meet her first biological relative in a secluded Amish community her mother called home.
However, it is not much later when she discovers that his “home” has secrets of its own. From the looks of it, it appears that the protagonist’s relatives are a part of a cult that could potentially have some connections with Katie, the character who is a regular in the franchise.
The Paranormal Activity franchise is known for exploring the themes of identity and family, and this installment does not seem to deviate from it. Ome can recognize the elements and essence of the Paranormal Activity movies in the final moments of the trailer. It has been reported that the seventh installment will bring “something new”, although we are not quite sure what it is.
Is Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin on Amazon Prime?
Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is not available on Amazon Prime. However, since the spooky season is around the corner, we know viewers are in search of some spine-chilling horror flicks and there is no reason for Amazon Prime subscribers to be disappointed in that regard. The plat has got you covered with some amazing horror flicks – The Wailing, Night of the Living Dead, The Omen, and Midsommar.
Is Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin on HBO Max?
Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is not a part of HBO Max’s current offerings. The platform is, however, home to some of the most creepy horror movies in history. Some of our favorite recommendations are – The Shining, Poltergeist, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Conjuring.

This is the first Blumhouse horror flick that will not be released in theaters. The movie will be released digitally on Paramount+ on 29th October, 2021. in the USA. Paramount+ is available on all mobile devices (Android or Apple) and can be downloaded from the respective app stores.
There are two subscription options on this relatively new streaming platform. A commercial-free version costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. The other is an ad-supported subscription that is $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
Paramount+ will also be releasing a feature-length documentary, Unkown Dimension: The Story of Paranormal Activity, that will give a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of the making of the Paranormal Activity movies with interviews, unseen footage, and more. It will also be available to stream on the platform from 29th October, 2021.
