Warner Bros. has been teasing fans of the DCEU for quite some time now as the release date for two of its films near- The Batman and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. After letting fans know about Jared Leto’s Joker connecting the films to Suicide Squad and then giving us a peak at him, they did the same for super-villain Darkseid. HBO Max had been teasing at the trailer reveal for quite some time and even giving us a few glimpses at shots from it. This Sunday, we finally got to watch the official trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and it was phenomenal. Snyder’s Cut will be available to stream starting March 18th only on HBO Max, and to make things even better, the film will be up to four full hours long! In addition to Leto’s Joker coming back, the super-villain Darkseid is to be played by Ray Porter, previously seen in films like Almost Famous (2000), The Runaways (2010) and Argo (2012).
The trailer opening
Director Snyder had made it clear that this film would be very dark, and from the looks of it, he seems to have stuck to his promise. The trailer opens with a slow-motion shot of Superman’s death in Batman vs. Superman, and his screaming seems to reverberate hard enough to be visible to the naked eye. The ominous music behind this only amplifies the atmosphere. Soon, we cut to Bruce Wayne’s awaited nightmare, which ties up to the very last scene of the trailer with Joker saying the famous words “we live in a society…”. But when looked at carefully, it seems like Joker has somehow gotten his hands on the mother box, and we all know that can’t be good.
Additions that will enhance the cinematic experience of this film
Cyborg, too, seems to have gotten some costume upgrades while Diana has discovered the history of Darkseid. Most of the footage that follows afterward is the same as Joss Whedon’s Justice League, but the cinematography is far superior. A Superman hologram created by Cyborg is also seen and it is evident that this is from when the team is deciding on how they can resurrect him. Speaking of whom, Superman has gotten an insane revamping done on his costume with an all-black bodysuit and a dark grey cape. Other characters such as Darkseid, Batman and Flash have also gotten minor tweaks in their costumes, but nothing beats the one Superman received.
