    Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

    Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Edward and Alphonse Elric find themselves in a catastrophic new reality after an alchemy experiment goes wrong. In defiance of the alchemical principle banning human transmutation, the boys attempted to bring their recently deceased mother back to life.

They instead suffered brutal personal losses: Alphonse’s body fell apart, and Edward lost a leg before sacrificing an arm to keep Alphonse’s soul in the human realm by binding it to a hulking suit of armor.

They are rescued by their neighbor Pinako Rockbell and her granddaughter Winry. Winry is a prodigy in biomechanical engineering and uses automail, a tough, versatile material used in robots and combat armor, to create prosthetic limbs for Edward. The Elric brothers set out after years of training to locate the Philosopher’s Stone-a powerful jewel that permits an alchemist to defy the traditional laws of Equivalent Exchange.

During Edward’s journey to becoming an infamous alchemist and earning the nickname “Fullmetal,” the boys become embroiled in a growing conspiracy that threatens the fate of the world.

As there has been no filler in this series, the story does not lose momentum. Each episode is a concise part of the vast plot, and every scene is significant. Less explanation is given, and the dialogue is direct.

In addition to the Elric brothers’ story, there are many side stories explored, but all of them perfectly intertwine with it and, more often than not, directly affect it. It is not uncommon for anime series to omit moments from the manga, but these are usually just comical.

You can tell how much the story and characters captivate you by how short each episode feels.

    Naruto

    Naruto

The Nine-Tailed Fox, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, attacked Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, just prior to Naruto’s birth. As village leader, the Fourth Hokage sacrificed himself in order to stop the Kyuubi’s rampage and seal the monster inside Naruto.

Currently, Naruto is a knuckle-headed and hyperactive ninja living in Konohagakure. Due to the Kyuubi in him, Naruto struggles to fit in with his surroundings and his drive to become the Hokage of Konohagakure leads him to not only some new friends, but also some deadly foes.

The anime features martial arts fight sequences and occasionally switches between serious and lighthearted moments, depending on the background and buildup. Naruto is definitely a hero you can identify with, and even his supporting cast is well written. Also, it’s nice to see the characters develop over time.

The character development of Naruto makes it stand out from other shounen anime, making it one of the best. It captures with finesse both the excitement of being a child and the pain of being alone. The show fluctuates between dramatic and humorous moments, causing you to experience a rollercoaster of emotions.

Additionally to being filled with action, Naruto contains some of the greatest battles ever written and drawn in anime history. As a result of the depth of the writing, many of the dialogues end up going down in history as life-changing quotes.

A true shounen classic, Naruto is a show that every anime fan has either seen or is familiar with.

    Hunter x Hunter (2011)

    Hunter x Hunter (2011)

The world of Hunter x Hunter is filled with hunters who live to perform dangerous tasks like capturing criminals and seeking lost treasures in uncharted territory. Gon Freecss, twelve, is determined to become the best Hunter possible in order to find his lost father, who was a Hunter himself but abandoned his son a long time ago. The path to achieving Gon’s goals is, however, far more difficult than he ever imagined.

As Gon prepares to become a Hunter, he makes friends with the energetic doctor-in-training Leorio, the vengeful Kurapika, and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua. Together, they take the Hunter Exam, a test notorious for its low success rate and high likelihood of death, together in order to achieve their own goals and desires.

Throughout their journey, Gon and his friends face many hardships and challenges. In the process of learning what it takes to become a Hunter, they will run into a variety of monsters, creatures, and characters.

This series is not merely about finding one’s father, but also about the journey that was taken to get there. In HxH, there are a number of well-written arcs. It has one of the best scripts in the shounen genre; the depth and flow of its story, the captivating characters, and the vivid world-building create a story that can captivate its audience for hours on end.

HxH’s story is impressive because of its variety. The six-story arcs of HxH span a variety of genres. Aside from that, the series is also capable of undergoing significant tonal shifts with ease. The series does a great job of keeping viewers interested. As you watch the episodes, you’ll have breezed through most of them.

    Mushishi

    Mushishi

“Mushi”: the most basic form of life. Unlike humans, Mushi have no objectives or goals apart from simply “being.” They are not enslaved by the terms “good” and “evil.” Mushi can take on countless forms and can mimic things from nature such as plants, diseases, and even phenomena like rainbows.

Nevertheless, it is just a vague definition of these entities that live in the vibrant world of Mushishi, as calling them a form of life would be an oversimplification. There is little detailed information on Mushi since most humans are unaware of their existence.

Why do Mushi exist and what do they do? It is a question that “Mushishi,” like Ginko, are perpetually pondering. A Mushishi is a person who studies Mushi to understand their position in the world’s hierarchy of life.

To find an answer, Ginko chases rumors of occurrences related to Mushi.

Ultimately, it could lead to the meaning of life itself.

Ginko is the main character of Mushishi, an episodic anime. Ginko travels from town to town, researching a phenomenon known as “mushi” and its effects on humans. Moreover, he helps the different villages solve any mushi “problems.”

This concept of “mushi,” which is neither human, animal, nor plant, but influences human life every day, is both intelligent and thought-provoking. Even more intriguing is the way Ginko manages these phenomena, whether he is just researching or treating them. The lessons in Mushishi’s stories are timeless, and the stories are told beautifully.

There is no flashy, grotesque, or absurd story, competing for attention among the cliche-ridden anime market. The plot flows like a calm streamlet, contemplative in its very essence.

    No Game No Life

    No Game No Life

The story is about shut-in NEET siblings Sora and Shiro, the online gamer duo behind the username “Blank.” They see the real world as just another lousy game, but a mysterious e-mail challenging the pair to a chess match changes everything-they are sucked into an otherworldly realm where they meet Tet, the God of Games.

Sora and Shiro are welcomed to Disboard by the mysterious god, a world where all conflicts-from small squabbles to the fate of entire countries are resolved through games rather than war.

The system works by requiring each party to wager something they deem to be of equal value to the other party’s wager. It is here in this strange land where humanity has been reduced to child’s play that the indifferent genius gamer duo of Shiro and Sora can finally find a reason to keep playing games: uniting Disboard’s sixteen races, defeating Tet, and becoming the Gods of this new world where gaming is everything.

In order to provide entertainment, despite the seriousness of the siblings’ quest, the show often pokes fun at itself through its characters, concepts, and jokes. It is rarely more fun to watch someone else play a game than to play one yourself. In any case, this show makes you feel like you’re part of the adventure.

By deconstructing game tropes, this anime offers a fantasy adventure through an experimental medium. Frequently, the show mocks itself through culture, rules, and just about anything else it can get its hands on. While the show doesn’t avoid its clichés, it finds a way to parody them with clever comedic execution.

Sora and Shiro are undoubtedly the focus in the character department since they are the series’ protagonists, and they do not disappoint.

    Noragami

    Noragami

You may find a strange phone number scrawled in red in times of need if you look in the right place. A young man will introduce himself as the Yato God if you call this number.

Yato is a minor deity who calls himself a “Delivery God” and dreams of having millions of worshippers. His goals are far from being achieved, however, without a single shrine dedicated to him. He spends his days doing odd jobs for five yen each, until his weapon partner becomes frustrated with him and deserts him.

Suddenly, the god’s fortune changes when a middle school girl, Hiyori Iki, supposedly saves him from a car accident by taking the hit on his behalf. Despite surviving, her soul has become loose and she is able to leave her body as a result.

Hiyori demands that Yato restore her to normality, but when she learns that he will need a new partner in order to achieve this, she reluctantly agrees to assist him in finding one. Yato’s luck may finally be turning around with Hiyori’s help.

Noragami’s plotlines flow seamlessly together in terms of pacing and execution. Aside from a few comic relief moments and character introductions, the plot moves quickly. It even has some realistic dark undertones.

Seeing this makes you realize how lonely life can be, how painful it is to be forgotten, and how much you want to be remembered.

The characters in this series are well-rounded, well-developed, and never one-dimensional in any way. There’s something for everyone in Noragami. This series includes action, drama, comedy, and fantasy. Due to the show’s character-driven nature, its small cast portrays human behavior in a relatable manner.

    One Piece

    One Piece

Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, was known as one of the most infamous and strongest beings to have sailed the Grand Line. With Roger’s capture and execution by the World Government, a new era began. One Piece, the world’s greatest treasure, was revealed in his last words before his death.

As a result of this discovery, the Grand Age of Pirates began, a time of men dreaming of finding One Piece, which promises untold riches and fame, and perhaps the pinnacle of glory and the title of Pirate King.

It’s Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy who defies your idea of what a pirate is. The reason Luffy wants to become a pirate is not that of a wicked, hardened, toothless pirate who ravages villages for fun; it is the desire for an exciting adventure that will lead him to intriguing people and ultimately, the treasure.

Following the path of his childhood hero, Luffy and his crew journey across the Grand Line, experiencing crazy adventures, unraveling dark mysteries and facing powerful adversaries, all in pursuit of the most coveted of all fortunes–One Piece.

With each new member that Luffy discovers, you will fall in love. They’re all very well-developed, with intriguing backstories and unique personalities. While striving to achieve their dreams, the crew is always on the lookout for adventures. There are also new minor characters appearing in the main storylines, and they’re as interesting and engaging as the Straw Hat crew.

It does not feel like the characters are ignored or that they are there for no reason. In One Piece, each character contributes to the storyline, and these ‘purposes’ often resurface in later episodes.

    Akame ga Kill!

    Akame ga Kill!

The Night Raid refers to the assassination arm of the Revolutionary Army, an uprising against Honest, who has taken advantage of the child emperor’s inexperience due to his avarice and greed for power. It is impossible for a nation to rise out of poverty, strife, and ruin without a strong and benevolent leader.

While the Night Raid members are experienced killers, they recognize that taking lives is far from commendable, and they will most likely be retaliated against as they kill anyone who stands in their way.

Tatsumi is the latest addition to this merry band of assassins, a naive youth from a rural village who set out to help his hometown and was won over by their ideals and resolve as well. As Tatsumi battles the Empire, he comes face-to-face with powerful weapons, enemy assassins, challenges to his own morals and values, and ultimately, he learns what it is to be an assassin with a cause.

Akame Ga Kill! immediately takes you by surprise. Although it appears to be an innocent anime, it is extremely bloody and pulls at your heartstrings.

There is a real-world feel to the anime. This is not surprising in real life when the protagonists are assassins, but most anime do not create impossible situations that cause people to die. This is not the case with Akame ga Kill.

The characters are unique and likable. There is something special about each one. The fact that characters will die and suffer a lot prior to death shouldn’t surprise anyone, and therefore this connection of liking is a key means by which this anime manipulates your emotions.

    Nanatsu no Taizai

    Nanatsu no Taizai

Holy Knights of Britannia use formidable magic to protect the region of Britannia and its kingdoms in a world that is similar to the European Middle Ages. One small subset of the Knights, however, allegedly turned their blades against their comrades, trying to overthrow the ruler of Liones.

Despite being defeated by the Holy Knights, rumors persisted that these legendary knights, known as the “Seven Deadly Sins,” were still alive. Ten years later, the Holy Knights staged a coup d’état themselves, and thus came to be the tyrannical rulers of the Kingdom of Liones.

Throughout Nanatsu no Taizai, Elizabeth, the third princess of Liones, is on the hunt for the Seven Deadly Sins. She strives not only to regain her kingdom from the Holy Knights, but also to seek justice in an unjust world with their help.

In terms of pacing, the narrative follows the typical format of battle after battle while gradually introducing each of the main characters and developing the plot. A beautiful story that goes beyond the commonplace good-guy-vs-bad-guy cliche. The series asserts that there is no such thing as ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ As the story unfolds, over time, each character is revealed to have varying degrees of flaws and selfishness.

Taizai has a lot of characters, many of which have some interesting characterizations and some development. This show is so entertaining due to both the personalities of the characters and their interactions.

There are many unique scenarios, purposeful character explorations, a complete narrative, and themes of sin and atonement in this story. Hilarity abounds, as well as clashes between characters.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

Kazuma Satou, a reclusive high school student, dies a laughable and pathetic death while returning from buying a game and finds himself seated in front of Aqua, a beautiful but obnoxious goddess. There are two options for the NEET: Continue on to heaven or become part of every gamer’s fantasy world!

Having decided to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. Before he departs, he must select one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. The problem is that Aqua is useless. Kazuma has made a grave mistake.

Unfortunately, their troubles do not end here; it turns out that living in such a world is entirely different from how it appears in a game. They must first earn money to pay for their living expenses instead of embarking on an exciting adventure. Unfortunately, their misfortunes have only just begun!

Unlike other shows that tell great stories or explore philosophy and other themes, KonoSuba focuses on pure entertainment! This niche comedy has genuinely hilarious moments, while parodying any flaws it has. You can’t be sure if all the “flaws” it has are on purpose or not, so there isn’t much to criticize.

It’s over the top, but it executes its quirkiness in a way that’s funny and lighthearted. Rather than pursuing a serious story, it makes fun of stereotypes, including character tropes and MMO characteristics. KonoSuba is an excellent anime to just sit down and relax to.

    Bleach

    Bleach

Ichigo Kurosaki is a typical high schooler until his family and he are attacked by a Hollow. A Hollow is a corrupt spirit that seeks to devour human souls. He then encounters Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper that gets injured while protecting Ichigo’s family. Ichigo then accepts Rukia’s offer of taking her powers to save his family. As a result of this, he then becomes a Soul Reaper.

He has to fight Hollows that threaten their town since Rukia cannot regain her powers. It is not only he who fights, however, as his classmates Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryuu Ishida, who each possess unique abilities, also join him.

The young Soul Reaper quickly learns that the Hollows are not the only threats to humanity as he and his comrades get used to their new duties and support each other on and off the battlefield.

There are many great anime series out there, but Bleach is one of the best. From the moment you watch it, you are left wondering what will happen next. It’s action-packed and funny at the same time. It has an intriguing plot. There are plenty of plot twists. A great cast of characters can be found in this anime.

You can’t say you hate them all since they are all so lovable. In contrast to other anime, the characters don’t all look the same. Their looks and personalities differ greatly.

When we talk about shounen anime, Bleach is one of the first names that spring to mind, and for good reason. This anime is a great combination of adventure, comedy, and action. It’s a must-see for anime fans. The anime Bleach is one of the best series ever made.

    Cowboy Bebop

    Cowboy Bebop

By the year 2071, humanity has colonized several planets and moons of our solar system, leaving behind the uninhabitable surface on Earth. There are outlaw bounty hunters known as “Cowboys” who assist the Inter Solar System Police in keeping the peace in the galaxy. The ragtag crew aboard the spaceship Bebop consists of two of such individuals.

Bright and carefree Spike Spiegel is countered by his pragmatic and boisterous partner Jet Black as the two chase bounty hunters and collect rewards to make a living.

They are thrown off course by the addition of new members in their travels—Ein, a highly intelligent genetically modified Welsh Corgi; femme fatale Faye Valentine, an eccentric trickster suffering from memory loss; and the strange computer genius Edward Wong—the crew embarks on thrilling adventures that uncover each member’s dark and mysterious past one by one.

Featuring a good balance of action and comedy, Cowboy Bebop is both a space Western classic and a tribute to the smooth and improvised music it is named after.

Each episode brings a new bounty on which they’re hunting, and though 26 straight episodes may not seem exciting at first, you’ll grow to enjoy it. All these different events often produce an unpredictable outcome, and you wonder how it will all turn out.

The way in which the pasts of the main characters are explored makes the show stand out from the rest. There isn’t one flashback episode that gives an understanding of how they are today.

There might be one piece in one episode, the next in another, and everything falls into place only in the last three episodes. This approach makes you want to watch another episode to learn more about the characters.

    Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi

    Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi

Chihiro Ogino, a 10-year-old spoiled, naive girl, is less than pleased when her parents stumble upon a deserted amusement park on the way to their new home. After cautiously entering, she realizes that there is more to this place than meets the eye, as strange things start to happen once dusk falls.

There are ghostly apparitions and food that turns her parents into pigs, just the beginning of Chihiro’s unwitting contact with the spirit world. With the aid of the mysterious Haku and the cast of eccentric characters she encounters along the way, she must find the courage to live and work among the spirits.

In Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, Chihiro is taken on an adventure through an unfamiliar world in order to save her parents and return home.

Children are the embodiment of mysterious wonder and awe-inspiring imagination. There are moments in life when we’ve gone off into our own imaginary world and tried to experience a new reality. Many films have attempted to recreate the nostalgic feeling of reliving childhood, either succeeding or failing. A man like Miyazaki is capable of doing that flawlessly.

The film isn’t grand with a lot of bells and whistles. In this story, an ordinary girl in a strange world is portrayed in a quiet, subdued way. Take the time to appreciate the world and story Miyazaki has crafted for us to enjoy instead of expecting something huge.

This film stands out for its lack of clearly good or evil characters. There are good and bad sides to everyone, though some may allow their evil sides to overshadow their good sides.

    Fairy Tail

    Fairy Tail

Fiore is a mystical land where magic is an integral part of everyday life. The core of all magical activity lies in the many magic guilds, which provide like-minded mages with a venue for collaborating and taking on job requests. Known for its strength and spirit, Fairy Tail stands out from the rest.

In order to become a full-fledged wizard, Lucy Heartfilia hopes to join this famous guild in search of celestial gate keys. In her search, she encounters Natsu Dragneel and his partner Happy, who are on a quest to find Natsu’s foster father, the dragon Igneel.

Lucy falls victim to an abduction attempt after being tricked by a man, but Natsu saves her. She is shocked when he reveals that he is a member of Fairy Tail and invites her to join. There Lucy meets the guild’s strange members. This includes Gray Fullbuster, an ice wizard, and Erza Scarlet, a magic swordswoman. Throughout the series, they endure battles against evil, help others, make new friends, and enjoy the never-ending fun and adventure that is Fairy Tail.

As part of what makes Fairy Tail so unique is that it is good in spite of all the clichés it contains. It’s okay to enjoy generic shounen, and Fairy Tail makes the most of the elements we love.

Considering the number of characters in the story, one would think there would not be enough time to tell the story of them all. Even though they aren’t the main characters, they all get plenty of screen time. Most of the time you will see that Natsu, Grey, Lucy, and Happy are being followed, but you will also notice that everyone else is being included.

    Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

    Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Kamina and Simon were born and raised in a deep, underground village hidden from the surface. In contrast to Simon’s timid nature and lack of ambitions, Kamina is a free-spirited loose cannon intent on making a name for himself. Along with Yoko Littner, a hot-blooded redhead with a massive gun who wanders the world above, Simon and Kamina defend themselves against a surprise attack using their new weapon.

Simon, Kamina, and Yoko decide to explore the wastelands of the surface together after the battle, now that the sky is clearly visible to them. They soon join the fight against the Beastmen, humanoids that rode powerful robots called Gunmen to terrorize the remnants of humanity. Although they face difficulties and setbacks, the trio bravely fights these new enemies alongside other survivors to gain freedom, while slowly unraveling a mysterious mystery.

Gurren Lagann is truly breathtaking. It is an endlessly thrilling journey that begins with humble beginnings and ends with the most fantastic of endings. This series is filled with so many unforgettable moments, lines, and ideas that they imprint themselves on your very soul.

Despite its amazing story, Tengen Toppa is not about the story. The story does not follow a logical progression, have a strategy, involve conflict of interests, world-building, or involve sci-fi exploration. It’s about deconstructing them all. This show arouses the viewer’s zeal for the cause and reinforces it. Tengen Toppa also has an excellent capacity to move people emotionally. It will make you laugh, cry, and feel.

    Dr. Stone

    Dr. Stone

Having harbored unspoken feelings for Yuzuriha Ogawa for five years, Taiju Ooki is finally ready to confess his love to her. Suddenly, a blinding green light strikes the Earth, turning every person into stone just as Taiju begins his confession.

As Taiju awakens several millennia later, the modern world is completely absent, as nature has flourished in the time when humanity stood still. The world Taiju inhabits is full of stone statues, but he discovers one other living human: Senkuu, his science-loving friend. The idea of reviving civilization through science is Senkuu’s grand scheme, which Taiju learns of from Senkuu. Taiju’s strength and Senkuu’s intellect combine to form a formidable partnership, and they discover a way to revive the petrified.

Senkuu’s master plan, however, is undermined when those who awaken challenge his ideologies. Meanwhile, the reason for mankind’s petrification remains unknown.

The setting of this show is so intriguing that you’ll be hooked from the start. Even though Dr. Stone is extremely over the top, it is still one of those anime that you love. Funny yet intense, it is realistic and unrealistic at the same time.

The story takes place in prehistoric times, which makes it unique. Dr. Stone combines comedy with science. Continuing to watch it will make you laugh so hard you’ll fall off your couch.

Dr. Stone’s primary goal is to demonstrate Senkuu’s brilliance and that of his little science team. Each character he befriends has different goals and personalities.

A fascinating aspect of this anime is how the characters work together to create the kingdom of Science, Senkuu’s ultimate goal.

    JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken

    JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken

George Joestar, an English nobleman, is saved by Dario Brando in 1868. As a way of repaying his savior, George hopes to take in Dario’s son Dio when he becomes fatherless.

Dio, however, is unsatisfied with his life and aspires to obtain the Joestar house for himself. In his attempt to destroy George and his son, Jonathan “JoJo” Joestar, he wields an Aztec stone mask and triggers a chain of events that will reverberate for years to come.

Jonathan Joestar’s grandson Joseph Joestar discovers the legacy his grandfather left for him in New York City half a century later. After an archeological dig uncovers the secrets behind the stone mask, he realizes that only he is capable of defeating the Pillar Men, mystical beings of immeasurable power who inadvertently began everything.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken follows JoJo and his descendants during their many exciting expeditions. You’re always in for some bizarre adventures, whether it’s battling the evil Dio or the sinister Pillar Men.

While many shounen anime currently out there are dark and comical, this show is wacky and serious simultaneously, which makes it an interesting show to watch.

The story and characters of this anime are well-developed, with a lot of the characters having strengths and weaknesses throughout the show. This title shows you don’t need complexity to make an engaging story, as long as you’re dedicated to the project and passionate about it.

    Banana Fish

    Banana Fish

Known as Ash Lynx, Aslan Jade Callenreese was picked up on the streets of New York City and raised by infamous mafia godfather Dino Golzine. Now 17 and the leader of his own gang, Ash begins investigating the mysterious “Banana Fish” phrase that his older brother, Griffin, has uttered since he returned from the Iraq war. Ash’s investigations are hindered when Dino’s men pursue him at an underground bar he uses as a hideout.

Ash’s friend Skip introduces him to Shunichi Ibe and his assistant Eiji Okumura, who are Japanese photographers documenting American street gangs. They are interrupted by Shorter Wong, one of Ash’s allies, who warns him about Dino. Dino’s men storm the bar soon after, kidnapping Skip and Eiji in the ensuing chaos. It’s now up to Ash to find a way to save them and continue his investigation into Banana Fish, but will his past with the mafia hinder him from succeeding?

In Banana Fish’s deplorable world filled with death and sexual violence, a protagonist named Ash Lynx tells a story of love and life. With its two halves, the darkness and light that prevail in its two protagonists, Ash and Eiji, this character drama depicts both the ugly and beautiful aspects of human nature.

It is excellent how Banana Fish describes its main characters in a short amount of time and consistently develops them throughout. This makes the characters more interesting and engaging.

Despite the prevalent use of successful formulas and character stereotypes in anime releases today, Banana Fish is a rare anime that isn’t afraid of taking chances.

    Overlord

    Overlord

The popular virtual reality game Yggdrasil has reached its final hour. With the servers starting to shut down, Momonga, a powerful wizard and master of Ainz Ooal Gown, decides to spend his last few minutes playing the game. Despite the clock striking midnight, Momonga is still fully conscious as his character and, moreover, the non-player characters have personalities of their own!

Faced with this abnormal situation, Momonga orders his servants to investigate and take control of this new world in order to figure out what has caused it and if others are in the same predicament.

It follows the same aspects as many other MMO animes out there, except that it does it right, with an impressive plot that holds your attention.

We finally have a protagonist who does not act as would be morally right, but how he will reap the greatest benefits. As for the world around him, it does not conveniently make all of his opponents into cartoonish evil, so killing them and taking everything they possess is justifiable.

Due to its strong fantasy setting, a cast of interesting characters, and a slightly darker story, Overlord successfully hooks its viewers. Although the storyline is sometimes slow, the fight scenes are usually worth it.

Characters on the show are diverse, but the viewer gets a good sense of each one. Considering the show’s short run time of 13 episodes, this is quite a feat. If you enjoy animes that have badass main characters and moments that keep you on edge, then Overlord is a great choice.

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka

It is never dull in the bustling city of Orario, especially for Bell Cranel, a naive young man who dreams of becoming the greatest adventurer in the land. His dreams become closer to reality after a chance encounter with the lonely goddess, Hestia.

With her support, Bell goes on an incredible quest as he explores the city’s horror-filled catacombs known only as the “Dungeon.” Death lurks at every corner in this terrifying labyrinth, and a mysterious force is at work.

Survival is a hard-earned privilege, even on the surface. It is true that nothing is ever certain in a world where gods and humans live and work together, especially when they often fight. It is certain, however, that the dauntlessly optimistic protagonist of this herculean tale will endure a myriad of mishaps, triumphs, and friendships.

The steamy action and fights are the only things DanMachi does not lack. While the fights are full of ups and downs, they are also full of impact and development. It is there for plot development, and it will always be there for character growth and development.

It is one of DanMachi’s strongest points, along with its story and a large pool of interesting characters. Various events and stories make DanMachi more interesting to watch, as we can expect more twists and turns in its future episodes.

Bell is a loveable character, mainly because we can relate to him as someone who gives their best to everything they do. Throughout the series, Bell’s relationships and development also flourish one after another, and he doesn’t remain indecisive and meek until the very end.

After the latest Elder Tale update, thirty thousand confused Japanese gamers are whisked away into the world of the popular MMORPG-unable to log out. The socially awkward college student Shiroe is one of them, and his confusion and shock last only a moment before, as an expert at this game, he immediately sets out to test the limits of his new world.

Shiroe must adjust to this new world, leading others and negotiating with the NPC “natives” to keep the virtual city Akihabara stable. Shiroe is joined by Naotsugu, who logged in for the first time in years only to find himself trapped, and Akatsuki, a fierce assassin who labels Shiroe as her master.

This fantasy, adventure, and politics tale explores the elements of gaming through the eyes of a master strategist attempting to decode a puzzling situation.

Log Horizon starts slowly with the typical setup of a “no-faults” main character. Log Horizon is thrilling to watch because of the way Shiroe, the main character, approaches each situation strategically.

Shiroe is not the typical shounen hero who grows stronger throughout the story and then overpowers his enemies. Instead, he’s more of a background character, the “villain in glasses” who dictates the flow and direction of battle. The show is genuinely fun, avoiding many of the pitfalls we’ve grown accustomed to seeing from shounen-type shows.

Log Horizon’s story sets it apart from a typical shounen show. There are strong political and economic themes that tie into one of the show’s biggest themes: building a world.

    Made in Abyss

    Made in Abyss

The Abyss is a gaping chasm that stretches deep into the earth, filled with ancient relics and mysterious creatures. What led to this? And what is at the bottom? Countless brave individuals, called Divers, have descended fearlessly into the Abyss in search of answers to its mysteries. The White Whistles, the most courageous and best Divers, are celebrated as legends by those on the surface.

The daughter of White Whistle Lyza the Annihilator, Riko, wishes to follow in her mother’s footsteps and explore the Abyss’ furthest reaches. Nevertheless, as she is only a novice Red Whistle, she is only allowed to roam the very top layer. However, Riko runs into a mysterious robot that appears to be a young boy. Reg, as she calls him, has no memory of the events preceding his discovery.

Knowing that Reg’s technology must originate from deep within the Abyss, the two decide to venture into the depths of the chasm in search of his memories and see what lies beneath. However, they are unaware of the harsh reality of the Abyss.

This anime has a good story. Among its many elements are mystery, emotion, sadness, love, action, tears, and more. While the story is straightforward and conceptually very simple, several details are added as the story unfolds.

Throughout the show, concepts such as friendship, trust, the history of the Abyss, and the curse surrounding it are explored without being overly complicated for viewers to comprehend. Additionally, we can observe the relentless pursuit of truth and the desire to resolve the mysteries of the Abyss.

    Mononoke Hime

    Mononoke Hime

As a young prince, Ashitaka puts his life at risk to protect his tribe when a fierce demon boar attacks an Emishi village. The beast curses the prince’s arm with its dying breath, granting him demonic powers while siphoning away his life.

Ashitaka is sent westward for a cure, but on arrival at the Iron Town of Tatara, he is embroiled in a fierce conflict: Lady Eboshi of Tatara, a fierce advocate of constant deforestation, stands against Princess San and the forest spirits, enraged at the destruction brought by humans.

Amidst the conflict between nature and mankind, Ashitaka tries to balance the opposing forces while also battling the latent demon within him. With Mononoke Hime, a connection between technology and nature is depicted, demonstrating the path to harmony that can be reached through mutual acceptance.

This is a Studio Ghibli film, so the animation is going to be amazing. There is a sense of nature captured in the animation. This was accomplished by Miyazaki by creating a wide range of beasts and mystical characters. There are even gods in this movie, which adds to the feeling of nature being alive.

There are several fascinating characters in this film, especially Ashitaka and Princess Mononoke. Throughout the story, Ashitaka’s interactions with the various warring groups are the focus. He always points out the absurdities of the other characters and attempts to rectify them. The meaninglessness of conflict is communicated through him, as well as the overall story.

Likewise, Princess Mononoke is a character filled with mystery and intricately crafted. Humans’ selfish egotism and hostility to the earth and creatures living on it are the reasons behind her hatred of them.

    Magi: The Kingdom of Magic

    Magi The Kingdom of Magic

Every corner of the world is home to bizarre labyrinths that conceal incredible treasures. There is a myth that these “Dungeons” are the work of rare magicians called Magi, who also assist people in building their empires by guiding them to these dungeons. In the labyrinth, Djinns, supernatural beings that have enormous power, grant access to conquerors and choose them to become king candidates.

After spending his entire life in isolation, Aladdin, a kind and young magician, is eager to explore the world upon leaving his home for the first time. As he begins his journey, Aladdin is only accompanied by his mentor Ugo, a djinn he summons with his flute.

As a result of destroying a local merchant’s supply cart, Aladdin becomes friends with Alibaba Saluja. Alibaba then suggests that they attempt to conquer the nearest dungeon in order to pay for the damages, starting the epic journey that will decide the fate of the world.

You can expect a gripping narrative with a setting based on Arabian Nights. Magi has been structured so that the emphasis on the main characters is well-balanced, and it has a distinctive feel to it. Using this method, the story can become even darker and more gripping without losing its narrative. An intriguing plot depends on well-rounded characters. No matter how good a set piece is, it won’t work without strong protagonists. And Magi delivers.

This is different from other shounen because of its political aspect. You must reign as a king. So, how do you go about it? This question creates a believable environment in which the different nations and factions can interact without it feeling like the author is expecting you to pretend they would do something.

    Howl no Ugoku Shiro

    Howl no Ugoku Shiro

As smoke billows from that jumbled piece of architecture that moves on its own, you hear the cacophony of hissing steam and creaking joints. The castle is home to the magnificent wizard Howl, infamous in Sophie Hatter’s small town for both his magical prowess and being a womanizer. As the plain daughter of a hatmaker, Sophie does not expect much from her future and settles for her hard work in the shop.

Sophie’s simple life turns exciting, however, when she is ensnared in a disturbing situation and the mysterious wizard rescues her. Although brief, this encounter causes the vain and vengeful Witch of the Waste, in a jealous rage caused by a past conflict with Howl, to curse the maiden and turn her into an old woman.

While a war rages, Sophie must accompany Howl and his otherworldly companions-including a powerful fire demon and a scarecrow-in his living castle on an adventure to return to normal.

The art is exceptional, as you might expect from Miyazaki. His stories feature breathtaking scenery that is equally important to the plot as it is to the scenery itself. All the characters are lovable and deep, from Sophie and Howl to scrappy little Calcipher.

Watching Miyazaki’s films, you will be captivated by his gentleness, visual vigor, and unshowy intelligence. It’s a film that everyone can enjoy. No other animated film has captured the essence of love more accurately and vividly than Howl no Ugoku Shiro does.

    Tonari no Totoro

    Tonari no Totoro

The story is set in 1950s Japan, when Tatsuo Kusakabe moves with his two daughters, Satsuki and Mei, to the countryside where they can be closer to their ailing mother. In the yard one day, Mei encounters a small animal like a bunny as the girls become familiar with rural life.

Following it into the forest, she meets “Totoro” – a giant, mystical forest spirit she soon befriends. In no time, Satsuki too meets Totoro, and the two girls find their lives filled with magical adventures in nature and fantastical creatures in the woods.

A child’s imagination comes to life in Tonari no Totoro, a captivating fable full of picturesque wonders reminiscent of fanciful fairytales. A pure heart is the only one who can see the otherworldly rewards hidden from adult eyes. Embracing the creativity and candor of children, they guard the forest as mystic spirits. They are attracted to the simple pleasures of life and nature’s beauty.

Satsuki and Mei, whose down-to-earth nature and optimism enrich the film’s world, make every small discovery resonate with the audience. Their story is an adventure for kids and an opportunity for adults to revisit childhood, a moment of reflection.

Despite the lack of depth in the setting, this film creates an interesting blend of fantasy and realism. It has very little explanation and details, but its integration of the imaginary is both natural and unobtrusive—a big uninhabited house in the middle of greenery, likely the home of a mysterious figure.

Like any child of their age, Satsumi and Mei are explorers of the unknown. Their interactions with the rich environment reveal a child’s curiosity as well as a delight to watch. Ultimately, the film is more about inspiring the imagination than it is about creating a fantasy backdrop. It speaks to the importance of childhood and a connection with nature.

    Ookami to Koushinryou

    Ookami to Koushinryou

In the small town of Pasloe, Holo, a powerful wolf deity, is revered and celebrated for blessing the annual harvest. Even so, as the village becomes more self-sufficient, Holo, the so-called “Wise Wolf of Yoitsu,” is increasingly reduced to a mere folktale. During Kraft Lawrence’s stop at Pasloe, Holo offers to become his business partner if he takes her to her northern home, Yoitsu.

Holo’s unusual ability to judge a person’s character is recognized by the trader, who accepts her proposal. A charismatic negotiator combined with sharp business skills has brought Lawrence closer to his goal of opening his own shop. Lawrence, however, as he travels the countryside with Holo in search of economic opportunities, slowly begins to notice that his aspirations are quickly evolving into something unexpected.

In Ookami to Koushinryou, economics, and romance blend to create an engaging tale packed with elaborate schemes, sharp humor, and witty dialogue. The story of Ookami to Koushinryou deviates from bartering into a journey of searching for a lost identity in an ever-changing world.

A show like this doesn’t have a grand story – instead, it focuses on the motivations of Lawrence, a traveling merchant, and Holo, an outcast deity who travels with him. The show is able to deeply invest in its arcs, which make them excellent ways to develop characters. In addition, it does something great – it leaves a lot unsaid, but does it in a way that creates mystery and intrigue rather than frustration.

This show crams so much information and dialog into so little time that it is easy to say it isn’t for everyone. However, this is a very intelligent, beautiful, and intriguing show.

    Kenpuu Denki Berserk

    Kenpuu Denki Berserk

Born from his mother’s corpse, Guts is a young mercenary who views the battlefield as his only chance at survival. Day after day, he sacrifices everything he has just to get by, moving from one bloodshed to another.

Griffith, nicknamed the “White Hawk,” recruits Guts after he encounters the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary band. As he quickly climbs the ranks and becomes the head of Griffith’s offensive force, Guts proves to be a valuable addition to Griffith’s force, taking Midland by storm. As the band’s quest for recognition continues, Guts slowly realizes the world is not as black-and-white as he once thought.

In Kenpuu Denki Berserk, a story set in the medieval era, a man struggles to find his own path, while supporting someone else’s lust for power, and the unimaginable tragedy that begins to turn the wheels of fate.

The story is set in a world filled with evil and brutality, dreams and despair, with people struggling to define who they are in the midst of it all and define what their lives mean. Love and friendship are slow to arrive, but when they do it will bring tears to your eyes, since the relationships forged in Berserk are more meaningful than nearly any you’ll find in anime.

This anime’s story and characters are its greatest strengths. Berserk’s world is vibrant as the story and characters grow simultaneously. Here, most of the typical anime cliches are avoided, which really improves the story and characters. Berserk has a unique and lively world that conveys a lot of realism for an anime.

    Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

    Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

There are Four Cardinal Heroes, a group of ordinary men from modern-day Japan who are summoned to the kingdom of Melromarc to rescue it. It has been plagued by the Waves of Catastrophe that have repeatedly ravaged the land and brought disaster to its citizens for centuries.

In order to defeat these Waves, four heroes are equipped with swords, spears, bows, and shields. Otaku Naofumi Iwatani becomes cursed with being known as the “Shield Hero.” Armed only with a meager shield, Naofumi is ridiculed by his fellow heroes as well as the people of the kingdom.

To train, the heroes are provided with resources and comrades, so Naofumi sets out with the only one who will train with him, Malty Melromarc. She soon betrays him, however, and he is falsely accused of taking advantage of her. The people of Melromarc then heavily discriminate against and hate Naofumi for something he didn’t do.

Amidst the raging storm of hurt and mistrust in his heart, Naofumi begins his journey to improve himself and his reputation. Further along, Naofumi finds it increasingly difficult to be on his own, so he purchases Raphtalia, a demi-human slave who is on the verge of death, to accompany him.

In the face of the Waves approaching the kingdom, Naofumi and Raphtalia will need to fight for their lives and to protect the people of Melromarc from their ill-fated future.

In its genre, this is one of the Isekais that has distinguished itself from the rest. The main character is not overpowered right from the start, and it is gratifying to watch how Naofumi turns the tide by clearing his name, and gaining allies along the way.

    Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken

    Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken

A thirty-seven-year-old corporate worker, Satoru Mikami is completely content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, aside from failing to find a girlfriend even once during his lifetime. A random assailant stabs him on the streets in the middle of a casual encounter with a colleague. While dying of his injuries, a peculiar voice echoes in his head, reciting a series of commandments he cannot comprehend.

After regaining consciousness, he realizes he’s reincarnated as a slimy goop in an unfamiliar world when he regains consciousness. Consequently, he gains new skills, including the ability to mimic anything and devour it. Then he stumbles upon the sealed “Storm Dragon” Veldora, a monster of Catastrophe level who’s been locked away for 300 years after destroying a town.

After sympathizing with his predicament, Satoru promises to assist in destroying the seal. As a reward, Veldora gives him the name Rimuru Tempest in order to grant him divine protection.

Rimuru, liberated from the monotony of his previous life, embarks on a new journey, guided by a distinct goal. Gradually, his gooey antics spread throughout the world, affecting his fate.

In the end, Slime is a very good isekai show for the simple reason that it captures what it’s like to begin a new life in a different world without turning the story into a generic shounen fantasy adventure.

Rimuru’s smug, bright and cheerful outlook on life contributes greatly to the overall enjoyment value of the show. Without him, the show would be far less enjoyable.

    Akatsuki no Yona

    Akatsuki no Yona

Princess Yona leads a life of luxury and comfort, sheltered from the problems of the seemingly peaceful Kingdom of Kouka. However, the murder of the king and the betrayal of her beloved cousin Su-won threaten her life.

The naive princess, forced to escape with Son Hak, a childhood friend and bodyguard, soon discovers that Kouka is not what she expected. In the current state of the kingdom, poverty, strife, and corruption make reclaiming the throne nothing more than a wishful fantasy.

Akatsuki no Yona follows the adventures of Princess Yona as she faces the harsh realities of her kingdom. Yona must find a way to regain Kouka’s former glory while being pursued relentlessly by the forces of the new monarchy of Kouka, using only a mysterious legend as her guide.

As the story goes on, the show turns out to be much more than your average shoujo reverse harem, it’s a well-written story focusing on vengeance and betrayal that blows other shoujos out of the water.

Character development is very good, Yona is one of the best female characters of all time. She starts off weak and fragile before developing into a brave independent creature awaiting its prey, done in such a way that her growth is natural.

Watching the show is a blast. It leaves no plotholes and has dialog that seems to make sense. Initially, the plot sounds generic, but if you give the show a chance, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best developments in anime in years.

    Samurai Champloo

    Samurai Champloo

In a small teahouse, Fuu Kasumi, a young and clumsy waitress, spends her days working peacefully. Until she accidentally spills a drink on one of her customers! Fuu, who now finds herself endlessly harassed by a group of samurai, turns to another samurai in the shop, Mugen, who defeats the group with his wild fighting technique, which is reminiscent of breakdancing.

However, Mugen decides to engage an unwilling ronin Jin, who possesses a more precise and traditional sword-fighting style, and the latter proves to be a formidable opponent. Unfortunately, they accidentally kill the magistrate’s son as well as destroy the entire shop.

The two samurai are captured and are set to be killed for their crime. Fuu, however, rescues the duo and hires them as her bodyguards. She enlists the help of the now-freed pair to locate a certain samurai who smells of sunflowers, even though she no longer has a place to return to.

Though they initially object to this idea, the two ultimately agree to help the girl in her quest; thus, the trio sets out in search of this mysterious warrior-if only Fuu can prevent Mugen and Jin from killing each other.

An original hip-hop soundtrack accompanies three eccentric characters as they embark on an epic quest in an alternate Edo Period of Japan full of action, comedy, and sword fighting.

Champloo will appeal to fans of samurai action. It is appropriate for all audiences. Combining sword-slashing action, clever comedy, and touching moments that will bring tears to your eyes. You cannot miss this anime classic.

    Dragon Ball Z

    Dragon Ball Z

After winning the World Martial Arts Tournament five years ago, Gokuu lives in peace with his wife and son. However, all of that changes with the arrival of a mysterious enemy named Raditz who presents himself as Gokuu’s long-lost brother. It is revealed that Gokuu belongs to the once powerful but now nearly extinct Saiyan race, whose homeworld was destroyed.

As a child, Gokuu was sent to Earth to conquer and destroy the planet; he suffered amnesia from a head injury, and his savage, violent nature changed, and he now fights to protect others as a kind and well-mannered boy.

In his failed attempt to coerce Gokuu into joining him, Raditz warns Gokuu’s friends of a new threat that is rapidly approaching Earth – one that could plunge Earth into an intergalactic war and cause the heavens themselves to shake. Dragon Ball Z tells the story of a war fought over the seven dragon balls, and only the strongest will survive.

Dragon Ball Z is an epic series. A very popular anime around the world, helping spread the art of anime across the globe. Dragon Ball Z is a better series than the original. The characters have matured, and the show has a mature feel to it.

Several shounen anime stories feature powerful villains who must be defeated. A protagonist doing what seems impossible, obviously, is not uncommon, but it has always been the case regardless of whether the protagonist has friends or enemies surrounding him. This trend began with DBZ.

Probably every one of you has seen or at least heard of is Dragon Ball Z. Many viewers have used this anime as their gateway into the world of anime.

    Fumetsu no Anata e

    Fumetsu no Anata e

The Orb known only as It, is cast to Earth to be observed from afar. Being capable of changing forms from those whose reflections It captures, It first becomes a rock and then, moss, as the temperature rises.

It wasn’t until one snowy day that there is movement, when a wolf at death’s doorstep makes it by barely. The moment it takes the form of an animal, It becomes aware of its consciousness and wanders with an unclear destination in mind. It soon runs into the wolf’s master – a young boy waiting for his tribe to return from a paradise filled with fish and fruit in the south.

Even though the boy is lonely, he still hopes that those he holds dear in his memories have not forgotten him and that one day he will be reunited with them.

He decides to leave his home to explore new surroundings and uses the traces left by his tribe to find the paradise. What will become of the injured boy, without the sight of his elder comrades?

In Fumetsu no Anata e, an immortal being experiences humanity, meeting all types of people in various places throughout time.

This anime is beautiful. A journey, rather than a masterpiece. The journey of an empty shell. The journey explores the brutal yet alluring qualities of human life. It is both a joyful and painful journey. In the show’s first episode, one of the most beautifully condensed episodes gives a taste of what it offers.

The subtle themes brought into the show only compliment the uniqueness of the story; What is the meaning of life and death? What makes humans, humans? Fumetsu no Anata e is not simply something to watch, but something to feel as well.

    Akira

    Akira

The year was 1988 in Japan. After a psychic boy with the power to cause explosions tears through the city of Tokyo, he ignites the fuse that starts World War III. In order to prevent further destruction, he is captured and taken into custody.

As of 2019, a restored version of the city known as Neo-Tokyo stands in its place-a region rife with gang violence and terrorism against the current government. A group of misfits known as “the Capsules” led by Shoutarou Kaneda are constantly at odds with their rivals “the Clowns” because of their large, customized motorcycles.

Shoutarou’s best friend Tetsuo Shima has an accident with an esper who was escaping confinement from a government institution and was wandering the streets of Tokyo during one of these battles. Following this encounter, Tetsuo begins to develop mysterious abilities, and the government seeks to quarantine him in a frantic effort to prevent him from unleashing the destructive power that could once again bring the city to its knees.

One of anime’s best movies is Akira, which is in every respect a classic worth seeing for anyone interested in or thinking about getting into anime, or for anyone who is already an anime fan but hasn’t seen it yet.

There is no doubt you will enjoy Akira, it’s a great blend of action and story with never too much or too little of either. While you may not fully understand the story or relate to many of the characters, that is only a small flaw in what is otherwise an exquisite piece of art.

    Trigun

    Trigun

The man with a $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head is Vash the Stampede. It’s because he’s a merciless villain who lays waste to everyone who opposes him and flattens entire cities at will, earning him the title “The Humanoid Typhoon.”

Everyone who makes eye contact with him can count themselves dead, according to the rumors. In truth, Vash is a huge softie who claims to have never taken a life and avoids violence at all costs.

He traverses Gunsmoke’s wasteland with his doughnut obsession and buffoonish attitude in tow, all the while being followed by two insurance agents, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, who aim to minimize his effect on the public.

Their misadventures soon turn into life-or-death situations when a group of legendary assassins seek to cause them harm. The agonizing past of Vash will be exposed, and his values and morality will be tested.

Each episode of this series tells a different story involving trials and hardships that the characters encounter. There is a feeling of progression and development in this series because each adventure is connected to the next.

As an episodic adventure series, there are a lot of characters, but few recurring ones. Vash, however, makes up for it all. Vash is an incredibly complicated protagonist, and you can tell right away that there’s more to this person than meets the eye.

There was a great deal of consideration put into developing the characters and making them as human as possible. Vash the Stampede is among the most multi-faceted characters in anime.

    Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven

    Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven

A 14-year-old boy named Renton Thurston lives in the backwater town of Bellforest. As he wishes to brighten up his mundane life, he plans to join a mercenary group called Gekkostate, hoping to find some adventure.

Renton, who is stuck between his grandfather’s insistence that he become a mechanic and the pressure of his father’s legacy, finds the only excitement in riding the Trapar wave particles that are dispersed throughout the air, an activity similar to surfing.

After an unknown object crashes into Renton’s garage, he discovers that the object is a Light Finding Operation — a robot capable of riding the Trapar waves known as the Nirvash typeZERO. Its pilot is Eureka, a member of the Gekkostate, who requests a check-up for the Nirvash. Renton begins working with the Gekkostate as co-pilot of the Nirvash along with Eureka after their meeting.

This anime’s greatest strength is its story. The plotline is incredibly deep and complex, and it explores a wide range of topics. Throughout the entire series, you have one main plotline. What is most interesting about the plotline is how it is explored from various perspectives and according to various characters’ viewpoints. This enhances the understanding of the plotline.

There are times when the plotline diverges to explore the stories of various side characters. It’s here for a reason – to explain the global situation from different people’s perspectives. In the course of the story, you will have the opportunity to learn more about each character’s past. As everything is well explained, you won’t find any loopholes or dark areas.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

Gate Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

Suddenly, a mysterious portal shaped like a large gate appears in front of off-duty Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) officer, Youji Itami, as he is on his way to a doujin convention in Ginza, Tokyo.

As supernatural creatures and warriors clad in medieval armor emerge from this gate, they charge into the city, killing and destroying everything they come across. Youji takes swift action to save as many lives as he can while the rest of the JSDF work to stop the invasion.

Following the attack, Youji has been tasked with leading a special recon team, part of a JSDF task force, that will go to the world beyond the gate, now known as the “Special Region.”.

As they travel into this unknown world, they will be able to learn more about what they are dealing with and will befriend the locals in the hopes of forging peaceful relations with the ruling empire. However, if they fail, a devastating war will consume both sides of the gate.

It is an outstanding show in terms of its technical aspects. Despite Gate’s character-centered focus, the idea of spending a lot of time discussing political, economic, philosophical and a wide variety of subjects in the fantasy world can be very boring. However, Gate shows how it’s important to understand characters’ motivations. To understand the series better, it is also important to understand the characters.

The series attempts to describe to the best of its ability the best path for humanity in this fictional world. It has its merits and faults, but more importantly, it is not simple. The topic is rather complex to discuss or use in an anime series, but Gate does a nice job of presenting the controversial themes.

    Vinland Saga

    Vinland Saga

Young Thorfinn grew up hearing the stories of old sailors who had traveled the ocean to reach Vinland, a place of legend. This is said to be a warm and fertile place, a place where fighting wouldn’t be necessary-nothing like the frozen village he had been born into in Iceland, and certainly nothing like his current mercenary life.

Now, war is his home. “You have no enemies, nobody does. There is nobody who it’s okay to hurt,” is what Thorfinn’s father once told him, but Thorfinn soon realized that nothing could be further from the truth.

Every year, the war between England and the Danes gets worse. For the Viking mercenaries, death is part of everyday life. By siding with either side, the balance of power will be thrown into disarray, and the Vikings are willing to make names for themselves and take whatever they can.

Thorfinn must kill Askeladd, the man who killed his father, in the midst of the chaos. For the Vikings, death and war seem to be their only paradise.

The Vinland Saga leaves a deep impression. You are watching history unfold on a monumental scale, no matter how accurate the details are. Although sometimes frustrating, it is engrossing in the end. It is about Viking pride, the loss of innocence, betrayal, and a quest for the largest bounty.

Instead of focusing on just a few main characters, the script often follows a number of mercenaries; they discuss their past battles and share their views on other characters. The pace can be slow in well-written stories. The anime is impressive in many ways, including the beautifully drawn artwork, the realistic setting, and the creative writing.

    Sword Art Online

    Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online (SAO) is a huge online role-playing game that is launched in the year 2022 as virtual reality advances by leaps and bounds. Through the use of “NerveGear” technology, players are able to control their avatars exclusively with their thoughts.

Kazuto Kirigaya, nicknamed “Kirito,” was lucky enough to get his hands on the very first shipment of the game. With ten-thousand others, he logs in to find himself in the beautiful and elaborate world of Aincrad, full of medieval weapons and gruesome monsters. The players soon discover, however, that they cannot log out of the game; the creator has trapped them inside his world until they have completed all one hundred levels.

Kirito must now interact and cooperate with his fellow players in order to escape Aincrad. Some of them are allies, but others are foes, like Asuna Yuuki, who commands the leading group trying to escape the ruthless game. Furthermore, Sword Art Online is not just fun and games: if they die in Aincrad, they die in real life. As Kirito adjusts to his new reality, he must fight for survival and hopefully escape from his virtual hell.

Each episode of the anime comes with suspensions and excitement. You never clearly know what is going to happen until it happens. Generally, Sword Art Online’s characters feel like real people. They have emotions and interact with each other like real people.

They are trapped inside a game where they can’t get out and if they die in the game, they have no future. The characters are really easy to like and you want them to beat the game, and head back to the real world.

    Great Pretender

    Great Pretender

Makoto “Edamame” Edamura has adopted the life of crime – picking pockets and scamming others for a living because of a series of unfortunate events. But Makoto discovers he is the one who has been tricked after swindling a seemingly clueless tourist, and, to make matters worse, he is being hunted by the police now.

He runs into the tourist once again on his escape, who turns out to be a fellow con man named Laurent Thierry, and follows him to Los Angeles. To defend his title of “Japan’s Greatest Swindler,” Makoto challenges his rival to determine who is the better scammer. Laurent accepts the challenge and drops them off outside a huge mansion and claims their target will be the biggest mafia boss on the West Coast.

Great Pretender follows Makoto and his colorful associates in the world of international high-stakes fraud as their exploits take them from city to city. As Makoto’s self-declared skills are continually put to the test, he realizes he got more than he bargained for.

This is a pretty straightforward story, but it is also very funny. Though you know how they’ll trick the victims, that doesn’t mean they can’t be well executed and humorous in their own right.

The characters in this anime are solid. Their behavior is consistent with their character types. Interactions between them are entertaining. In addition to character development, flashbacks provide insights into the past experiences each character has had.

A very engaging storyline keeps the viewer’s attention throughout. A number of references to other movies and television shows are also interesting. Swindlers use a variety of different rigged systems to con their victims, which makes for an entertaining show.

    Dororo

    Dororo

The land of the greedy samurai lord Daigo Kagemitsu is dying, and he’s willing to renounce Buddha and make a deal with demons in order to gain power. He is granted the power he desires by 12 demons who aid his prefecture’s growth at a cost. The first son of Kagemitsu is born with no limbs, no nose, no eyes, no ears, or even skin, yet still he lives.

In a river, the child is abandoned and forgotten. Fortunately, a medicine man saves him and provides him with prosthetics and weapons so he can survive and fend for himself. While he cannot see, hear, or feel anything, the boy lives and grows, and he has to defeat the demons who took him as a sacrifice.

With each death, he regains a part of himself that is rightfully his. A young orphan boy named Dororo befriends him after he wanders alone for many years. The castaways must now fight to survive and remain human in an unforgiving, demon-infested world.

Dororo is known for its moody, dark tones since it’s the heart of the show. There’s the theme of revenge born from the beginning. A typical storytelling style for this show is episodic. However, Dororo’s most intriguing content is character development.

Particularly true for Hyakkimaru, who begins to express human characteristics, feelings, and is becoming more of himself. Being accompanied by Dororo, they begin to understand each other more and more with each progressing episode.

As a show about survival in a dark and grim world, the duo relies on each other every step of the way. Look no further. If you’re looking for a show that’s serious, without being cringe, and has stellar characters, you’ve come to the right place.

    D.Gray-man

    D.Gray-man

When one loses a loved one, one may wish to be able to resurrect them-a weakness that the enigmatic Millennium Earl takes advantage of. The souls of the dead that are summoned back to life are used to make his mechanical weapons known as “Akuma.” If a soul is placed in an Akuma, it is trapped forever, and the only way to exorcise them is with the Anti-Akuma weapon, “Innocence.”

Allen Walker, a disciple of General Cross for three years, is sent to the Black Order, a group of people who are willing to fight Akuma and the Millennium Earl, in order to become an Exorcist. Allen’s Innocence is an arm, and his cursed eye is capable of seeing the suffering souls within an Akuma, so it’s up to him and his fellow Exorcists to stop the Millennium Earl’s ultimate plot: one that can end the world.

Initially, D. Gray-Man sounds like another shounen anime about a group of heroes fighting evil monsters with special weapons. Yes, that’s the basis, but it turns into something more, something deeper than much other shounen anime.

The setting for this show is standard shounen in every way, but you will find yourself surprised. The story starts off slowly, with lots of fights, little arcs, and nothing spectacular. It quickly picks up, though, and starts to show its strengths. There is action, emotion and, last but not least, realistic power-ups in the story.

This anime’s strongest point is its characters. Characters here aren’t just brawling with evil guys. There is emotion to these characters. Emotions they must face. This is what makes this anime more character-driven rather than plot-driven.

    Majo no Takkyuubin

    Majo no Takkyuubin

In order to become a full-fledged witch, 13-year-old Kiki must live on her own in a distant town for a year. She undertakes this tradition when she leaves her friends and family and rides her broomstick with black cat Jiji into the open world.

As Kiki settles in the coastal town of Koriko, she struggles to adjust and ends up wandering the streets without a place to stay until she meets Osono, who offers to board her in exchange for her making deliveries for her small bakery.

Her journey to independence begins when Kiki decides to start her own courier service on a broomstick. In her endeavor to find her place among the townspeople, Kiki gains exciting new experiences and learns the true meaning of responsibility.

This film is great because it does not have a great deal of ambition, and it is not here to tell you all about the consequences of relying too much on technology, or destroying the natural earth, or confronting forests’ spirits. However, it is merely the story of a young girl adjusting to growing up in a brand new town with total strangers. She is transitioning from her quiet country hometown to an urban area full of hustle and bustle.

The first time you are independent is a terrifying experience, but it can also be enlightening because you learn more about yourself and others. A wide variety of characters appear in this movie, all of them with interesting or realistic characteristics.

This film shows the joys and pains of growing up and finding your place in the world. It’s as if you’re visiting an old friend in this film due to its warmth.

    Goblin Slayer

    Goblin Slayer

While Goblins are known for their ferocity, cunning, and rapid reproduction, their reputation as the lowliest of monsters causes their threat to be overlooked. These vile creatures raid rural settlements in search of females of other species to breed, and they are allowed to continue their evil act as adventurers turn a blind eye in favor of more lucrative assignments.

As the 15-year-old Priestess celebrates her first day as a Porcelain-ranked adventurer, she joins a squad of young, enthusiastic rookies to investigate a tribe of goblins behind the disappearances of several village women.

A cave exploration soon leads to the group’s demise since they are ill-prepared and inexperienced. The terrified Priestess accepts her fate when no one else is around-until the Goblin Slayer appears to not only save her without much effort but also destroy the entire goblin nest.

The Goblin Slayer, who holds the prestigious silver rank, allows her to accompany him in assisting the Adventurer’s Guild on all goblin-related matters. Together with the Priestess, High Elf, Dwarf, and Lizard-man, the armored warrior won’t rest until every last goblin in the frontier lands has been eradicated.

It is somewhat straightforward and simple in the story, especially the characters, but this simply adds to its entertainment value. Whenever and wherever he wants, Goblin Slayer kicks ass and kills goblins. It’s as simple as that. The most enjoyable part is watching this ‘madman’ or ‘crazy bastard’ kill a bunch of goblins in the most brutal way possible.

This is basically a story about Goblin Slayer’s adventures. Shows the slaying of goblins by Goblin Slayer. As we all know, he kills them. This alone makes the series entertaining.

    Bakemono no Ko

    Bakemono no Ko

There are two souls living very different lives, wandering alone and isolated in their own worlds. A nine-year-old boy named Ren is abandoned by what is left of his family after the last person who treated him well has been killed. Ren, without parents, no family, and nowhere to go, finds himself lost in the confusing streets and alleyways of Shibuya. Ren stumbles into Kumatetsu through the twists and turns of the alleyways, who leads him to Shibuten, the beast realm.

In the eyes of Kumatetsu, the boy represents the possibility to become a candidate to replace the Lord of the realm when he retires in the future. As a result of Kumatetsu’s chilly personality, he has no disciples to teach and has no way to demonstrate that he is worthy of succeeding the Lord.

Despite sharing different goals, the two agree to work together to achieve them. As Kumatetsu seeks recognition, Kyuuta, formerly Ren, is looking for a home he never had. Gradually, it becomes apparent that the two are helping each other in more ways than they initially imagined. Perhaps there is less of a difference between them, a boy and a beast, than either of them ever imagined.

Bakemono no Ko has a relatively conventional story, but some creative decisions make it more memorable. Most of the characters in Bakemono no Ko are lovable. All characters, except one, seem to look out for one another, regardless of their affiliation. Aside from being adorable, Kyuuta and Kumatetsu’s hot-headed interactions make you care for them.

One of the best aspects of this movie is the character growth; you feel happy when the characters are happy.

    Zero no Tsukaima

    Zero no Tsukaima

In a world of cloaks, royalty and wands, the self-absorbed Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière is a mage. Despite studying at the prestigious Tristain Academy for magicians, Louise has a serious problem: she can’t perform magic properly, earning her the nickname “Louise the Zero” from her classmates.

Louise’s summoning causes an explosion when the first-year students perform a summoning ritual. Everyone believes that this is yet another failure, but when the smoke clears, a boy named Saito Hiraga emerges.

Saito, now Louise’s familiar, is being treated like a slave, forced to clean her clothes and eat from the ground. When an unknown brand is found etched on Saito’s hand from the summoning ritual, it is believed that the mark represents Gandalf, a highly powerful familiar.

A wild, adventurous, and explosive story, Zero no Tsukaima follows Saito as he adjusts to his new life and as Louise shows that she is more than her nickname implies.

Louise and Saito’s relationship is the main focus of the storyline. Throughout the series, their relationship develops more, and small plot twists are introduced. The real reason the boy is special. How Louise seems to mess everything up.

This is an enjoyable anime in general. It doesn’t have a particularly deep plot. A lot of the tools used in this show have been used before. Many of the characters can be considered cliche. Perhaps that’s what makes it so appealing. It does not require you to step outside your anime paradigm to enjoy it. You can just enjoy the hijinks and life of the characters. Once you start watching this anime, you can’t stop.

    Kami no Tou

    Kami no Tou

It is said that a tower summons special people known as “Regulars” and grants their deepest desires. Reaching the top will allow you to experience wealth, fame, authority, or something even greater than all of those things.

Throughout his life, Twenty-Fifth Bam only knew a dark cave, a dirty cloth, and an unreachable light. As a result, his entire world changed when a girl named Rachel appeared through the light. After becoming close friends with Rachel, he learned various things about the outside world from her.

When Rachel tells him that she must leave him to climb the Tower, his world is shattered. In his promise to follow after her no matter what, he sets his sight on the tower, and a miracle ensues.

The journey of Bam begins here, a young boy who was not chosen by the Tower but opened its gates on his own. His kind is known as “Irregulars” — beings who in the past have shaken the very foundation of the Tower each time they entered it.

This series’ mysteries are one of its strongest points since there is so much potential for development from what’s revealed episode by episode. Intense plots, irregulars and regulars, and the general lore of the series really pull you in and keeps you looking forward to the next episode.

Because of the cutthroat environment of the tower, only the fittest survive, and there are many heart-wrenching moments among the bittersweet victories. The distinction between the hero and villain is often unclear, allies change constantly, and the villains rarely justify their actions with excuses. Furthermore, the villains are not created just to cause drama; they are not insane or unreasonable.

    Drifters

    Drifters

As the rearguard for his retreating troops, Toyohisa Shimazu is gravely wounded at the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 and suddenly finds himself in a modern, gleaming white corridor. As Toyohisa is confronted by a stoic man named Murasaki and hundreds of doors on both sides, he is pulled into the nearest door and into a world that is very different from his own.

All manner of fantastical creatures lives in this strange land, along with warriors from many eras of Toyohisa’s world who once were thought to be dead. The renowned warlord Nobunaga Oda and the ancient archer Yoichi Suketaka Nasu soon become Toyohisa’s friends, and he learns of the political unrest tearing through the continent. Furthermore, they have been summoned as “Drifters” to fight against the “Ends,” people who are responsible for creating the Orte Empire and are trying to annihilate the Drifters.

As the power of the Ends grows, so does the Empire’s persecution of elves and other demi-humans. During a brand new world war, Toyohisa and his group of unconventional heroes must help the Empire’s subjects, while protecting the land they claim for themselves and challenging the Ends.

A unique feature of this experience is that the characters are historical figures dating back to the 1500s and earlier. There is incredible attention to detail on every character, and once you start watching it, if you’re not familiar with these characters, you’re inclined to look them up and learn their stories, because watching them is so captivating.

Without a doubt, this is an anime that anyone who enjoys stunning visuals, historical figures, battle strategies, and a satisfying plot will enjoy. If you do not watch it, you will regret it.

    InuYasha

    InuYasha

The story of InuYasha follows a fifteen-year-old ordinary girl, Kagome Higurashi, who gets dragged inside a cursed well that is on the grounds of her family’s Shinto shrine by a demon. Rather than reaching the bottom of the well, Kagome finds herself 500 years in the past, which is during Japan’s violent Sengoku period, with the demon’s true target, a wish-granting jewel called the Shikon Jewel, reborn within her.

As Kagome accidentally shatters the precious jewel in battle with a revived demon, she enlists the aid of a young dog-demon/human hybrid named Inuyasha to collect and prevent the shards from falling into the wrong hands.

Our two protagonists will be accompanied on their journey by Shippo the fox-demon, Miroku the monk, and Sango the deadly demon slayer. They must learn to work together even though they have differences, to find the power-granting shards scattered throughout feudal Japan, and deal with the threats that arise.

As the story progresses, we gain a deeper understanding of Inuyasha, Kagome, and their companions. Furthermore, the show is full of plot twists, so even after figuring out the outcome, the story remains intriguing.

As well as heartbreaking emotional scenes, the anime also has action-packed battle sequences. Inuyasha has left a lasting legacy. Due to its incredible soundtrack, visuals, plot, and detailed character development, it will remain a favorite anime around the world.

What makes anime so popular is the great character drama and development that occurs between the characters. There are a number of emotions you can feel when watching Inuyasha. It’s an amazing story. There are a variety of genres in this story, resulting in a fantastic story anyone can enjoy and admire.

    Katanagatari

    Katanagatari

In an Edo-era Japan that is rich with sword-fighting styles, Shichika Yasuri practices the most unique: Kyotouryuu, a technique involving the use of the user’s own body as a blade. Shichika is the enigmatic seventh head of Kyotouryuu school, living quietly in exile with his sister Nanami until one day — Togame, the wildly ambitious strategist, saunters in.

A brazen Togame asks Shichika for assistance in her quest to collect twelve unique swords, known as Deviant Blades, for the shogunate. In the end, Shichika accepts, interested in the girl herself rather than petty politics, and sets out on a journey.

They are opposed by the wielders of these legendary weapons, as well as by power-hungry entities seeking to thwart Togame’s goal. While they traverse a path filled with uncertainty and peril, the duo must become an unbreakable team to triumph against their enemies.

Among the things that make the series stand out is the dialogue. In the show, there are a lot of great conversations and witty repartees, and the explanations are usually clear and concise enough for the viewer to follow.

There are also numerous verbal nods to modern popular culture, which is a nice change of pace since one might normally expect lots of serious discussions about honor, loyalty, duty, revenge, or other concepts normally seen in these types of stories.

Shichika and Togame’s emotional growth is handled very competently, and as their relationship slowly matures, so do their attitudes towards each other and the world around them. The story is full of surprises and unexpected turns of events, despite it being a simple tale of sword gathering, even though episodic storytelling has its limitations.

    Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

    Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

Survival, fear, instinct. When thrown into a foreign land with only vague memories and the knowledge of their name, they can only feel these three emotions resonating through their souls. Strangers are forced into accepting their only paid job in this game-like world – the role of soldiers in the Reserve Army – and eliminating anything that threatens the peace in their new world, Grimgar.

All the stronger candidates join together, leaving those left behind to create a party to survive: Manato, a charming leader and priest; Haruhiro, a scared thief; Yume, a joyful hunter; Shihoru, a timid mage; Moguzo, a compassionate warrior; and Ranta, a brawny dark knight. Despite its resemblance to one, it is not a game. There is no redoing or respawning; it is killed or be killed.

The edge between life and death is razor-thin in this world, and it’s up to this unlikely band of warriors to survive together.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar is notable for its large main cast. As opposed to the individuals, the focus is more on characterizing and developing the group; however, there is a decent balance between the individual and the group, so neither feels completely ignored; the audience is briefly introduced to their daily lives and personalities. One of the best aspects of Hai to Gensou no Grimgar is getting to know how each character interacts with the group.

After a rocky start, the show progresses excellently, making it worth watching if the first few annoyances can be endured. The same could be said about the pacing, which develops into superbness. Although sometimes deemed slow, slow is not a bad thing.

    Claymore

    Claymore

A lone woman with silver eyes, carrying a sword on her back, arrives in Raki’s village when a shapeshifting demon is known as “youma” arrives, with a thirst for human flesh. She is a Claymore, a half-human, half-youma creation designed to rid the world of these monsters.

Raki is saved by Claymore after his family is killed, but he is subsequently banished from his home. Finding himself with nowhere else to turn, Raki decides to follow the Claymore, known as Clare, on her journeys.

The pair defeat youma from town to town, learning more about Clare’s organization and her fellow warriors along the way. Clare’s goal of vengeance, one of the many reasons why she became a Claymore, now becomes closer after every town is cleansed and every demon is destroyed.

A classic shounen show, Claymore has revenge, powering up, in-training mentors, and help during a death-or-near-death situation. In this case, the biggest and most obvious twist is that all the stronger characters are women – all the roles that would’ve typically been filled by men in classic shuonen are played by women.

In contrast to a lot of other shounen, it doesn’t drag on and on or offer mindless battles or tournaments. Every character the main character fights have a good reason for being there, and some of them do indeed come back later, like in many shounen shows, but not just because they do, or just because they want to come back again, but because these characters all have reasons, some forced, some by choice, and some by both.

    Little Witch Academia

    Little Witch Academia

During a magic performance many years ago, Atsuko “Akko” Kagari’s idol, the renowned witch Shiny Chariot, told her, “A believing heart is your magic!”. Since then, Akko has lived by these words and strived to be a witch like Shiny Chariot, one who makes people smile. Because of this, even though she has no magic background, she is still able to enroll at Luna Nova Magical Academy.

The trip to Akko’s new school is anything but smooth when she finally sets off to it. She befriends sarcastic Sucy Manbavaran and shy Lotte Yansson after her perilous journey. Additionally, she discovers Chariot’s wand, the Shiny Rod, which she takes for herself.

Akko will find her time at Luna Nova much more challenging than she expected. Since she refuses to stay inferior to the rest of her peers, especially to her self-proclaimed rival, the beautiful and gifted Diana Cavendish, she relies on her determination to make up for her reckless behavior and lack of magic proficiency.

During a time when wizardry is on the decline, Little Witch Academia follows Akko and her friends as they figure out what it truly means to be a witch.

As a whole, the characters in Little Witch Academia are amazing and very likable. Additionally, they have great character chemistry with one another. Akko is a fantastic female lead, too. As an ordinary girl without witch blood, she is very determined and energetic to achieve her dreams despite her limitations.

It has great world-building, great theme exploration, a likable cast from start to finish, and impressive visuals. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will smile with joy and determination while watching this show.

    Rokka no Yuusha

    Rokka no Yuusha

Legend has it that, with the return of the Demon God, the Braves of the Six Flowers will be chosen by the Goddess of Fate, giving them the ability to combat the fiends seeking to turn the world into a living hell.

Adlet Mayer, who considers himself to be the “Strongest Man in the World,” has arrived on the continent of Piena with the hope of becoming a Brave. Though it doesn’t go as planned, Adlet is ultimately selected as one of the six heroes soon after being greeted by Nashetania Loei Piena Augustra, the crown princess and fellow Brave.

In Rokka no Yuusha, the two embark on their destined journey to battle the Demon God and travel to a small temple outside the Land of the Howling Demons, the fiends’ domain, to meet up with their fellow heroes. They begin to suspect that Adlet is a fraud when they finally gather, and seven heroes are present.

Adlet must now utilize his unique skill set and his wit in a struggle for his life to find out which member of the group is the real impostor before it’s too late!

Fantasy and adventure are approached in an interesting way in the series. Instead of the group traveling together to fight enemies and reach the final boss, there’s an internal battle between the heroes. The show introduces us to the characters as it has such a colorful cast. Each one has unique qualities, personalities, and abilities.

Rokka no Yuusha might at first seem like a typical fantasy story with swords fighting. With the mystery element, however, each episode begins with a thrill that makes you want to know where it may lead.

Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru

Shinchou Yuusha Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru

As the saying goes, “you can never be too careful.” It is very important to prepare for every possible situation, even if it seems like a waste of time. Also, in games like RPGs, it is beneficial to surpass your opponents’ levels in order to achieve total victory.

The words describe Seiya Ryuuguuin a little too perfectly. In order to save Gaeabrande from destruction, the hero prepares himself for his noble journey, called by the goddess Ristarte. While this might be normal, despite having overpowered stats, he spends a great deal of time training himself. For safety, he fights weak enemies with his strongest skills and buys excessive quantities of supplies and potions.

Though his attitude may be a bit annoying, it might just be the saving grace of Gaeabrande, especially since the forces of evil dominate each and every expectation in this world.

The anime is such a rollercoaster ride right from the first episode, and it only gets more addictive and captivating as the series continues. The watcher is in for one heck of a surprise with this anime – it is more than meets the eye. First of all, the overall storytelling is simple and straightforward.

Rather than playing inside the box, it also plays outside to engage and captivate the audience. In this way, this normally simple idea becomes complex and you can add to the story is unique and exciting ways. Watching this anime is unquestionably a great and emotional experience. There is no doubt it is among the best Isekai animes in recent years, and everyone should watch it.

    Pandora Hearts

    Pandora Hearts

The young Oz Vessalius, the heir to the Vessalius Duke House, considers the Abyss as just a folktale for scaring misbehaving children. Oz realizes that he will not be able to live in luxury again after the Baskerville Clan devastates his coming-to-age ceremony by banishing him to the depths of the Abyss.

He must now face the world of the Abyss and its inhabitants, the monstrous “Chains,” who aren’t quite as imaginary as he had imagined.

It tells the story of 15-year-old Oz’s quest to discover the meaning behind the strange events which have overtaken his life. With the aid of a mysterious Chain named Alice, whose nickname is “Bloodstained Black Rabbit,” and the members of a clandestine organization known as “Pandora,” Oz begins to realize that his existence might have more meaning than he had thought possible.

The characters are simply enthralling. It’s hard to choose a favorite because there are so many good options! Every character has multiple sides to them. They also have incredible chemistry together. Characters are strong because they are multidimensional. There is no one character who feels “all good” or “all bad.” For much of the story, there is no clear antagonist, as each suspicious individual proves in some way to be pure-hearted.

In terms of character development, the entire anime revolves around each character’s backstory. In the main cast, there is hardly a character we do not see flashbacks of. Almost more than the present action, the characters’ pasts define who they are. The result is fascinating speculation about what must have happened before the main story.

Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu

Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu

Despite her reluctance, Kaede Honjou agrees to try out New World Online, a very popular MMORPG widely popular in Japan, after enthusiastically being invited by her friend. She names her in-game character Maple and begins her journey. In order to avoid getting hurt, she allocates all of her stat points to vitality as a complete novice to such games. Maple has an extraordinarily high defense, but she can’t move quickly or hit hard due to the lack of points in every other stat.

However, it doesn’t end badly for her. Maple’s high defense grants her overpowered skills such as Total Defense, Poison Immunity, and Devour. She can obliterate most enemies in a single blow with these skills and the incredibly powerful items she acquires. Maple has only been playing for a few days when she takes third place in a server-wide event, earning the reputation of being unkillable and absurdly powerful.

Kaede is still learning despite her overpowered character. Throughout the game, she meets new friends and acquaintances that help her complete new levels and events. In the process of all her adventures, she may even pick up some crazy skills that surpass all expectations.

The story is about people socializing, and the way this happens is organic and believable. The story is a lot of fun. MMOs should be like this. At the end of your day, log on, get away from the real-life problems for a while, and have fun. This anime captures that feeling well.

It has depth. The best part is that it is unobtrusive and subdued; the audience is not constantly bombarded by what characters think about each other; it just lurks between the lines, not taking away time from the main plot of the show.

    Maoyuu Maou Yuusha

    Maoyuu Maou Yuusha

Humans and demons have been at war for fifteen years. After being dissatisfied with their slow progress through the Demon Realm, the Hero abandons his companions to speed towards the Demon Queen’s castle. When the Hero arrives at the royal abode, he is shocked to discover that the Demon Queen is a woman of unparalleled beauty, as well as asks for his assistance.

Astonished by this turn of events, the Hero refuses to ally with his enemy, claiming that the war the demons have waged is destroying the Southern Nations.

The Demon Queen, however, counters by pointing out that the war has not only brought humanity together but also brought them wealth and prosperity, providing support for her claim. In addition, she says that if the war ended, the supplies sent from the Central Nations to the Southern Nations would cease, leaving hundreds of thousands to starve.

In good news, she offers the Hero a way to end the war while bringing hope not only to the Southern Nations but to the rest of the world as well, though she will need his help to make this a reality.

The Hero agrees to join her quest after being persuaded by his now former enemy. Together, they set off for the human world, vowing to remain together through sickness and health.

The story is where this anime shines brightest, after the first episode you realize that it doesn’t bog you down with unnecessary backstory or plot, it gets right to the point. The show gives a clear and precise objective, introduces the main characters well, and then gradually fills in the details about them from episode to episode so that we get to know the characters rather than having entire episodes dedicated to backstories.

    Hitsugi no Chaika

    Hitsugi no Chaika

The Taboo Emperor, Arthur Gaz, ruled the Gaz Empire for 500 years with an iron fist and subjected his people to inhumane experiments. He was defeated in the battle for the capital five years ago by mighty warriors known as the Eight Heroes. Through his death, the 300-year war between the Gaz Empire and six nations came to an end.

Trying to settle in the peaceful world, former saboteur Tooru Acura finds it difficult to put his fighting skills to use since he can’t find a job that will use them. When he meets a white-haired Wizard named Chaika Trabant, however, an opportunity presents itself.

While carrying a coffin on her back, she searches for the scattered remains of her father to bury him properly, and she hires Tooru and his adoptive sister Akari to help her. But the six nations alliance, which has now formed the Council of Six Nations, sends Albéric Gillette and his men from Kleeman Agency to pursue and apprehend the late Emperor Gaz’s daughter, Chaika.

As the Acura siblings discover Chaika’s identity, they must decide whether to help her gather the remains of the tyrannical emperor or uphold the peace the continent strives to preserve.

There is just the right amount of twists and turns in the story, and it doesn’t overcomplicate itself with excessive explanations, but you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t pay attention to all of the little details.

Character interactions are funny, sometimes adorable, and always somewhat believable.  Even the side characters have their place in this anime, either adding another layer of humor, seriousness, or depth.
