The Cannes Film Festival in 2022 is almost here, and with it comes a slew of world premieres from some of the most talented people on the planet. At the event, films such as Park Chan-“Decision Wook’s To Leave” and Brett Morgen’s “Moonage Daydream” debuted, receiving positive feedback.
“Ali & Ava,” directed by Clio Barnard, is another film that will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021. The British director is well recognized for her work on “The Essex Serpent” (2022) and “The Selfish Giant,” her previous Cannes drama (2013).
Tracy O’Riodran, who previously worked with Barnard on “The Selfish Giant,” is set to produce “Ali & Ava.” Clio Barnard co-wrote the film alongside executive producers Will Clarke, Lizzie Francke, Rose Garnett, and Claudia Yusef, in addition to directing it.
Plot- Ali is a vivacious music lover who is attempting to keep his recent divorce from his wife hidden from his family. Ava is the matriarch of a big and close-knit family and a sensible middle-aged teaching assistant. Ali and Ava start a tentative connection based on their mutual love of music that swiftly evolves into an unexpected romance when a fortuitous meeting brings them together.
Ava will be played by Claire Rushbrook while Ali will be played by Adeel Akhtar. “Killing Eve” (2019) and “Stranger Things” (2019) are two shows in which Akhtar has appeared (2010). Akhtar will also appear in the “Enola Holmes” sequel, which will be released on Netflix soon.
“Spider-Man: Far From Home” and “Spice World” have both featured Claire Rushbrook. Rushbrook is most known for her roles in British dramas such as “No Offense” and “Whitechapel,” but fans may also remember her from “Doctor Who.”
Claire Rushbrook, Adeel Akhtar, Ellora Torchia, Vinny Dhillon, Shaun Thomas, Natalie Gavin, Mona Goodwin, Krupa Pattani, Macy Shackleton, and Ariana Bodorova are among the cast members. Greenwich Entertainment will distribute “Ali & Ava” in cinemas on July 29, 2022, followed by a release on Amazon and Apple TV on August 23, 2022.

In India, Amazon is preparing to raise the price of Prime membership by up to 50%. (December 14). The price increase would affect monthly, quarterly, and yearly service options, according to the corporation. Users who want to subscribe to the service before the price increase takes effect can do so right now.
Users will have to pay Rs 1,499 for an annual Prime membership plan as a result of the move, which will take effect tomorrow. The package, which is now priced at Rs 999, would be increased by Rs 500, or more than 50%.
Amazon Prime’s monthly subscription, which costs Rs 129 now, will cost Rs 179 in the future.
Amazon Prime’s quarterly plan would cost Rs 459, up from Rs 329, which is a price increase of nearly 39%. It’s worth noting that the price increase won’t result in any new benefits for users. Prime Video, Prime Music, and Prime Reading are all available with the membership.
In other developments, Amazon has announced that a native Prime Video app for macOS would be available soon. Users may get it for free from Apple’s Mac App Store. Users of Prime Video on Apple’s Mac devices will be able to stream and even download video for offline viewing using the new software.
