Where Can I Watch Animal Kingdom: Season 6 (2022)?

TNT has released a brand-new poster for the critically acclaimed crime-family drama series Animal Kingdom’s forthcoming sixth and final season, depicting our “heroes” teetering on a precipice. The Codys stand atop a half pipe, ready to dive into hellfire, while Shawn Hatosy’s character Pope stands on a skateboard, ready to drop in. The half-pipe is on fire, no, scratch that, the entire area is on fire, with ashes and embers rising into the Oceanside sky from the trees.

As Pope looks down into the flames, considering whether or not to take the jump, the message “Family ‘Til the End” sits just beneath the board. With what we know about Animal Kingdom’s last season, this sense of imminent doom makes sense. The Codys are preparing to embark on “one final task,” as earlier previews hinted, in the hopes of being able to “start anew.” It’s never that simple, though, as Pope’s history is about to catch up with him, with a detective looking into the murder he committed in the first season.

Together with the premiere date, the cable network released a trailer that was as violent as you’d want for a drama like this. As the Codys decide to take on a $5 million task that will allow them to start over, shots are fired and blows are delivered. To put it another way, “it’s showtime,” as Craig puts it.

It could also be the end for Pope, whose murder of Catherine in Season 1 was found in Season 5’s finale. (Check out our summary to refresh your memory.) Now he’s got a detective poking about a case that should’ve been as cold as the body of the deceased. But, J says, they’ve buried enough relatives. This must come to an end.

Animal Kingdom started in 2016 and has since become a highly popular and critically acclaimed series. Jonathan Lisco created the show for television, based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name, written and directed by David Michôd. The series revolves around the Codys, a criminal family from Oceanside, California. The series follows the family as they expand their empire, dealing with both the law and those outside of it, as well as one another.

Animal Kingdom is produced by John Wells Productions in partnership with Warner Bros. Television and listed as a top 10 cable drama in 2021. Along with Daniele Nathanson, Erin Jontow, Nick Copus, and Bradley Paul, Emmy Award winner John Wells serves as executive producer on the project. Michôd and Liz Watts, the producer of the original 2010 film, are also executive producers for the series. Animal Kingdom also stars Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, and Leila George, in addition to Hatosy.

Only Finn Cole (J), Shawn Hatosy (Pope), Ben Robson (Craig), and Jake Weary (Deran) remain from the original cast. Of all, this is Animal Kingdom, and as EP John Wells told TVLine back in 2019, they don’t anticipate anyone to be alive by the end. The final season of Animal Kingdom will begin on TNT on June 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with back-to-back episodes.
