Naruto has given us some of the best characters of all time. One of them is Hinata- Naruto’s wife. Initially shown as a shy, and highly introverted girl, with time, her character breaks the bubble and grows into a master homemaker. Throughout the series, we have seen that Naruto has been her prime center of attraction. His nindo of never giving up highly impresses Hinata. She finds similarities between him and Naruto, as both of them crave acknowledgment and have not experienced parental care. Seeing how bravely Naruto acts in tough times, motivates her to learn and become stronger.
We see major changes in her personality when she joins Team 8. About time, when her clan has given up on her, she proved them wrong. She emerged as a leader, and everyone looked up to her opinions. Mikasa- is a wise, and calm girl, who lack compassion, and any other emotions after her parent’s death. Before that as well, she used to be icy towards the world, knowing that it is a cruel place. From an early stage, she was aware of the brutal reality of life. She loses her parents in an attack by the bandits. Eren saved her at that time. She lived with him and his family for a year and developed a strong attachment with Eren.
It is because of him, that she developed compassion, anger, and other emotions again. As a teenager, she learns under Eren, and he becomes her ideal. His words keep on influencing her. She grew protective of Eren, as he is the only piece of her family she cannot afford to lose. She is not someone to give in to her emotions. At all tough times, she acted with senses and didn’t let her emotions come in between. When she saw Eren in a life and death situation, she maintained her composure, and even though seeing him dead didn’t forget her duties. After a moment of grief, she recalled her duties and led the band of soldiers against the Titans.
Eren means everything to her. She respects him in every aspect and values his advice and opinions. Hence, when he said that her hair are too long, she got them cut at once. She is also seen wearing the red scarf at all times, which Eren gave her when they met first. The scarf becomes her symbol of strength.
3. Erza Scarlet
The anime Fairy Tail introduced to us one of the most strictwaifus- Erza Scarlet. Erza is shown to have a very strict personality. She is cold when it comes to mistakes, and very angry with those, who don’t listen to her. She makes sure an apology is made for any misconduct. At times, she is shown as a short-tempered person, who easily loses her cool, when people don’t react quickly enough to her.
One of the reasons for such behavior is her traumatized childhood. Her guildmates feel intimated and don’t interact with her much. Despite all her temper issues, she is wise and is proud of being a Fairy Tail member. Most of the time she is shown as cool, intimidating, and scary, but according to her, she is kind, caring, and compassionate. Even to Jellal- her memories seem to relate to all kindness.
Erza changes her whole personality, from someone who was always crying over the loss of her loved ones, to become someone strong and intimidating. Armor becomes her comfort space, and she feels uncomfortable without it. She is reserved to her armor only and has little to no modesty. With time her polit nature has vanished. Though she slowly becomes comfortable with the men around her, slowly she also becomes comfortable with the fact that her male guild members bathe with her.
Despite her having good leadership qualities, she loses control when drunk. Altogether she is a different personality when drunk, and can’t recall people properly. Hence we see Erza as a strong personality, who is trying to deal with her childhood trauma and the pain of losing her loved ones.
4. Zero Two
Zero Two is one of the characters who have seen massive progressive development. As a child, she was treated indifferently by her folks due to her Klaxosaur blood. People would call her a monster at times. Due to constant humiliation, she grew aggressive and avoided social interaction.
Though her perception changes when she meets Hiro, Hiro would treat her like any other human being, but compared to the treatment she received before, she developed a strong affection for his kindness. She has been shown to keep an opinion about life and death. She readily participates in the fight at the front line as she knows that everyone is the same and after death, they will all be reduced to mere numbers. She likes to fight alone, but seeing Hiro fighting the same way as hers, she invites him to fight with her.
To add more to her personality- she was formed as a rule breaker. She didn’t like being under regulations and didn’t have much respect for rules makes as well. She is shown as outspoken, confident, aggressive, and a carefree person. As a fighter, she excels in all her tactics and skills. She was more knowledgeable with respect to other members of her squads. She knew about stuff like kissing.
She urges others to stand up for themselves before they miss out on life. She has a strong affection for Hiro, and he also cares about her. He asks her to share her issues with her as he wants to understand them. At times she tries her best to act like a human but fails to. When Hiro was in a dying moment, then too, she couldn’t be brought to an understanding. She regrets this later though and tries to make amendments. As she grows more accepting, she becomes comfortable with her real identity as well.
In the end, she loved Hiro unconditionally and would go on to any lengths to protect him. She risks her life to save him and goes to space alone to fight VIRM. As Zero Two and Hiro were dying, they were contented that their friends will continue their good work.
5. Yuuki Asana
Sword Art Online presented us with Asuna. Asuna is shown as a kind, young woman who is always acting as a helping hand to everyone. It’s impossible for her to not help someone by seeing him or her in trouble. She is highly influenced by Kirito and looks up to him for help.
She values his opinion and uses him like a lifeline in the game. She is passionate about cooking. Though she is kind-natured and polite, she doesn’t tolerate if someone crosses boundaries. She gets physical if someone tries to mock her skills. She doesn’t hesitate in prioritizing herself, and even challenges Kirito for a duel after they argued on Field Boss. Though physically strong,. In order to save Kirito, she jumps in front of him to save him from the deadly attack.
Initially, she led a life of comfort at her parent’s house. She started playing SAO, and soon emerged as an excellent player, as soon as she realizes that she along with other players are trapped inside the game. Later in the series, her pride gets reduced after being saved by Kirito. She also steps up for Yuuki. Her priority always remains Kirito.
To sum up, Asuna is close friends with Kirito. Not only this is she is amazing and one of the few female players in SAO. She guides the guild Knights of the Blood. The size is small but perfect for her to maintain. She has a lightning sword too.
6. Rem
The character of Rem is designed to be soft, kind, and polite. She is also well-mannered. Despite her goodbehavior, she is not good at doing things finely. Her sister Ram who is far better than her has developed an inferiority complex in her, and she feels guilty for not being as good as her. Though she has no grudges against her sister. She values and respects her. She has an attachment with Subaru, who saved her. Since that incident, she has been loyal to him and has stuck by his side throughout.
In the beginning, she was not influenced by Subaru. She would ignore him, but as they became friends, she developed feelings for him and eventually started craving his company. Later her memoriesget erased by Lye BatenKaitos. We also saw that she got transported along with Subaru to the Sacred Empire of Vollacia.
Rem is from the village- of Oni. She has lived with her family there, all her life. She grew up with her sister, mother, and father. She is the youngest but still has high strength compared to the rest. Oni community doesn’t accept them as their own. Instructions were passed to execute them. At such a moment Rem protected herself and her sister from execution. When a witch cult attacked and burned down their village, she became an orphan. She is often compared with her sister, who has more potential. Though this never spoiled their relationship.
Though the constant comparison has added an inferiority complex somewhere. This does not stop her from giving out her best. One can see her always trying her best.
7. Rias Gremory
High School DxD has presented us with one of the smartest, most clever, and most beautiful female protagonists- Risa Gremory. She is amiable with everyone around her and doesn’t discriminate. She is equally kind to her servants and other working people.
She also despises people who don’t show respect to their peers, like she feels shame for Marius Tepes, who used her sister. She feels proud of her family name, ut doesn’t like it when people are extra nice to her because of her lineage, and hence she tries to live like a human, with no connection to her real demon identity. The idea of love also seemed to be doomed for her because of this mentality. But later in the plot, we see that she fell for Issei.
She maintains her aura as a high-profile mature woman, but when it comes to Issei, she can’t help feeling childish. She gets easily jealous when other girls talk to him Apart from handling seeing girls with Issei, she acts maturely and rationally at all times. She is highly possessive of him and has to make sure that every girl knows that Issei belongs to her. She enjoys sleeping with Issei, naked at times. After coming into an official relationship with Issei, her faith in him increases, and her jealousy also gets reduced.
She becomes confident in the women he hangs out with him, and also shows support for his dream to have a harem. Though at times, she still possesses tints of jealousy but remains fine with it. Besides her love for Issei, she has a deep affection for her brother- Sirzechs. She participates in Rating games and hates to lose. She grows highly competent in these games, and fuss as she loses. Being pampered from an early age, she is not able to deal with defeat easily.
Though when it comes to Issei, she tries to make all adjustments, and eventually after dating him, she becomes his fiancée.
8. Food Wars
Ikumi Mito from Food Wars made a deep impact on watchers from her spectacular performance. She is a student of the 92ndTotsuki Generation. She belongs to a reputed family, who are known for their meat business. Though she treats people below her status as inferior and misbehaves with them. Belonging to a family of meat experts, she flexes her skills all the time. She is proud of her lineage. She listens to her father’s advice, who told her to act like a strong individual as the company needs a strong successor and hence, she maintains her personality accordingly.
Despite her strong personality, she has a soft corner for Soma. She likes it when Soma complements her and calls her nickname Nikumi cute. Only her close friends are allowed to call her by that name and the list includes- Soma, Kanichi, and the Polar Star girls. From inside she is a nice girl, who has a soft heart.
She won’t admit her crush easily on Soma. She tries to explain her emotions towards him by helping him whenever he asks. Though Ikumi feels slightly low when she assumed that Soma only asks her for help, in reality, he in general asks for help from others as well. But this doesn’t stop her from helping him and contributing all her knowledge. Hence, she tries to show Soma her affections, hoping one day he will understand her real emotions.
9. Akame
Akame from Akame Ga Kill has won hearts with her dynamic personality. On the outside, she appears as someone who remains serene and doesn’t like interacting much. Many think that the reason for her cold-heartedness is the brutal training from which she and her sister passed through. It is realized later that by nature only she is an introvert. Besides her social awkwardness, she is highly concerned about her teammates. For example, she ripped apart Tatsumi’s clothes to check if he encountered any wounds in the war. She also aided Hinata. She is conscious, as she knows that the chances of getting killed in war are high.
We also saw her breaking into tears, when she saw the death of her friend Sheela. She tried to hide her emotions, but eventually gave up and began sobbing. Though she feels no such emotions or mercy towards her enemies, she is brutal to them, even using curse words, to keep up her spirit. We see her using words like “eliminate”, which represents the lack of compassion she has for her enemies. She is a big foodie as well. Her love for food drives her to cook the base’s meals.
She doesn’t like commanding unless there is no other option, she refuses to accept commanding. She also doesn’t like promotion, as we saw when she refused to be promoted to the post of Captain and Ninja by Maruge.
Overall, her character is very strong, and possesses extreme care and concern for her teammates.
10. Orihime Inoue
The anime Bleach gave us the character of Orihime, who is an independent and optimistic girl. She is academically vibrant and always scores high marks. It comes as a surprise that despite her knowledge, she knows very little about the real world. She is shown as an innocent girl, who is clueless at times. The prime reason for her good grades is because scoring high her relatives support her well financially.
If she scores less, her funds will be lessened too. She is in her head all the time. With her mouth open, she gets lost in her own imagination. She has an interest in crafts and hence is a member of the Handicrafts Club. In spite of being a professional overthinker, She keeps on creating scenarios in her head. She overthinks the basics of things when asked how she sees herself in the future, her response was – as a destructive robot.
Her eating habits are also different. The meals she eats are highly strange and don’t resemble the daily dishes which her classmates eat. She likes doing weird experiments like butter on sweet potatoes. Her favorite dish is cheese and butter.
She slowly develops feeling for Ichigo and falls in love with him. According to her, she can tell what someone is going through. She can tell about Ichigo’s emotions in particular. It’s easy for her to tell whether he is disappointed, tired, or angry. She can also identify him through his scent and even when he is disguised.
