As fans gear up for one of the biggest releases of the year, Adam Wingard’s ‘Godzilla vs. Kong,’ Legendary and Warner Bros tirelessly tease us with the first two-second footage, then a poster and trailer release date, and now, two TV spots. The upcoming film will give the audience a battle to end all battles as two of nature’s greatest forces and most iconic movie monsters come face to face to fight it out. Amid all the who-gets-what of WarnerMedia and Legendary, fans wait eagerly to see more of the film.
Footage breakdown
The first footage captures Kong (in shackles!) roaring out to the water, presumably challenging Godzilla. Within the next second, in what seems to be an acceptance of the said challenge, Godzilla soars out of the water, pushing Kong back. Fans are theorising that humans have used Kong as bait to lure out Godzilla to once again try and end the monster and Kong, too, in the process. Another TV spot features the film’s lead Millie Bobby Brown, and cutting to a battle scene between the two giants. As Godzilla shoots ANEB at Kong, the latter charges towards him, holding what seems to be a battle axe. This again adds to the confirmation that the humans are running the show, building and giving Kong an axe that fits his mighty stature.

Why this seems like the right time to release the film
Many believe that a fantasy action movie like this one deserves to be seen on the big screen along with the theatrical experience it will provide Still, Warner Bros thinks that unless the COVID-19 pandemic blows over and they can make full profits from the theatre release, it just won’t be a good idea. Having already been delayed once from its November 2020 release date, the film is at risk of losing profits if the team decides to let it get stale any further and have the audience lose interest.
