The third instalment of Nickelodeon’s horror anthology series Are You Afraid of the Dark?, dubbed Ghost Island, has a new teaser trailer online. This time, a fresh group of Midnight Society recruits goes to a vacation island to unwind and have some summer fun, but they soon learn about the evil powers that lurk on its beaches.
The little clip demonstrates the newest team members as they discover what horrors hide in plain sight at this otherwise picture-perfect resort. On Saturday, July 30 on Nickelodeon, the new season premieres with a two-hour special. Additional episodes will air at the same times on August 6 and 13.
The teaser is brief and eerie, displaying lovely white sand, azure waves, with children sailing and generally enjoying their holiday. However, since this is Are You Afraid of the Dark, nothing is quite as it seems. A spine-tingling scream punctuates the teaser as the image warps and splits.
“The Tale of Room 13/The Tale of the Teen Spirit,” which engages the group in two scary tales based on standard horror cliches, will open Ghost Island. In the first, four friends arrive into the resort’s hotel and quickly realise they are in over their heads when they find some unknown monster hidden in one of the rooms. The companions become entangled in a mystery concerning the ghosts who prowl the resort in the second, which teases a horrific discovery.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?, a six-part limited series that aired last year, will be followed by Ghost Island. Curse of the Shadow was a story about a tiny, cursed beach village that was plagued by the Shadowman.
The show, which was a revival of the same-titled 1990–1996 programme that became a ’90s favourite, recently garnered a Writers Guild Award and nominations from the Directors Guild Awards and Artios Awards. Since then, it has shot up to become one of Nickelodeon’s biggest blockbusters.
The Midnight Society offered gripping horror stories to young viewers from a child’s perspective in the original series, which ran for five seasons. From 1999 to 2000, the show saw a second resurrection, lasting two seasons, until it was renewed in 2019. D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel, who are executive producers on the current revival, produced the original Are You Afraid of the Dark? series.

Four closest friends check into a hotel on a vacation island, but in the first episode, “The Tale of Room 13/The Tale of the Teen Spirit,” they receive more than they bargained for and experience real dread locked up in one of the rooms. Then, as the kids attempt to enjoy their summer vacation, they are drawn back into the island’s ghostly mystery, which finally brings them to a horrifying and startling realisation.
Kayla, played by Telci Huynh (Modern Love, Drama Club), Summer, played by Dior Goodjohn (Head of the Class), Max, played by Conor Sherry (The Terminal List, The Devil You Know), Leo, played by Luca Padovan (You, School of Rock the Musical on Broadway), and Ferris, played by Chance Hurstfield, are the newest members of the Midnight Society (A Million Little Things, Good Boys). The hotel manager of the island resort, Stanley Crane, is portrayed by Julian Curtis (Wish Man).
The To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise and The Perfect Date are also produced by ACE Entertainment. ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Chris Foss serve as executive producers, with Paul Kim acting as co-executive producer. The executive producer and showrunner is JT Billings (Are You Afraid of the Dark: Curse of the Shadows, Panic). The series’ executive producer and director is Dean Israelite (Power Rangers, Project Almanac).
