Other worlds’ characters were interpreted differently by DC characters. They were superheroes at times, and nightmares and world destroyers at others, and we have all seen the wrath of Batman’s Dark Multiverse counterparts. However, in today’s video, we will discuss a version of Batman who rose to become the God Of Knowledge. Justice League: Darkseid War, written by Geoff Johns, gives us god-like versions of our beloved characters, including Batman. Despite the fact that it was published a few years ago, Darkseid War remains one of Johns’ most action-packed series.
The series graphically depicts the Justice League’s dramatic clashes and struggles against opponents like Darkseid, the Anti-Monitor, and Darkseid’s daughter Grail, with artists such as Jason Fabok and Francis Manapul. The plot centers around an Earth-based battle between Darkseid and the Anti-monitor. The conflict will be devastating, bringing the entire world down with it. In a one-shot story titled “Justice League Darkseid War: Batman,” the identity is further explored, and we learn more about Batman’s new shape. So, without further ado, let us get started with our video and look at Batman: The God Of Knowledge.
BATMAN KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT EXISTENCE: BATMAN THE GOD OF KNOWLEDGE ORIGINS
Created by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, “Justice League: Darkseid War” issue 42 showcases Batman’s transformation to the God of Knowledge. The story so far unfolds the reasons for a war between two of the most vicious villains of the DC Universe: Darkseid and the Anti-monitor. The War is about to occur on Earth with Grail already bringing the Anti-monitor and summoning Darkseid.
The comic begins with Darkseid preparing for his War with the Anti-Monitor back on Apokolips. Superman and Lex Luthor have been transported to Apokolips by Lex’s sister Lena Luthor, and Darkseid is aware of it. He asks Steppenwolf to free every enslaved person and inform them that whoever kills the Kryptonian will be spared servitude. Grail has nearly defeated every Justice League member back on Earth, and the Anti-Monitor has arrived.
Diana takes her sword out to fight against Grail but is taken aback by the Anti-Monitor’s might. One of the New Gods of the New Genesis, Metron, arrives on Earth and teleports the Justice League away from Grail and the Anti-Monitor to the Rock of Eternity, where they won’t be spotted. Diana asks Metron who he is, to which Hal asks her not to trust Metron as before he, along with the other New Gods of the New Genesis had attacked Oa.
Metron tries to explain that he is here to help. He advises the superheroes to leave the planet as the War is sure to destroy it, but Diana refuses to do so and demands to get answers as to how the Anti-monitor can be stopped. using her Lasso of truth. Hal tells her that Metron does not have the answer, but his chair does.
Diana uses her strength and pulls Metron out of his chair. Metron warns them that the chair cannot be tamed, and it’s about to boom tube itself away. But all that does not happen as Batman quickly runs over and sits on the chair. The chair is no ordinary chair; it’s the Mobius chair.
Blazing white lights erupt, and Batman transforms into the God Of Knowledge. He says he can hear answers to everything with glowing eyes and asks the chair, “Who killed my parents” the chair gives him the correct answer, Joe Chill. He then asks about the true identity of the Joker and is shocked to know the answer… The other members of the Justice League ask him to step down as this can be fatal to him but he refuses. He says “I am a god now”.
IS BATMAN: THE GOD OF KNOWLEDGE INVINCIBLE?
The true extent of Batman’s might sitting on Mobius’ chair is well explained in “Justice League Darkseid War: Batman” issue 1. Mobius’ chair lets him plug into every person’s mind in Gotham, and he can fracture every criminal’s reality even before they can commit any crime. A couple of goons attack him, and he teleports them to the Southern tip of Antarctica.
In the Darkseid War series, issues 43, 44, and 45 show Batman going into the depths of the Multiverse to figure out more about the Anti-Monitor. He even learns that Mobius is the Anti-Monitor after absorbing the Anti-Life equation. This happened after Mobius had left the chair for which the Mobius’ chair didn’t have answers about the Anti-Monitor.
The Mobius’ chair offers Batman knowledge ascendency, which gives him the ability to unbind his mind to the universe and beyond. He knows everything about his reality and can use this intellect to enhance and obtain several other abilities. Apart from this, he has physical godhood and absolute intelligence. His knowledge can also stop his opponents even before attacking him and this makes him almost invincible. Bruce’s infinite power got him addicted to Mobius’ chair and he seemed to be using it as a drug.
Conclusion
The series does provide us with the BatGod we always longed for. Even without any add on powers, Batman stands firm on two pillars of will power and Intelligence and when one is enhanced to god mode, he is the character with whom you should not get into a fight with. Despite having no powers like super strength or super speed, the access to infinite knowledge transcends him above all.
His appearance in the comics is well designed with eyes glowing white and a glowing bat symbol on his chest. In the animated movie “Justice League Dark: Apokolips war” we got a similar look with Batman sitting on a floating chair serving Darkseid as his prime minion but it is not revealed if it is the Mobius’ chair. There too he had access to everything happening on Earth from Apokolips. That concludes that Batman’s new form is amazing as it can get.
