The horror film Honeydew, written and directed by Devereux Milburn and starring Sawyer Spielberg, son of director Steven Spielberg, is now available on VOD and Digital HD as the first Bloody Disgusting x Dark Star Pictures partnership.
The VHS release of the 2020 horror thriller comes in a black clamshell container with artwork by The Robot Eye. There are just 50 copies available. A note from writer-director Devereux Milburn and an exclusive introduction by actress Barbara Kingsley are included on each cassette. Honeydew depicts the story of a young couple (Sawyer Spielberg and Malin Barr) who are compelled to seek refuge in the home of an ageing farmer (Barbara Kingsley) and her weird son, when they begin to experience strange cravings and hallucinations, leading them down a rabbit hole of the bizarre. It definitely makes for a creepy watch.
If you’d rather have a tangible copy than watch it online, Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment have announced that Honeydew will be released on VHS in the near future!Yes, we’re talking about a limited-edition VHS tape that is fully functional!
The film has been reduced from its original aspect ratio to 4:3 full frame for best VHS viewing. Dark Star Pictures and Bloody Disgusting have officially licenced it, and director Devereux Milburn has given his approval.
The tape will be available for purchase on Friday, July 23 at 12 p.m. EST/9 a.m. PST!
