Blue Lock Anime – Everything We Know So Far

With a new year comes a slew of new anime, and 2022 is no exception. There will surely be new shows to watch, whether it’s an adaptation of an old, well-loved manga from the 1990s, such as “Uzumaki,” or  a new installment in a long-running series like “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.” Of course, there will be new anime adaptations of recent successful mangas, including “Blue Lock,” an excellent addition to the anime sports genre.

“Blue Lock,” authored by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, was first published in August 2018 and is still ongoing. The plot is set in an alternate universe in which the Japanese soccer team’s poor performance at the 2018 FIFA World Cup prompts the formation of a massive program to uncover the country’s best young striker. The manga was a huge hit, receiving the Kodansha Manga Award in the shounen category in 2021.

Here’s all we know about Season 1 of “Blue Lock” so far for the manga readers and anybody else interested in the upcoming anime.

When will Blue Lock Season 1 be released?

The anime “Blue Lock” has been slowly progressing through the stages of production, and it is nearing completion. The anime’s release date has yet to be announced, and it is unlikely to be for some time, as with much other anime. When it comes to anime, the actual date is usually not revealed until a few months before the show.

The only information available on when “Blue Lock” will premiere is in 2022, so keep your fingers crossed that it will be sooner in the year rather than later. When the first teaser video for the show was uploaded on the Bandai Namco YouTube channel, the production company indicated that it would be released next year, in 2022.

Two more widely anticipated anime arriving this year are “Tiger & Bunny 2,” which returns to the screen eight years after the previous anime in the franchise, as well as the “Laid-Back Camp” movie which is a successor to the popular relaxing anime series of the same name.

While the plot revolves around 300 brilliant teenage soccer players all vying for the top slot, “Blue Lock” is really focused on a small group of characters. Yoichi Isagi, the main protagonist, enters the competition with the same goal as everyone else, although he is a little more skeptical of his abilities. Isagi becomes more confident in himself as he learns and improves on the field.

There’s also Meguru Bachira, Isagi’s friend who is normally cheery and lively and enjoys having someone to play soccer with, as well as Rensuke Kunigami, a player with a strong moral compass and a serious approach toward soccer and life, although his stubbornness occasionally gets the best of him.

While there will undoubtedly be other important characters in “Blue Lock,” Hyoma Chigiri, a soccer player who was severely injured in the past and developed a fear of being hurt, is rounding out the core cast of characters. Thanks to Isagi’s encouragement, Chigiri is able to overcome his issues and give it his all in the game.

    What is Blue Lock about?

    What is Blue Lock about

In “Blue Lock,” the Japanese Football Union chooses to create a facility dubbed Blue Lock in response to the national team’s poor performance at the 2018 World Cup. The venue will accommodate 300 scouted high school soccer players vying for a spot on Japan’s World Cup team in 2022. The program is specifically looking for the best striker in the country, someone who is so dedicated to the game and scoring goals that they will do everything it takes to succeed.

Isagi is one of the players who has been invited to Blue Lock. He’s eager to prove himself as a skilled player after passing to a teammate rather than moving forward to take the shot himself, costing his high school team a chance at the national championship. When Isagi arrives at the Blue Lock facility, however, he quickly discovers how powerful and severe the competition is. That doesn’t stop him from concentrating on soccer and meeting new acquaintances.

Blue Lock’s training program is insane and intense, directed by narcissistic, victory-obsessed coach Jinpachi Ego, and each boy is competing against 299 other boys for a slot as a striker. What happens if they’re ejected? The players will never be eligible to try out for the national team again.
